Who Will Have the Luck of the Irish Tonight on ‘Idol?’

Wanna See Ryan Seacrest as a Leprechaun? (Who doesn’t?) Fast forward to the 1:00 mark to see the goods!

Happy St. Patty’s Day everyone!! American Idol kicked off its first show on the big stage last night, with the official Top 12 doing the Rolling Stones.

Everyone brought their “A” game last night; obviously nobody wanted the stigma of being the first one voted out of the Top 12. We saw great performances from Didi, Casey, Crystal, Katie and even Paige Miles (who?!). Overall, it was a great show, mainly because this week the contestants actually stopped to think about which song would make their voice sound good, instead of what song they like to sing in the shower or on the way to the Wal-Mart back home.

I think the buck stops here for ol’ Tim “Cabbage Patch” Urban who snuck through to the Top 12 in front of the more deserving Alex “The Mullet” Lambert by singing a religious song. (Smart move first attempted by Kristy Lee Cook in Season 7.) If the Mormons are voting in full force and manage to save Tim, I think we may say goodbye to Lacey tonight, which makes me sad because I like her voice and I also like looking at her hair and makeup.

Clay Aiken: Magically delicious?

But don’t take my word for it…I’ve been wrong every time so far! The only thing I can almost count on is that the weekly group song will be “I Can’t Get No (Satisfaction)” because it’s quite the coincidence that nobody sang that last night. Can’t wait to see Aaron Kelly strutting around like Mick Jagger…ugh…
