Lesley Murphy Speaks Out After Splitting With ‘Bachelor Winter Games’ Star Dean Unglert

“So…which one of us gets to go on ‘Bachelor in Paradise?'”

Another Bachelor Winter Games romance bites the dust!

Dean Unglert and Lesley Murphy have split after four months of dating. The news of their split comes just days after Clare Crawley announced the end of her made-for-TV engagement to Benoit Beausejour-Savard.

Dean and Lesley met on ‘The Bachelor Winter Games’ and were one of the couples who stayed together at the end of the show. During the final ‘Tell All’ episode, Dean pretended to propose to Lesley, but instead offered her a key to his house, which she gleefully accepted. Both Dean and Lesley laid the social media PDA on thick following the end of the show, but according to E! News things between them began to sour over the last few weeks.

On Sunday– two days after the news of her split with Dean went public, Lesley broke her silence on why she dared to go on another ‘Bachelor’ franchise show to try to find love.

“It’s a bit strange to feel the need to post about this, but I don’t think I can honestly resume my normal programming without giving you an explanation – and maybe that’s the wrong word, but I just wanted to thank y’all for the love and respect you’ve shown me over the past few days,” she captioned a wintery photo of herself. “I spent 5 years away from Bachelor Nation as I lived abroad and traveled for work. I came back to Winter Games because I’ve seen this franchise work miracles before…

It’s a bit strange to feel the need to post about this, but I don’t think I can honestly resume my normal programming (✈️??) without giving you an explanation – and maybe that’s the wrong word, but I just wanted to thank y’all for the love and respect you’ve shown me over the past few days. I spent 5 years away from Bachelor Nation as I lived abroad and traveled for work. I came back to Winter Games because I’ve seen this franchise work miracles before. Through The Bachelor and my journey around the world, I have made deep connections, true meaningful intimate relationships with many walks of life. I know it’s imperative to find someone who chooses us and acknowledges our many layers, who can be open and vulnerable, and most importantly, who is ready. To meet someone and be met. To be chosen and to choose. To love and to be loved. This is everything. All we need is that same energy reciprocated, and despite how open and loving you attempt to be, people can only meet you as deeply as they’ve met themselves. Don’t be afraid to be the one that loved the most and give everything you had, because you’ve got to find people who love like you do and who are ready. Out with the old, in with the ᴛʀᴜᴇ. It was a long winter, and I’m excited for a new season????Let the spring cleaning commence. I’m ready.

Lesley hinted that the split was due to Dean not putting in enough effort into the relationship.

“I know it’s imperative to find someone who chooses us and acknowledges our many layers, who can be open and vulnerable, and most importantly, who is ready,” Lesley wrote. “To meet someone and be met. To be chosen and to choose. To love and to be loved. This is everything. All we need is that same energy reciprocated, and despite how open and loving you attempt to be, people can only meet you as deeply as they’ve met themselves. Don’t be afraid to be the one that loved the most and give everything you had, because you’ve got to find people who love like you do and who are ready.”

Lesley also made sure to let her followers know that there’s little hope of her and Dean reconciling.

“Out with the old, in with the true,” she added. “It was a long winter, and I’m excited for a new season. Let the spring cleaning commence. I’m ready.”

Dean, too, posted something on his Instagram that seemed to be in regard to his split with Lesley.

“Growing up as a kid I had a crude but utopian idea of what love is,” he wrote. “I always had this idea that no matter what you did, no matter how you act, as long as you’re true to yourself and act in good conscious, your path would lead you to the one person on this planet you’re meant to be with. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned that although everyone DESERVES love, it’s not something we’re entitled to. Love takes work. Love is compromise. Love is earned. I still have a lot of work to do on myself, a lot to prove to myself, before I’m ready for something like that.”

While Dean and Lesley were reluctant to share details on why they split, another Bachelor Nation star was happy to spill some tea. Sienne Flemming (who starred on the most-recent season of The Bachelor), left a comment on on the E! News Instagram post about Dean and Lesley’s split that seemed to tell a bit more of the story.

“Shocker,” Sienne wrote. “I knew they wouldn’t last when he slid into baby Beckah [Martinez]‘s DMs. #FeelingPettyToday”

Of course, we have no idea if Dean did, indeed, try to hit on Beckah (who also starred on Arie’s season of ‘The Bachelor’) but ‘Bachelor’ guru Reality Steve seemed to confirm there’s at least some truth to what Sienne said.

“Didn’t Bekah already confirm this in an interview, or at least hint at it?” Reality Steve tweeted. “Nothing surprises me when it comes to Dean. No one should be terribly surprised by this.”

Anyway, with Dean and Lesley splitting, that leaves only one couple from ‘The Bachelor Winter Games’ who are still together.  Australian Courtney Dober and New Zealand native Lily McManus are still together, having moved to Los Angeles together after the ‘Winter Games.’
