Former ‘Dance Moms’ Star Abby Lee Miller Had Weight Loss Surgery– and Filmed It, Of Course!

“Move over, Mama June! Here I come!”

Abby Lee Miller sashayed into the operating room on Friday afternoon to have a surgery to help her lose weight!

The former Dance Moms star underwent a sleeve gastrectomy, a surgery that, according to Entertainment Tonight, removed nearly 80 percent of Abby’s stomach!

Although Abby is no longer filming for ‘Dance Moms,’ she certainly isn’t camera shy! The reality star allowed ET to come into the operating room with her and film her getting drugged up and put to sleep for the surgery. (If you have a surgery and you don’t have a entertainment news show there to document it, did it even happen?)

In an interview with ET before going into the operating room, Abby Lee cries because she feels that no one would care if something should go wrong in the operating room.

“There’s nobody freaking out if something happens to me!” she says. “I’m scared. I’m nervous.”

Abby is not married and does not have any children of her own. She has stated that she has lost a lot of her friends in the last year or so, which may be the reason she is feeling alone.

The 50-year-old reality star has had a lot of negative press over the past year or so. Last month, it was announced that Dancing with the Stars vet Cheryl Burke would be replacing Abby on the next season of ‘Dance Moms.’ In addition, Abby was indicted on 20 counts of fraud in October 2015. She plead guilty to the charges in June of 2016 and is set to be sentenced for her crimes on May 8.

“I’m scared to death,” she said during an interview in September. “My support system used to be the moms on ‘Dance Moms,’ but not anymore.”

Monday’s episode of Entertainment Tonight will feature more of Abby’s interview and presumably more clips from inside the operating room. (Let’s hope they spare us the gory footage of the actual surgery!)

  1. Isn’t she going to sentenced for withholding money soon is this really the time to spend thousands on stomach surgery if I was facing jail time I don’t think this would be my biggest concern

    1. There is some of that and I was thinking she might try to use it as a medical excuse to avoid immediate time served. I ain’t no lawyer tho lol. Usually cases of this profile the legal team may have sway.

  2. People hate! But those girls and mothers would be NOONE without Abby Lee! And I have seen so many who dance, sing and act better than all the girls. They all should be grateful Abby made them famous! Good Luck Abby your fans will be with you and remember your mom is always there. You don’t need those who have used you for money, fame and ungratefulness! Your a strong women and helping children

  3. I actually feel sorry for Abby. She was probably normal before the show and was actually nice to the kids in her school and really wanted them all to succeed. But she was craving attention so bad (because she was lonely? no family – just her mom and a dog? just an attention seeker?) that when she got that attention it went right to her head and she just kept grabbing for it, grabbing for it, grabbing for it and that led to her downfall and possible prison sentence (though I’m guessing if there is a prison sentence it won’t be for too long).

Her mom was a dancer and had a studio, but I don’t think Abby ever danced – just the choreography. My guess is she was always a socially-awkward girl and when she started getting “friends” she didn’t really know how to act. I’m positive those moms weren’t really her friends, but were her “friends” – they never considered her a friend but she thought they did. Unfortunately, she’s the one that came off looking like a stooge because she tried so hard to keep what she thought was the perfect life.

Of course, none of this excuses her actions as the extreme wench she became, and I can’t stand the way she yells and screams and makes like she’s the most important thing to dance since music, but I still feel bad for her. I just think she’s incredibly sad and lonely.

  4. It’s sad to think of Abby Lee Miller, a beautiful woman with an amazing talent, without a loving husband and adoring children. I don’t know what I’d do without mine to support me 24/7, not to mention my incredible friends who are always there for me, cheering me on and taking joy in my many successes. Abby was perfect without the surgery, there was no reason to undergo the procedure. If she had a truthful husband, children and friends they would have assured her of this obvious fact. Please pray for Abby.

    1. gotta get fit for jail! Seriously, being able to run and punch seem like the essential skills to walk in with.
