EXCLUSIVE! Jo Rivera & Vee Torres Have Signed On For ‘Teen Mom 2’ Season 9 Despite Initial Claims They Were Leaving the Show

“OK, we’ll come back as long as you promise no one will be throwing vases on set anymore.”

The cast list for the ninth season of Teen Mom 2 just got a little longer!

The Ashley can exclusively reveal that Jo Rivera and his fiance Vee Torres have been filming for Season 9, despite stating months ago that they were done with ‘Teen Mom 2.’

The Ashley’s behind-the-scenes sources tell her that, even though Jo and Vee quit the show, the show’s producers continued to pursue them and eventually offered them a contract they were happy with.

“They renegotiated both of their contracts,” one source tells The Ashley. (Since Jo and Vee are not principal cast members, their salaries can be adjusted, unlike the main four girls, who, due to a most favored nations clause in their contracts, must all make the same amount.)

Vee proclaimed on Twitter back in May that Season 8B would be her last, while Jo told producers after the violent Season 8B Reunion taping that he, too, was done with the show.

“The producers had to reassure Jo that there would be no more violence on the show or around his kids,” the behind-the-scenes source tells The Ashley. “He was very upset after [the Reunion] and the producers spoke at length with him to try to make it right.”

A report from The Hollywood Gossip back in June said that Jo was pulling Isaac, the son he shares with ex Kail Lowry, off of ‘Teen Mom 2’ as well. However, his position on that has since changed.

“Isaac has been filming, both with Kail and with Jo,” the source says. “He will continue to be on the show, at least for now.”

“OK, fine, you can be on the show…”

Jo and Vee are due to get married very soon, but, from what The Ashley hears, they are still not allowing MTV to film their wedding for ‘Teen Mom 2.’

However, due to the pre-wedding stuff that may be filmed, Jo’s parents may appear on the show. The Ashley’s sources tell her that Janet and Eddie Rivera are currently still under contract with MTV, despite the fact that they haven’t appeared on the show for years.

“They have not filmed yet, but they are contracted– and have been since the beginning of the show– just in case,” the source said of Jo’s parents.

  1. I love the cast members who don’t let their weddings be filmed for the show! Keep your special moments private… I feel it says a lot about them as individuals.

  2. Jo is the only reason Issac has a stable home life 50% of the time. Jo has been committed to the same woman since Issac was a baby. Jo has not brought guy after guy after guy into Issac’s life. Furthermore, do you remember how much trouble he had with Kailyn? Of course he is kissing her butt; he wants to have his son half the time. She used to use Issac as a pawn. She would refuse to let Vee around Issac yet her revolving door of men was okay. Also, funny thing you bring up Javi. You insult Jo because he didn’t want child support raised (but he was paying child support), however you praise Javi. You realize that makes no sense, right? Javi not only wasn’t paying child support he sued Kailyn for child support, remember that? He thought since Kailyn’s income was higher than his that she should pay him child support. Now that is a deadbeat for you. They shared custody of Licoln so why on earth would she pay him child support? Seriously, think about what you just said. Javi not only didn’t want to pay any child support he wanted her to pay him.

  3. Damn some of you are hating ass individuals. Who would pass up an opportunity to barely do any work for a nice BIG paycheck?

They are an amazing couple, keep to themselves and take care of their kids. There is nothing to hate here.

I’m glad they are back. It’s nice to see some normality in this trainwreck.

  4. First: of course they’re coming back! Neither one of them have any qualifications to up hold their mean of living, the property taxes on that house alone has to be outrageous.im sorry, on the one to ten lazy scale I’d put jo a high 8
Second: he doesn’t want his children around the violence? Really?? His child’s mother is fifty percent the cause of the reunion chaos, if not MORE! Kail started the violence with her threats of physical violence and told Drew ( after it was over)that her regret was not hitting Brittany first! So may I suggest going back to court for custodial? His child is with the person that is the root to all the violence that occurred , your child lives with the women that startled it all!.
We watched this guy sit on a picnic table and beg his ex not to take him to court to have child support adjusted fairly, he was happy to leave kail in control and have Javi be the one to go to work everyday. I’m astonished how his kissing kails ass is being misconstrued as good co parenting, this guy is given waaay too much credit!

      1. Why does Javi wanting child support make him a deadbeat? In your response you even mentioned that Javi shares custody of Lincoln… so deadbeat how? He takes care his kid.

    2. Vee just got her realtor’s license a few months ago. I’m sure she’d do fine w/out the show if she had to.

    3. Just like kail wasn’t starting anything but yet she wouldn’t let links bd be filmed. Kail always starts everything then plays the victim. I don’t get it why people can’t see thru her. His parents were helping her and what did she do? Cheat on their son and act like they didn’t help her.

  5. Well, without Isaac, the REASON why Kail actually got the show, it would be kinda pointless, wouldn’t it?

Jo decided what is best for his family (and the reason for people, fed up with Kail’s baby daddies drama, to still watch her segments) and their wedding still won’t be filmed so it’s a win for them both.

  6. Vee is always tweeting things like this and NEVER follows through. Remember when she said her daughter would never be on tv? Hopefully MTV can keep their promise.

    1. It’s more that Jo and Vee say things like “My daughter will never be on tv” and what they actually mean is “My daughter will never be a ‘character’ on the show with her own storyline.” I knew they were never going to really quit, but I would bet they re-negotiated to be paid better or the same for a fraction of the obligations. I also think the whole Briana cross-over drama really did change things for them. Dealing with Kail is probably a trip, but that is drama they have to deal with TV or no TV. Briana was just bringing straight up unnecessary shit into their lives that genuinely threatened Issac’s safety. I think B has moved on and this also helped Jo and Vee decide to come back.

I think they like being on the show on the whole, they like the money and a little bit of attention, but they have no interest in the next level of the reality game with the tabloids, endorsements, and feuds. My bet is that they agreed to one or two staged scenes based around Issac’s soccer games or something.

  7. I get why they quit, and I get why they came back. Can’t knock them for either decision…I would have quit too if my coworker lost her damn mind and came after my kids parent kicking and screaming like some demonic trash from hell while my kid was in the building…and I woulda came back (just that once) if the price was right and they could assure me that me and my family wouldn’t be anywhere near the demonic trash and that the trash would be taken out and have real repercussions the next time she tries to turn the work place into a Jerry Springer episode…..I would like to know how much MTV gave them though to come back….

  8. OG has given us nothing but bad casting news for weeks. I’m so happy to see TM2 is giving us happy news! Jo and Vee are prime examples of how to co-parent with Kail, it’s refreshing. Plus, I’m thrilled to see sweet Isaac again! He’s such a sweetie.

    1. I was thinking the same thing! I’m glad we get to see Isaac again….he’s the absolute sweetest little boy. He’s respectful, not bratty….he’s so cute.

  9. Not surprising, most fans like them and see them positively. And they might not *need* that MTV paycheck, but I’m sure it is nice to have, even if it’s just savings and college money for the kids.
