Jax Taylor Responds After His Wife Brittany Cartwright Says They Are “Separated”; Jax Claims They’re Living Together Again & Will “Not Divorce”

Jax and Brittany, happily living together again in Valley Village.

Jax Taylor and wife Brittany Cartwright are reportedly living under the same roof again, despite Brittany claiming otherwise earlier this week.

Amid rumors that things were rocky with former Vanderpump Rules stars, the native Kentuckian revealed Thursday on her and Jax’s When Reality Hits podcast that the two have separated.

“So many of you guys have been asking me about Jax and I and our relationship, and I just think it’s important to be real and honest with you guys because … we’ve shared so much of our lives with you guys,” Brittany shared, while speaking to her fellow castmate Michelle Lally of their upcoming Bravo series The Valley.

“I don’t want to seem like I’m lying or anything like that so I think it’s important for me to say this. I know on my last podcast, I alluded to many marriages [that] go through rocky times but with all the speculation online and stories running rampant, I wanted to be transparent with you guys,” she continued. “Yes, marriages in general are very hard and I’ve had a particularly rough year this past year.

“Jax and I are taking time apart and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health.”

Brittany and Jax, thinking this ruse will convince people to watch The Valley. (Probably.)

The reality star stated that she didn’t want to share details because the topic of her and Jax separating was still difficult to address.

“I’m taking things one day at a time. I don’t know what the future holds, but right now the focus is on being the best mom to [our 2-year-old son] Cruz.”

Despite Brittany claiming on the podcast episode that she and Jax were residing in separate homes, Jax has told Page Six that the two are once again living under the same roof.

“She was in [another] house for a while, but yeah, she’s back now,” Jax—who wasn’t wearing his wedding ring during the interview– said on Thursday. “We’re actually living together, living in our home right now. We’re trying to figure it out. It’s all fresh and new.”

He also insisted that his and Brittany’s separation will not lead to a divorce and that they both “just want to do what’s best” for their son.

“I mean this is not divorce,” he said. “We’re just taking some time apart. Just trying to reassess our situation.”

Jax went on to claim that there is no “evil or nastiness” between he and Brittany and that their current struggles will not tear them apart as a couple.

“It’s just two people that are hitting a 10-year mark in their marriage and could go either way,” he added, seemingly overlooking the fact that he and Brittany have been married for four years.

“Sure feels like 10 to me.”

Fans started expressing concern for Jax and Brittany’s marriage earlier this month after Jax shared a pic of himself out and about in Montreal without Brittany.

A follower on Instagram asked, “Is [he and] Brittany not together anymore?” Jax responded, “why would you say that,, i can’t take a trip without my wife for work…”

Some pointed out that in a photo shared on Jax’s Instagram Story, captured by Reality Blurb!, the former bartender looked pretty cozy with his publicist Lori Kreb during his trip to Montreal. Another post, in which Jax posed with ‘Vanderpump Rules’ star Tom Schwartz, also garnered some suspicion from fans.

“Everything ok with you and Brittany Jax,” one person commented, to which Jax replied, “everything’s great… i am allowed to travel for work.”

In a previous episode of When Reality Hits, Jax and Brittany laughed off rumors that Jax was stepping out with Lori.

“She’s our publicist and a very good friend of mine,” Brittany said. “[The photo] really wasn’t that big of a deal.”

“She takes care of all of us,” Jax added. “This was her hometown, Montreal is her hometown, so she’s really excited to have us there … glad we all cleared that up because people just need to relax.”

Before confirming their split, Page Six caught Jax and Brittany at their separate homes. At the time, Jax appeared to be living in the couple’s Valley Village house, while Brittany was reportedly residing at a new location in Sherman Oaks.

On Friday—following Jax’s interview with Page Six— Brittany posted a cryptic message to Instagram Stories.

“If a woman holds the power to create life, she also holds the power to create the life she wants,” it read.

Fans may get a glimpse of what caused their split in ‘The Valley,’ which premieres March 19 on Bravo.

UPDATE! On Friday, Page Six reported that, despite what Jax said on Thursday, Brittany is not currently living back at the couple’s home.

Page Six can confirm that Brittany Cartwright has indefinitely moved out of her shared home with Jax Taylor with no plans of looking back,” the site reported, adding that a source close to Brittany stated that Brittany moved into a “new rental” this week because the lease on her previous short-term rental had ended.

“They’re not on the path to reconciliation,” the source added.

“How dare you not play along with whatever I’m spewing to the press!”

The source stated that Brittany did come home on Thursday (just as Jax told Page Six); however it was just for a visit to get some of her things and not to resume living there.

“She was back there yesterday to pack up her stuff to go to another rental,” the source said. “Maybe that’s why he said, ‘Oh, she’s back home now,’ because there was a day in between her rentals.

“I don’t know why he said that — I think he was just caught off guard,” the source added.

On Friday, Page Six posted a series of photos showing Brittany bringing belongings from her car into her new rental home.

Since the news of Jax and Brittany’s separation broke on Thursday, fans have been speculating that the couple could be faking their split in order to promote their new show ‘The Valley.’ On Thursday, their rep shut down those rumors.

“[The split is] most definitely not PR-related in any way,” he told Page Six.

  1. IF this is real and not an attention-grab and/or PR stunt (which i 💯 think it is):
    ‘i’m shocked’
    ~no one
these two should never have married in the first place, though they’re both such simpletons they really deserve each other. 🤷🏼‍♀️

  2. Either they are trying to drum up publicity for their ridiculous looking new show or Jax is doing what he does best…lie.
