‘Counting On’ Stars Jinger & Jeremy Vuolo Announce They’re Expecting Their First Child

“There! Now at least everyone will stop asking us when we’re having a baby!”

A pregnancy announcement from the Duggar Family seems to come nearly every month, but the one issued on Wednesday caught Counting On fans by surprise!

Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo–who, unlike Jinger’s siblings have famously held off on starting a family in order to enjoy life as newlyweds– have announced that they are expecting their first child.

The couple made the big announcement on their family website.

“The past 14 months have been the best of our lives as we have had the wonderful privilege of beginning our journey through life together in marriage,” the Vuolos wrote. “We both looked forward to the joys of marriage but neither one of us fully understood just how amazing the start of this journey would be. Truly, the Lord’s mercies are new every morning! Now, the journey has taken an exciting turn: we are expecting our first child! We are praising God for this beautiful gift and ask that you join us in praying for a safe and healthy pregnancy.”

Jinger is the only married Duggar offspring to make it to her first wedding anniversary (which passed in November) without announcing a pregnancy. In that time, though, the couple managed to buy their first home in Laredo, Texas.

In a video made for TLC, Jinger and Jeremy stated that they are overjoyed to become parents.

“It’s super exciting; it’s just hard to believe that we’re at this new stage in life,” Jinger said.

Both Jinger and Jeremy suspect that their new addition will be a boy.

“But I’d love to have a little princess!” Jeremy said.

Of course, Jinger and Jeremy are not the only Duggar Family couple expecting a baby in 2018. Jinger’s younger sister Joy-Anna and her husband Austin Forsyth are due to welcome their first child around February, and Jinger’s younger brother Joseph and his wife Kendra are also expecting.

Jinger and Jeremy have not yet revealed when Jinger is due.

  1. I’m actually really happy for them. Those two are the only ones who took time to really get to know and enjoy each other, and chose to wait until they were ready to have kids, as opposed to jumping into parenthood without a second though as if they were just buying a new shirt. Kudos to them, they’re going to make good parents. Having a child is serious, and I’m glad they understand and respect this.

  2. It took us a year to get pregnant with our third baby, and that was after a “surprise” baby and our second that we got pregnant with about three days after removing my birth control. So its extremely possible they just had trouble getting pregnant. But either either way thry are defintely my favorite of the bunch.

  3. He gives me “lifetime movie abusive husband” vibes. Fast forward five years of course. Joyannas husband also looks that way except more pronounced. Like he’s already a dick to her, that kinda look. ??‍♀️ Could just be their faces though ?

  4. Or it just took them longer. Statistically at least a few of these couples are going to struggle with conceiving since 1 in 8 couples face infertility.

  5. I knew it! I knew they would have an announcement in 2018. 🙂 He was also 30 in September so I’m sure he deliberately didn’t want babies before that age, I’m glad they had enough time for themselves (in fundie terms anyway) and now they have time to prepare for being parents! Not like Joy Anna who will have a few months old baby by the time they have their first anniversary. You did it right, JinJer, good luck and congrats!

  6. Ah damn. I vicariously took pleasure in the fact that she was telling her parents to step off. ? They will make great parents ❤️

  7. I find it so sad that all of the girls Josh messed with all felt like used goods that needed to marry and breed. I wish they would of gotten real help years ago.

  8. I know some women with fertility issues hate this bunch. If their husbands breathe on them the wrong way, they’re pregnant just that easy.

    1. I think they’re disgusting and I don’t even struggle with infertility. Bringing a human being into this world is a massive commitment, and children require a lot time time, attention, money and resources. Sure, they have the money and resources now because of TLC, but they had 14 children living in a 3 bedroom house at one point. They’re children are raising each other without much help from JimBob and Michelle (Or so it appears), and they don’t even take the time to appreciate the children they already have before popping out another one just because they can. It’s no wonder these girls are all so eager to get married. Fundie marriage logic aside, they probably just want to feel like they’re actually loved by someone, and create a family of their own that loves them due to the utter lack of attention they received growing up. Forget not having more kids than you can afford, don’t have more kids than you can make real time for on a daily basis.

      1. It’s also why I put all of the blame for the girls getting molested by Josh, on the parents. Sure, Josh knew what he was doing was wrong, but maybe if JimBob and Michelle had been paying attention to their children, and not allowing them to raise each other, they would have noticed something was off and could have either prevented it from happening, or put an end to it after finding out it happened to just of of their girls. They don’t actually love these kids, and it’s sick.

        1. Worded this incorrectly. What Josh did is entirely his fault and it’s awful, but it was almost 100% preventable had the parents paid any attention to their children. It wasn’t just Josh who hurt those girls. Their parents failed them big time.

    1. I was actually thinking she looked the most real of them all in their announcements. True joy but also realism and love. This couple is beautiful to watch! They actually seem to be seizing the day and experiencing culture and knowledge and enjoying each other… not just dinner over fast food call it a date
