Former ‘Teen Mom’ Star Nathan Griffith Moved to New Prison; His Wife May Oyola Defends Staying with Him & Explains Him Cheating on Her

“We’re fine! Everything’s fine! I mean, whose husband HASN’T lived with other girls and then gone to prison?!”

As former Teen Mom 2 dad Nathan Griffith remains locked up in prison, his wife, May Oyola, is standing by her man, despite their extremely toxic situation.

For those of you who managed to block out Nathan’s most recent soulmate saga, the convicted felon– who shares son Kaiser with Jenelle Evans– pleaded guilty in May to a charge of “Battery Constituting Domestic Violence- Strangulation” as part of a plea agreement. That felony charge stemmed from Nathan’s April arrest for strangling then-girlfriend Anastasia Biddle. At the time of his arrest, Nathan was already on probation for strangling his own sister in 2023, and had failed out of multiple rehab and veteran’s court programs over the last two years.

Nathan and Anastasia before his arrest…

Despite Nathan declaring his obsession love for Anastasia on social media just months ago, May– who’s been married to Nate since 2022– made it clear that she had taken Nathan back despite him leaving him for Anastasia during their marriage. May proved that Nathan was once again her soulmate by posting a photo to Instagram of flowers Nate had sent her from inside the clink.

Who knew the penitentiary had a floral shop!?

Since then, May has continued to share content on social media in recent months that suggests she and Nate have made amends. She perpetuated that narrative even further this week when she chose (for some reason) to do a Q&A on social media.

While answering questions from followers, May was asked about the timeline of Nathan and Anastasia’s relationship, specifically if she and Nate were separated at the time or if Nate had cheated on her. In true everyone-adjacent-to-Nathan fashion, May responded with a totally logically explanation for her husband’s extramarital affair.

“Ufff! Too much to answer… for what he says it was a huge mistake that made him realize how much he wants our family and the commitment he took with our marriage!” May wrote.

Later on, May– who is running Nathan’s Instagram page as he sits behind bars– posted a photo of herself sporting a belly button ring with Nathan’s initial, which she also took the liberty of reposting to Nate’s Instagram Story.

Unfortunately for Nate’s other half, Nathan will be maxin’ and relaxin’ in the big house for a while. As The Ashley previously reported, Nate was sentenced to a minimum of 14 months in prison (with a maximum sentence of 48 months) during a court hearing in May.

However, The Ashley can confirm that Jenelle’s former soulmate recently got “upgraded” to some new digs, courtesy of the Nevada Department of Corrections! On Thursday, the prison system moved Nathan to what will likely be his permanent facility to serve out his sentence: the Southern Desert Correctional Facility. The medium-security facility is located in Indian Springs, Nevada, just north of Las Vegas.

Unfortunately for Nathan, his new location is hardly The Ritz (or even The Land). The Southern Desert Correctional Center was hit with  violations last year in the areas of food safety and sanitation. It was also the scene of headlining-making prison riots in both 2022 and 2021.

“I’m more concerned that they don’t sell protein powder in the prison commissary. Is that even LEGAL!? I have weightlifting gains to keep up with, people! COME ON!”

Nathan’s new prison does offer several programs that are designed to help prisoners struggling with substance abuse issues, as well as programs to help inmates reintegrate into society, both of which the judge in Nate’s case recommended for him. There are also several programs that teach inmates trades like HVAC, automotive repair and forklift operation.

Nathan is allowed visitors, so if May (or even his baby mama Jenelle) would like to visit him, they are allowed to do so on certain days.

Nathan’s relocation was apparently cause for a Kodak moment, as he was required to take a new mugshot.

Nathan’s new muggy is suitable for framing, if you ask The Ashley…

As The Ashley told you, Nathan will be spending 14-48 months in prison. Although Nathan pleaded for leniency during his sentencing hearing in May, the judge said he had messed up way too many times for leniency.

“The judge told him ‘You are a danger to others and you’re going to kill someone,’” The Sun reported. “Nathan’s attorney really tried everything he could, but the judge said she had given Nathan enough chances, and that this wasn’t even his first probation violation.”

The Nevada Department of Corrections reported that Nate started his sentence on May 17.

  1. Also, wanted to add this. So many women on the outside and wonder why these girls don’t come forward. One of the things about Nathan is when you get to know him, he does not seem like the same person as he is portrayed to be on teen mom. He makes it very clear that part of it is acting and they literally would do stuff to trigger him and it’s literally the worst parts of you being shown on TV. But the thing is, once you get to know him like truly truly know him and see the darkest parts of him, you realize that the person on TV is not who he truly is because in reality, he’s actually much darker. He literally love bombs you and makes you feel complete and whole in a way that nobody ever has before. He literally changes who he is to fit the person that you want him to be. He will literally do anything for you. But he also plays the victim so all the red flags are not seen as red flags, they are seen as insecurities and you view him as the victim. You understand why he needs to see your location. You understand why he constantly needs validation. You understand all of these things instead of seeing them as red flags. You feel bad for him. And somehow through all the love bombing, you fall in love with him, and you do things with him that you’ve never done before. One of those things for me personally was I let him record us doing sexual things. I was really worried about it at first, especially because of my job, but he assured me that he had an app on his phone that nobody else knew the password to and nobody else would see them. He said that he wanted the video so that way he could use them to pleasure himself when needed. And I was OK with that because I thought that was a better than him cheating on me because I know he had a history of cheating. And again, I thought he was my forever. He literally was OK with me getting pregnant. He literally had a plan like a whole timeline of when we would get married. Then when things got bad between us and the drinking became worse, exes were coming into the picture, he began cheating on me, and then the domestic abuse started, he threatened me. He showed me that he had all those videos in his phone, and then upon that there was literally videos and photos of all of his access. Hundreds. So in reality, all those videos and photos are more of a security for him. They basically keep all those women in shock. They keep those women from coming forward. They keep those women from posting all the horrible videos of him online. Because if he would release those videos of me, for example, I know 100% I would lose my career that I worked so hard for. And I know some of his other exes Also hold prestigious jobs, and degrees so videos and photos cannot be floating around online without it, literally ruining your career. So even though I did contact the cops because I was literally afraid and I really wanted to get a restraining order or do something to protect myself even though the police in my state couldn’t do shit, I have always been tempted and I’m still tempted to release a lot of the videos and photos over the years just to get the harassment to stop because like I said, even when he got married, I thought the calls would stop and they didn’t. Then when he got his new little girlfriend that was posted all over social media, I thought the calls would stop and literally he was calling me the day they got matching tattoos. Honestly, I don’t think the costs will ever stop. And again I know it’s not just me. I know he has a whole list of women that he does this too. A whole list of women that have blocked him and want him out of their lives for good and it will never stop unless someone gets his phone and literally clears his contacts as well as everything on the cloud. And I wish that the right person sees this and will not just remove the app from his phone because he can just re-download it but actually go and delete his account. Remove his email, change the passwords, literally delete the hundreds of videos that he has of all of his exes. It’s not right. It’s not fair.

  2. Posting anonymously because I know back then I didn’t want the intention and I surely don’t want it now. And if that’s the case for me, I’m sure there’s many others. I was in a relationship with Nathan and have videos and photos of how toxic he is. He would do steroids and drink heavily every day (starting at breakfast and would finish a few bottles of whatever was lying around) throughout the day. He was extremely jealous and controlling (checking my phone, location, calling/texting nonstop, etc.). When things got physical, I ended our relationship because I began to see the red flags and love bombing for what it was. He would show up at my home unannounced all the time. I blocked his number and would receive HUNDREDS of calls a day from blocked numbers. I tried to get the police involved to stop the harassment and because I hadn’t filed any of the domestic stuff, they wouldn’t do anything (my states laws SUCK). I literally would stay away from my house all day and go to different gyms, different routes, etc. so my routine was never the same because I was scared. As soon as I was able to move, I did. The harassment carried on for YEARS even after I moved farther away, got married and had kids. I downloaded an app that would unmask his blocked number and reblock it because it never stopped. I literally still got calls even after he got married and then when he got a new gf. The calls only ended once he went to jail and honestly, I know they’ll start again once he is out. And I know I’m not the only girl in my position. I know there are way more girls that he “loved”, and then abused and harassed and will literally continue to harass. He needs help. He needs to get clean FOR GOOD, quit blaming everyone else and calling himself the victim and also using religion as a scapegoat / manipulating the Bible to fit his needs / his alpha-ness / his excuse to do what he does. He truly is a narcissist and I can honestly say that is the one person in my life that I wish I had never met.

  3. WTF. Why does May insist on defending him and any of his choices?! Honey, he CHEATED on you and this isn’t the first time and will NOT be the last time. And also, when he’s cheated, he makes a public spectacle of it- As if he’s literally rubbing her face in it and she takes him back because he sent flowers with a bible verse?! Let’s not forget that he has literally assaulted you as well. You cannot make up excuses for a man that is obviously only “realize(ing) how much he wants (y)our family and the commitment he took with (y)our marriage” (eyeroll) because he’s locked up and no one else wants his sorry ass! He also needs someone to put money on his books so let’s not act like he’s doing this out of good intention- like everything else he has one person in mind- himself. He can’t even be a father to his existing child, Kaiser! Wake TF up, May! SMH

    1. You forgot he’s also a father to a girl who he had before Kaiser. He’s been a deadbeat dad since the beginning. And this girl May acting like Nathan only stepped out with Anastasia. Nope! He was arrested for strangling a girlfriend that he was dating while married to May. Then, while on probation for that, he strangled his sister. After completing veterans court, and still on probation, he started dating Anastasia, where he picked up his fourth strangulation charge. His first charge was that girl Jessica that appeared on teen mom with him that had black hair. This May woman is delusional. Maybe she needs him for her green card but how can she not see he’s all of a sudden back in love with her cause she’s all that’s left?

  4. “Ufff! Too much to answer… for what he says it was a huge mistake that made him realize how much he wants our family and the commitment he took with our marriage!” May wrote.

WTF! I think Nathan just wants to make sure he has commissary money and attention while locked away. Thats why he’s on good terms with Jenelle and May.

    1. He wants a pen pal and someone to talk to on the phone . There is a restraining order with the other chick he will catch new charges . He does get military money and can most likely load his own money so I don’t think that is the reason other than making sure she takes care of the dog.

      1. Thats true. Nathan reportedly does get military disability. We dont know how much he actually gets though and what financial obligations he has. Im assuming he’s had a lawyer through his multiple court proceedingsthe last few years. There might be restitution or court fees.

I dont think he pays child support for Kaiser, but he might be for his daughter. Any loan payments (car…etc) and credit cards he’d still be on the hook for while incarcerated.

I dont know how well Nathan has managed his money, but I’m assuming not well due to the rest of his life being a mess and him having addiction issues.

  5. I’ve always given him the benefit of the doubt because of his brain injury and PTSD but I just can’t anymore. He’s going to seriously hurt or kill his next soulmate or wife. He has an established m.o, love bomb them with everything he has, quote scripture, get a damn dog he doesn’t need, and then he stars controlling their phones, email and even who they look at, it’s crazy. He needs to realize that he has several serious problems and fix them one by one and the only place he can do that without drugs and female distraction is prison. Hopefully they have programs for him but if not he needs to fix it himself but most of all he needs to be honest with himself and unfortunately up to now he’s been unsuccessful. Until he’s “fixed” he needs to stay in jail because he’s unsafe. It’s a sad situation.

    1. He’s deranged for sure. I hate it when people like him, Dakota Meyer or Track Palin use their PTSD as an excuse to be violent/abusive. Their behavior is a choice; many people have PTSD and get help/don’t strangle, stalk or threaten their significant others.

  6. I’ll be devils advocate here and say I hope Nate gets the mental health help he so clearly needs and has been let down on receiving from the VA.
The guy has a brain injury and PTSD. Sober Nate seems alright? He needs to address the issues of his drinking and attend regular therapy.
Maybe with some unconditional support from May (and hopefully VA) he can get the proper help he so desperately needs so he’s not a threat to women in society.

    1. I’m sorry. Did you just say he was let down by the VA in regards to help that he needs? Like they didn’t put him in MULTIPLE programs that he didn’t follow?

      1. This! The VA isn’t the problem, Nathan is the one that didn’t accept the help and take it seriously. If he had, he wouldn’t be sitting in jail right now.

    2. He is choosing to act this way. PTSD is not an excuse – many people (veterans included) have it but don’t go around strangling their loved ones.

Also, the VA is losing most of its employees due to DOGE/Trump, so things will get far worse for veterans. I deal with them several times a year (I’m a veteran) and they were hardly helpful or timely to begin with. Forget about receiving any assistance now…

  7. I hope they keep Ol’ Nate locked up for a LONG time! He ABANDONED his son Kaiser for almost all of Kaiser’s life, & he allowed Kaiser to be abused and neglected by David and Jenelle! AND he’s a PROVEN DANGER to women!!

  8. I love how Nathan has to specify his last name, as though May has had multiple husbands named Nathan.

On a more serious note, May can (and will) do astronomically better than Nathan, if she gives herself that gift. He has already shown the world who he is and has only gotten worse with time.

  9. At least this judge had some sense. He’s not just going to hurt another woman, he’s going to kill her. He doesn’t want help because he doesn’t see himself as the problem.

    1. Exactly! When a domestic abuser gets to the point of strangulation it’s literally only a matter of time before he kills someone. This is textbook he needs to remain behind bars.

    2. He for sure will kill someone at some point. He has strangled several significant others AND his sister – so many red flags.

  10. Hmmm. Something about a prisoner sending gifts is just … No. Absolutely not. That can go left quickly.

Maybe he can beat up on mens for once. Oh, wait.

  11. Despite his size, I think Nathan will end up in some type of “Sensitive Needs Yard” or a dormitory that houses inmates with mental health issues. Otherwise his temper will get him in trouble and unlike his usual victims, hardened convicts fight back. I sure hope the V.A. doesn’t give him year another chance or special program like usual. It’s not going to work.

    1. And on top of all that the nature of his offences really may not go over well at least with some. Betting being both a bother to these guys and a serial woman strangler and all doesn’t bode super well for his incarnation experience.

  12. She’s stupid. There is no other word for it. And his card is lame. This guy is literally trying to use the Bible to fool this chick into thinking he is a catch. Somehow some stinky flowers and a lame card erases the fact that he literally put his ding-a-ling in a whole other woman while married to her dumbass. Why would anyone want to be with a serial abuser?

    Just for May:

Thou shalt not be with those that strangle women. Thy God don’t play. -Gemma 1:1

    Your welcome.

  13. hopefully nathan takes his sources in the prison seriously and gets the help he needs and may or her family look for help for herself as well because OOF 🤦🏻‍♀️ all women need to learn there’s no reward for staying at some point but omfg

    1. Sadly I doubt he will. He has had court ordered help that didn’t stop him from strangling the next girl.

Men like Nathan don’t think they need help. In his mind he isn’t the problem. Whatever girl he is with is the problem. He probably says “Why did you make me do that!” after he is done choking them.

  14. He’s “making amends” because his last girl kicked him out or whatever happened, and he’s in jail sweetie. This is not good for you , please ladies eventually get to the point where you see through these guys and don’t mess with them. Stay away!

    1. This was the prudent move for him to assure he has a fool on the outside to take care of things for him and to also make sure he has money on his books. He’s smarter than I thought maybe. 🤦🏻‍♀️
