  1. Mackenzie is only 23?! Isn’t Ryan we’ll into his 30s? I’m not judging I just didn’t realize she was so young compared to him. I can’t imagine having three kids by 23. I only have one at 23 and it is totally overwhelming

    1. Exactly what I was thinking – she’s only 23?!
I am turning 30 this month and just had my first baby and am also overwhelmed! Can’t imagine 3 at 23, as well as 2 marriages.

    2. I honestly think her age played a huge part of some of the immature stuff she has done. Like the letter blaming Maci for Ryans drug addiction. She would have been like 20 then. HOPEFULLY, she is maturing.

    3. I don’t know if it’s her haircut, or how she styles herself, or the makeup, or what, but she looks like a 35 year old suburban soccer mom who could have middle school aged children. I thought she was maybe 28 years old and I still thought she looked old for her age. To find out she’s 23 is crazy.

  2. I know someone whose almost 7 yr old daughter still wears pullups at night. They claim its completely normal, it’s not. She continues to get UTI’s and we all say it’s because she is not fully potty trained and urinating in a pullup and sitting in it at night. She does not have any behavioral or intellectual issues that would prevent it. Honestly, its laziness on the parents.

    1. I was fully potty-trained by 3-4. My brother wasn’t night trained until 7-8. They even got him a special diaper that gives out an alarm when you pee, to wake you up. Some children need more help than others. I wouldn’t blame parents for their child not being potty trained yet,as long as they are putting in the effort to help the child improve.

    2. Maybe the UTIs are causing her to still have accidents and not the other way around? It’s very hard to tell if you really need to go or not when you have a UTI. Bed wetting is different then not being potty trained, though. At least I think so. Bed wetting can have so many different physical, emotional, or mental causes.

  3. My oldest was potty trained at 2. My 4 younger were about 3. I don’t know who came up with this idea that kids must be potty trained at 2.

    1. Exactly! Every kid is different as is every situation. My first I started the day he turned a year it was a disaster! By the time I had my second I introduced him to the potty and didnt push him and he got it way quicker than my first. I also started later with my second. Its all up to the kid and the parent. People need to mind their business.

    2. The people who sell pull-ups, probably. The commercials have kids who are barely walking in them. I’m a nanny and it’s bizarre how early people start putting their kids in pull-ups and for how long they’re in them because they spend almost two years “potty training,” and dealing with accidents. Most kids that I’ve watched start to actually figure out potty training around age 3 when they can tell when they have to go, can feel when they’re wet, and prefer to be dry. You can train a younger kid, but it’s more just making them sit on the potty every 2 hours whether or not they say they have to go. You’re really training yourself, not the kid.

    3. Exactly! I raised two of my cousins and my daughter. Each were ready at completely different times. 3.5, 20 months, and 3. All potty training before THEY are ready does is cause a lot of crying and frustration and you cleaning a bunch of pee off your floor.

    4. It is crazy and unnecessary, I think. I do remember an interview a long time ago, with Gisele Bunchen I believe, which talked about how she potty trained her kids starting at 6 months old.

I think a child potty trains when they are ready, for some reason girls seem to be easier. My younger brother had problems wetting the bed until he was at least 7 years old.

  4. I hate to say it, but I agree with Kail on this one. Lux isn’t even 2.5 yet. My oldest’s school didn’t even start asking him to sit down and try until he was closer to 3. They waited until he was ready, and as a result, he was trained in a week and has never had an accident. I would think that a mom would know her kid and his preparedness better than some judgmental internet random.

      1. Why? Exactly where is it written that a boy can’t have long hair? How about people just leave the baby alone? It’s just hair and it’s brushed and he’s happy. Who cares?

  5. My children potty trained after 2 closer to 3. Some kids train earlier and all kids are different. For all the things to call her out on that is way down the list.
