HGTV continues to swing its ax, cutting several of its popular shows from its lineup in recent weeks. The latest shows to get hacked on the HGTV cutting board include shows starring exes Tarek El Moussa and Christina Haack.
Numerous media outlets are reporting that Tarek and Christina have each had one of their shows cancelled by HGTV. Although the network has yet to officially confirm the news, it appears that Christina’s show Christina on the Coast and Tarek’s show The Flipping El Moussas (which co-stars his current wife Heather) will not be renewed for another season.
One of the exes’ shows, though, seems to have avoided the massacre; Us Weekly reports that The Flip-Off (which pits Tarek and Heather against Christina as each team finds, buys, renovates and flips a house to see which team has the most financial gain) has not been cancelled. The show— which had some of the best ratings out of the gate of any new show on HGTV in years— is expected to get a second season; however, the magazine reports that ‘The Flip Off’ has no Season 2 filming date as of press time.
There’s been no word yet on if Christina’s other show, Christina in the Country— which takes place in Tennessee— will be renewed for a third season.
‘The Flipping El Moussas’ and ‘Christina on the Coast’ are the latest additions to the heap of HGTV shows to get cut from the network’s lineup. Other shows that are reportedly not coming back include Bargain Block, Battle on the Beach, Farmhouse Fixer, Izzy Does It and Married to Real Estate.

Rehab Addict was also pulled from the HGTV lineup after only two episodes of the new season aired last month. The show’s star, Nicole Curtis, clarified via Instagram, though, that it was her decision to pull the show and not HGTV’s.
“I made the executive decision to shelf the rest of our new shows until fall. I appreciate your support and understanding for the late notice,” she wrote on Instagram in June. “It’s just a lot of hours (my hours) to get a show on air and we (my family + me) thought – why are we giving up summer when we have the ability to do this in the fall?”
Christina, Tarek and Heather have not yet addressed the cancellation of their shows.

I think “The Flip Off” works because people like conflict, tension, and competition.
Christina and Tarek are boring separately, imo. But I like them together on screen. Like Kate and Jon Gosselin.
