Just when we thought #MomTok wouldn’t survive, Hulu has announced that ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ will return next month for its fifth season.
And so will Taylor Frankie Paul!
As expected, the upcoming season promises to deliver as much drama on screen as the cast has been delivering online.
“After two wild years, #MomTok is hotter than hell, but will friendships and dreams go up in flames?” the logline reads. “Taylor [Frankie Paul] returns from ‘The Bachelorette’ with unfinished business, an old temptation and the pressure of life in the public eye. Whitney [Leavitt] debuts on Broadway in New York City as tensions back home chase her.
“Back in Utah, the limits of loyalty are tested as fame, secrets and backlash threaten #MomTok– with every blowup making headlines,” the logline continues. “As the heat threatens to burn the sisterhood, have they finally flown too close to the sun? With rumors spiraling and the public demanding answers, the sisterhood starts to crack, and #MomTok must decide what– and who– it’s willing to sacrifice.”
The five-episode season– half the length of the previous four seasons– is expected to feature the full original cast except Demi Engemann, who abruptly left the show midway through Season 4 to focus on her mental health and her family.
Back in July, it was reported that Taylor was filming for Season 5, but allegedly only for the intro credits. However, Taylor confirmed after the trailer dropped this week that she will actually be in all of the new episodes, writing, “Hate to admit I’m in all episodes and I’m so sorry.”
“It’s a bit messy if I remember correctly,” she captioned her post. “Looks like a couple crashouts happen which instead I now call them ✨emotional moments✨ anyways I’ll be in hiding on September 10th enjoy.”
Variety confirmed that all of Taylor’s scenes were filmed before her season of ‘The Bachelorette’ was cancelled amid domestic assault allegations from ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen, so Dakota will also make an appearance in Season 5.
Fans get a sneak peek of Dakota’s scene(s) in the new trailer, as the #DadTok member shows off his inner-lip tattoo of Taylor’s initials, which the mom of three says is “giving obsessed.”
“I am obsessed,” Dakota replies. (Just a little side note: Taylor later claimed in her restraining order request against Dakota that the tattoo was a form of harassment.)
“They’re like Romeo and Juliet in the TikTok age,” Jessi Draper says of Dakota and Taylor’s relationship.
This season promises to challenge where the women’s friendships stand in the midst of career changes, divorces, children, and legal battles.
“We all just got pulled in different directions. Where do we stand when we come back together?” Taylor asks in a confessional.
“Four years ago, we were just making TikToks,” Mayci Neeley recounts. “It’s just so crazy what we’ve all been through together.”
Of course, the trailer teases plenty of fights and emotional breakdowns. In one particular scene, Miranda Hope asks, “How did she get here?” as the trailer cuts to Taylor sobbing, surrounded by the rest of the cast.
The trailer also promises a confrontation between Whitney and Jen Affleck over an undisclosed issue, one that Whitney claims she doesn’t feel bad about.
“We have to have a little drama, which is on brand for #MomTok,” Jessi sums up the season.
‘Mormon Wives’ has been renewed for 20 more episodes, although in May, Whitney announced that Season 5 will be her last as she moves on to focus on her acting career. It’s unclear whether or not Taylor or Demi will return for the following seasons.

i’m already dreading the annoying drama taylor’s going to start once this new season starts but i will say i was extremely disgusted and sad for taylor seeing dakota got her initials tattooed somewhere other girls he sleeps with can’t see and still try to have a hold on taylor and not let her move on because let’s get real here, taylor didn’t get to this spot with him solely by herself
