Jacob Roloff is addressing comments on TikTok from people who feel he didn’t contribute enough to his family’s farm over the years. The former reality TV kid pointed out in a new video that he had to film his family’s reality show for years against his will in order for the Roloffs to keep their home.
As The Ashley recently reported, Jacob and his wife Isabel have stated that they are being forced to leave Roloff Farms by Jacob’s dad Matt, despite the couple working and maintaining the farm for the last few years. On Tuesday, the former ‘Little People Big World‘ star addressed a comment left on one of his videos, claiming that Jacob “doesn’t want to build his own dreams” and would rather “share what somebody else worked hard for.”
Jacob– who on the show until 2016— denied that there is any truth to that statement. He also pointed out that— aside from the labor he’s been doing on the farm in recent years— he was pivotal in helping the Roloffs keep the farm.

“We were on TV for 20 years. I was five years old when I filmed the first pilot for a different show. So the [farm] has been a large part of my life,” Jacob said.
He went on to say he wasn’t given a choice about being on TV, as he was told that the family couldn’t afford the farm if he didn’t film.
“I remember dozens of times being like, ‘I don’t wanna do this anymore’ and being told, ‘Well the family’s depending on this money. We’ll lose the farm if we don’t do the show,'” Jacob said. “So I have, in a sense, contributed to [the farm]. All four of us kids have contributed to this farm being here this long, you know?”

As ‘LPBW’ fans may remember, Jacob abruptly quit the show in 2016, writing on social media in July of that year that he would never return to filming.
“I get comments on here all the time about how people ‘miss me on the show’ or telling me I should ‘do a few more episodes’ with the family; I’m posting this to say that that will never happen,” he wrote on Instagram at the time. “…For me, noticing how the agenda of the crew doesn’t work well with the health & happiness of our family is what made me decide [quit] a while ago that I would not be a part of it as soon as I was able.
“…The family that is filmed is not my family. They are the Roloff Characters and I have scarcely anything in common with them, nor do I want to be a character myself.”
In May 2022, Jacob posted on X that he made very little money for all of the years he appeared on ‘Little People Big World.’
“People don’t realize I was paid roughly $6/hr to be filmed for my whole childhood,” he wrote. “I’m still called rich derisively lol. I wish I went scorched earth but I value family, I wish I kept filming but I value my principles and my soul. Life is complicated.”
Despite not taking part in the later seasons of the show, Jacob implied in his latest video that he still put in the “work” and sacrifice to keep the farm in his family all these years.
“I’m gonna be, like, fine leaving this place,” Jacob added. “It’s about the unnecessary-ness of having to reinvent the wheel, you know?”
Jacob stated that he plans to find a new property to live on, just as his siblings Jeremy, Zach and Molly have all done. Still, he is sad that he has to leave a place he’s put so much of his time and energy into.
“The whole thing is I want to continue to build it here, you know?” he said.
Matt re-listed a 16.6-acre portion of his family’s farm earlier this year following previous attempts to sell the property. The father of four initially put the piece of property– which includes the family’s former home and red barn– on the market in 2022, a move that went on to ignite a Roloff Family feud between Matt and his sons Zach and Jeremy.
As of press time, it remains up for sale at a price of $2.6 million.
