A&E announced this week that Duck Dynasty: The Revival will premiere next month, eight years after the original Duck Dynasty series ended its 11-season run.
As The Ashley previously told you, former âDuck Dynastyâ star Willie Robertson revealed in December that he and his family were âgetting back in productionâ for a reboot that he described as âthe next generation of âDuck Dynasty.ââ The following month, A&E confirmed that âDuck Dynasty: The Revivalâ would be premiering later this year.
According to Deadline, âDuck Dynasty: The Revivalâ will begin airing next month and will follow Willie and wife Korie Robertson and the next generation of Robertsons as they carry on the familyâs legacy at their Louisiana homestead. As the familyâs Duck Commander business expands beyond ducks, Willie and Korie will explore the future of the familyâs brand, while also supporting their children through milestones like marriage, parenthood and entrepreneurship.
Fans of the original âDuck Dynastyâ can look forward to catching up with Willie and Korie, along with their adult children John Luke, Sadie, Will, Bella and Rebecca. Willieâs mom, Miss Kay, is also slated to return in the new series, as well as Uncle Si and other beloved members of the Robertson family.
As The Ashley told you earlier this month, Willieâs brother Jase Robertson recently opened up on the familyâs podcast about their parents Miss Kay and Phil Robertsonâs declining health, just months after he revealed that Philâ who shares sons Jase, Willie, Alan and Jep with Miss Kayâ was in the early stages of Alzheimerâs disease. Jase had also noted on the podcast that his father was suffering from âsome sort of blood disease.â
Despite his father having a great team of medical caregivers, Jase shared with listeners this month that Phil has shown no improvement over the last few months. He also revealed during the episode that Miss Kayâs health was on the âupswingâ after she suffered a fall back in February.
â ⊠itâs been a lot better this past week, because she was really not doing good,â Jase said. âShe got an infection from a fall, from a cut that had happened earlier.â
Jase described his momâs injury as âsevere,â revealing that she currently remains in the hospital where sheâs undergoing âmore rehab, physically.â While Miss Kayâs health is improving, Jase said that for a while, he and his family were fearing the worst for the Robertson matriarch.
âWe were kind of dealing with the fact that maybe this is it,â he said. âThatâs what it seemed like in the moment. It seemed close, so it was difficult.â
While Miss Kay is slated to return to TV for âDuck Dynasty: The Revival,â itâs unknown if her recent health issues will be documented on the new show, or if she is still planning to appear on the series at all.
Meanwhile, Phil was never slated to appear on the reboot, presumably due to his declining health.
âDuck Dynasty: The Revivalâ premieres May 28 on A&E.
