Jenelle Evans is defending her decision to yank her kids out of their new school in Florida to homeschool them.
The fired ‘Teen Mom’ star announced on The Interwebs this week that her son Kaiser and daughter Ensley are now getting their “learn on” at Casa de Jenelle. Jenelle received a lot of backlash— including from her friend-turned-nemesis Gabbie Egan— for her decision to once again change her kids’ school situation. This prompted Jenelle to return to social media again and explain that her ‘Teen Mom’ fame has made the kids too recognizable to attend regular school.

“One more note I want to add about homeschooling… my kids were born on TV and even though we haven’t filmed in years people still recognize all of us in public, this includes all schools they attend,” Jenelle wrote on Thursday. “Once an article gets posted then my kids are questioned by adults about adult situations at home that aren’t even true.
“By choosing the homeschool/online method I can now protect my kids and they won’t have to worry about being judged or bullied. I think a college degree is good enough for me to help them on the side,” Jenelle added.
(Just to note, Jenelle does not have a college degree. In 2015, she obtained a certificate in medical assisting from a vocational college. It is unknown if she’s referring to having someone who does have a college degree help out the kids with their schooling.)
Fans were quick to point the finger at Jenelle’s habit for posting her business on social media to explain why Kaiser and Ensley may be getting bullied at school.
“You put them out there with all the drama you post,” one person commented. “It’s not from them being on TV, it’s the drama you are always in.”
“You did that to them!” another person wrote. “I said what I said! They get bullied because of YOU…”
On Wednesday, Jenelle posted a video in which she explained some of her reasons for pulling her kids out of regular school. In that video she didn’t mention the fact that the kids were getting “recognized” as a contributing factor for her decision. Instead, she stated that driving her kids to and from school was taking too much time out of her day, and that she is too injured to do the transporting.
(As you know, Jenelle’s ex-husband David Eason had been shacking up at her Florida abode up until their split last week. It’s likely that David had been carting the kids the 40 minutes to and from school. Now that he’s gone, Jenelle doesn’t have his chauffeuring services to help her out.)
“I decided to homeschool my kids. I know some of you are thinkin’, ‘She’s too dumb to homeschool her kids. She doesn’t know what she’s doin’.’ Listen, I’m not the teacher in this. I just put ’em on the computer!”
“So, there are many different reasons why the kids are being homeschooled,” Jenelle said, adding that she didn’t want Kaiser being bullied.
Jenelle listed her inability to drive the kids to school as being a major reason she yanked them out and put them in a homeschool program.
“I was diagnosed with CRPS so I literally cannot drive them to and from school because I am in too much pain!” Jenelle said.
She added that she was spending too much time driving the kids back and forth to school.
“I literally was taking two hours, three hours, out of my day in the morning and in the afternoons just to do dropoffs and pickups,” she explained.
(Jenelle did not say why she chose to enroll the kids in a school that’s over 40 minutes from her house.)
Jenelle added that— in addition to her now being mobility-challenged— she chose homeschool because she doesn’t want her kids learning things she didn’t want them to know.
“I know what they’re bein’ taught as a parent,” she said. “And I don’t have to worry about any craziness being instilled inside their head.”
Jenelle stated that the kids being homeschooled works out for her busy schedule as well.
“If I do have to do any traveling, they can go with me!” she said.
One person who seemed to disagree with Jenelle’s decision to “homeschool” her kids is Gabbie Egan. As you know, Gabbie and Jenelle have been battling on The Interwebs for the last year or so. On Thursday, Gabbie took to social media to declare that she doesn’t think anyone should homeschool their children unless they have a Bachelor’s degree.
“What makes you think you can educate your children and give them all the tools to succeed with barely a high school diploma?” she said. “Because you bought a little homeschool kit online? Are you out of your mind?”

The first thing that came into my head when seeing this is can someone in the US call the cops to do a wellness check on the kids.
My second thought was the school had some concerns and talked to narcissist about them, so she pulled them out of school.

Right when I think she can’t possibly make more bad decisions for those kids… It’s obvious she’s doing this because she doesn’t want anyone, including teachers and/or other mandated reporters, to know what is going on in her home, with these kids. and please Jenelle- they aren’t bullied or recognized from being on TV, it’s because your dumb ass gains so much negative attention by doing the stupid shit you do, and other forms of extreme embarrassment as a result of your decisions, that they are recognized.
My first thought was that maybe things like selling stories to TMZ about Jace doing something bad just might be why your kids are recognized, you idiot. I’m just surprised she hasn’t justified doing that by claiming that she is using the money to take care of Jace’s “mental health” issues because she wants the best for him.

I have a degree from university. I am in no way fit to homeschool. And yet I cherish the morning walk / drive (weather dependant) to school with my daughter (where I then go to my full time job after, but you know, Jenelle certainly doesn’t have the time for that).
Some souls really are born into an absolutely horrible life. I feel awful for the kids.
It’s Dunning-Kruger syndrome. People without a higher education degree think they know enough about everything. You and I know we know very little about anything. Probably because we’ve been exposed to more things.
I’m not trying to be unkind or cruel, but kaisers weight in itself is abuse. Yes, people can be bigger and that’s just how they are, but rarely children. I have a son who was big. I didn’t realize how bad it actually was. We changed everything And he lost. He started becoming more active also. I want to be clear that I understand he is a child and I’m not attacking him. Jenelle is the issue. I’m hoping he doesn’t get really big by sitting at home not going to school or seeing friends.

Are you seriously fat shaming a child? Because you literary are. I have an uncle who was always built like a football player, also tall as well, right from birth. As he grew, his body did change. Nathan was also big at one point, just like my grandfather, my uncle’s dad, so it can be hereditaray. And the kids are active, from what I’ve seen.

Homeschool works if you have a parent/teacher that will do it right. They need to be focused doing their work, the ability to ask questions and have them properly answered, a person keeping kids on task, someone who makes sure they also get the social side of home school, etc. I can imagine Jenelle will be in her room, not paying any attention to what kids are doing until swamp thing comes back and yells at them until they do their work. Also, Kaiser has been bullied nonstop it seems, at every school. I feel terrible for him. I would bet money Jenelle has never gotten to the root of the problem or gone into the school to speak with someone. Instead she just says, “oh well, homeschool. Oh well, new school.”
I had to move in the middle of a school year and wouldn’t be completely settled until the middle of summer where we had to move to so I ended up home schooling my daughter for six months so she didn’t have to start a school she would only spend 6 months at and it was really hard. I don’t think this is a good idea for her kids. Very sad tbh

Those poor children! I have a Bachelor’s degree and still wouldnt homeschool children! Theres a lot of socialization children learn in school. Most teachers know what theyre doing with explaining, answering questions…etc. Tbf, I did not ever go to school in Florida, so I definitely can’t speak for the quality of schools there.
Kaiser is probably spending his whole day in front of a screen, between homeschooling and video games. Then gets fast food because Jenelle doesnt cook either 🙄.
Children can still socialize with other children outside school. One of my closest friends homeschools her kids and they are constantly socializing with other kids (at Sunday school, sports activities and summer camps).
Thats great for your friend but Jenelle just told us she’s NOT driving her kids anywhere.

And the mandatory reporter would sure have a lot of questions for those kids if David were still living with them. Or when the next opportunist lowlife man moves in. Problem solved for Janelle with home school. Just terrible for those children. The only adult they are around makes their living from OF – terrible messaging for Ensley in particular.

She’s hiding from CPS. It’s the reason they can’t go back to NC and I strongly suspect it’s a big part of the reason why they high-tailed it out of Vegas the way they did. If Jenelle thinks moving from state to state to elude CPS is the answer, she’s even crazier than I originally thought. Most people who have CPS on their backs try to do better and make changes to their lives to ensure that they’re compliant. Not Jenelle. She just runs and then blames everyone else. What a mom, huh?
