We TV’s new series This Is Poly follows the lives of five “wildly different” polycules– aka interconnected groups of people in polyamorous relationships– as they build lives and families outside of the traditional relationship norms. 

The new series will also explore the emotional realities that come with polyamory– jealously, commitment, communication issues and trust, to name a few– as those who engage in the lifestyle redefine what it means to be a family. 

Meet the five polycules of ‘This Is Poly’ below: 

Kami, Trent & Nita (Redding, California) 

Kami and Trent are a married couple, who reality TV fans may recognize from Season 1 of We TV’s Love After Lockup. The husband and wife come from a very strict religious background, so needless to say, their friends and family are unaware of their new lifestyle and the fact that they’re in a polycule with Nita. 

As the throuple plan a commitment ceremony to honor their “forever” with Nita, the trio must also figure out how to reveal their relationship news to loved ones and prepare to face whatever reactions come with it.   

The Yahwehs (Orlando, Florida) 

A whopping 22 people make up the Yahweh Family, led by “king” Yahweh Poetic and his four “queens,” Yahweh De’Bash, Yahweh Madi, Yahweh Krystal and Yahweh Jazmin. With 17 kids currently in the mix and more babies on the way, Yahweh Madi and Yahweh Krystal are still adjusting to their new “polycule” lifestyle, which leads these two “queens” to lash out at each other. 

Additionally, Yahweh Madi and Yahweh Poetic’s struggles to conceive a child have the two considering IVF; however, when the Yahweh Family faces their biggest challenge yet, it might be enough to send Yahweh Madi over the edge. 

BQ & Tehmeena (Long Island, New York) 

BQ and Tehmeena are without a partner as they work to recover from BQ’s many infidelities. While the couple is attempting to get back to living a polyamorous lifestyle, it’s worth noting that they got into the poly world in an effort to curb BQ’s cheating in the first place. Though BQ insists he’s no longer cheating, Tehmeena has her doubts– and some receipts. 

Despite BQ’s actions (alleged or otherwise),Tehmeena still loves him, but needs him to show her some real commitment or risk losing her forever.

Becca, Jacob & Davis (Raleigh, North Carolina)

Becca, Jacob and Davis own a tattoo shop together and, despite Jacob (who is Becca’s husband) and Davis both being in love with Becca, the two aren’t friends. Instead, Jacob and Davis have independent relationships with Becca and do not date each other. The trio’s already complicated situation became even more complicated when Davis proposed to Becca without telling Jacob first. 

Fans will watch on ‘This is Poly’ as Becca, Jacob and Davis work to adjust to the new dynamic of their polycule, while also running their business. 

Marley & Bri (Las Vegas, Nevada) 

Marley and Bri are on the hunt for a third woman to join their polycule, and if all goes well, they’re hoping to add a fourth, fifth and sixth down the road. 

The twosome (for now) were previously part of a larger polycule with Marley’s ex-husband, who she still remains legally married to. As a result of Marley’s marital status, Bri must decide how long she can maintain her current relationship, as she knows there may be a deeper reason as to why Marley hasn’t followed through with a divorce. In the meantime, Marley and Bri continue to date prospective partners while making plans to grow their polycule.

‘This Is Poly’ premieres May 29 on We TV. The series premiere will air immediately after the season premiere of ‘Love After Lockup.’
