Jenelle Evans is not happy with her former stepdaughter, Maryssa, and in a private message sent to Maryssa by Jenelle, the fired Teen Mom star threatens to start a social media war with the 17-year-old.
During a TikTok Live Jenelle— who, mind you, is 33 years old— recently addressed a joke posted on TikTok by Maryssa in which Maryssa– who is the daughter of Jenelle’s soon-to-be ex-husband David Eason— poked fun at being raised on The Land by Jenelle. Although Jenelle brushed the joke off while Live on TikTok on Wednesday, her private response to Maryssa— which was exposed on X by David’s current girlfriend Kenleigh Heatwole— was anything but joking, with Jenelle calling Maryssa “a broken girl,” among other things.
“I’m not mad at her. She’s being influenced right now by different people around her to act the way she wants to,” Jenelle said on Live of Maryssa. “So I’m not going to post anything in retaliation.”
During her Live, Jenelle went on to actually credit Maryssa for staying in touch with her younger sister Ensley since Jenelle moved to Las Vegas.
“I’ve been really nice to Maryssa,” Jenelle said. “I didn’t know there was anything wrong between us….it’s whatever. Little kids are gonna talk s**t, ya know what I’m saying?”
While publicly Jenelle seemed to be unfazed by Maryssa’s jab, it did apparently bother her, as she allegedly sent the 17-year-old a private message bashing her for not being grateful for everything Jenelle did for her. Jenelle also threatened to escalate a TikTok back-and-forth with Maryssa if she didn’t stop posting.
On X, David’s girlfriend Kenleigh posted the message that Maryssa allegedly received from Jenelle.
“You’ve got jokes? Me too,” Jenelle reportedly wrote to Maryssa. “It’s sad you’re a broken girl and addicted to your dad’s love after what he did to you. I’ll pray for you.
“I did everything for you and you never even said thank you one time for me raising you, buying you everything and anything you’ve ever needed, and gave you a roof over your head. If you want to match at this TikTok game we certainly can and I’ll tag you.”
This isn’t the first time Jenelle has insinuated that Maryssa is ungrateful for the life on The Land that Jenelle provided. Back in March 2024, Jenelle opened up about her relationship (or lack thereof) with Maryssa.
“She refuses to talk to any of us,” Jenelle wrote during an Instagram Q&A at the time. “She’s always been distant and I just don’t think I was ever looked at as her ‘stepmom.’ By the way I was disrespected so much by my ex [David], I feel like she wanted to feel the same way her dad did towards me. Very prideful!”
As The Ashley previously reported, Jenelle booted Maryssa from The Land in early 2024, after David left to go live on the couple’s broken-down boat. Jenelle informed the then-16-year-old that she could no longer live on The Land, because she needed Maryssa’s room to accommodate Jace, whom Jenelle had recently regained custody of. (Jenelle ended up moving with her kids to Las Vegas shortly after this.)
Maryssa was sent to live with her mother and stepfather, something that angered David and contributed to the couple finally splitting up.
Speaking of David, Jenelle recently threatened him with more legal action, as she felt that Maryssa posting about her (and Kenleigh reposting it) was essentially David harassing her through them. (David is currently legally restricted from harassing Jenelle due to a restraining order she has against him. If she could prove this was him harassing her, then it would, indeed, be a violation of the restraining order she has against David.)
“I mean if you want to catch another violation charge for 3rd party harassment be my guest David,” Jenelle tweeted and (very) quickly deleted on X.
Anyway, Maryssa seemed to respond to Jenelle’s message on Wednesday. She posted herself lip-syncing to Megan Moroney‘s song “Bless Your Heart,” specifically the lyrics, “No chance you’d say it to my face/ Go hate somebody else/ I’m kinda busy if you can’t tell.”

UPDATE! After the message was posted, Jenelle seemed to be trying to do damage control by posting a montage and message to Maryssa.

I’m happy to see you graduated high school and we talked recently about nursing school, hope that’s going well. Jenelle acted one way on live, then privately sent a devaluing message, then invited a kid to a “TikTok war” and then put up an “I’m so proud of you “montage” and then threatened her father with a 3rd party violation of a restraining order on an argument she started? Someone should remind Janelle she is in the middle of a divorce and custody fight, and this is just evidence against her.
Jenelle and I are the same age and I cannot imagine threatening somebody with a TikTok war, especially not a teenager. 😂🤣

As a woman in your mid 30s you had multiple choices but over and over chose drugs, multiple children with multiple man, no career and not finding a mental healthcare provider. Broken or not, Maryssa will be just fine. Kinda crazy to think she wouldn’t be somewhat broken, considering what she grew up in and the hand she was dealt that she had no choice or part in. Not the least of which was having you for a stepmom.

Jenelle is such a bitch. She has tormented Maryssa online before. (and God only knows the abuse she suffered on the sinking land) When Egghead David and Jenelle lost custody of their kids Maryssa was brave enough at a very young age to get on the stand and testify to the abuse that she and the other kids had suffered at the hands of David and Jenelle.
The Judge does nothing to protect the kids as per usual with David & Jenelle and hands the kids right back over to their abusers. Jenelle jumps online with David and proceeds to say that Maryssa is a liar, she has mental issues, she is horrible to the other kids, she is disrespectful…anything that Jenelle could think of to discredit Maryssa.
