Christine Brown isn’t ready to forgive ex-husband Kody Brown for the myriad of missteps he made during and after their 25-year marriage, though the Sister Wives star revealed this week that she’ll consider making amends once Kody has made things right with his children.
In a new interview with Access Hollywood’s Reality Nightcap, the mom of six addressed the seemingly “heartfelt apology” fans see her receiving from Kody in the Season 20 trailer, insisting that the moment was both shocking and insincere.
“Well, I think the apology was for him, it wasn’t for me,” Christine said, adding that she can’t even think about the on-camera apology without her “mind being blown.”
“You’re going to see it, it’s going to shock you, the whole apology– ALL of the apologies, all of it,” Christine claimed, presumably referring to Kody’s apologies to his other ex-wives, Meri and Janelle, which are also shown in the trailer for the upcoming season.
As fans of ‘Sister Wives’ know, Kody shares 12 adult children and one minor child with his three ex-wives and is reportedly estranged from many (if not the majority) of them. He also shares five children with his only remaining wife, Robyn, though all of those relationships currently remain intact.
While Kody vowed in Season 19 to reconcile with his children before his 56th birthday (which he celebrated in January, FYI), Christine confirmed this week that her ex remains on the outs with most of his offspring. Until Kody makes an effort to remedy that situation, Christine said doesn’t want to hear the apology he has for her.
“When he fixes his relationship with his kids, that’s when I’ll accept the apology,” Christine stated. “Like, take care of your kids, reach out to your kids, call them, spend time with them and work on that relationship and then at that point we can talk apology.
“It’s an action that should happen, not just words,” she continued. “Words don’t mean a thing, it’s just words.”
Christine– who referred to Kody as a “deadbeat dad” in an October radio interview– went on to claim this week that, while some of her kids insist that they’ve made peace with the Kody situation, they’re still hurting.
“My kids are heartbroken,” she claimed. “Even the ones that talk about how they’ve moved on [and] they’ve accepted that this is their dad, this is what he does … .”
Christine went on to admit that the great relationship she shares with her own dad only makes the situation between her kids and Kody more “heartbreaking.”
“I love my dad,” she said. “I love my relationship with him and it’s one of my favorite relationships that I have. So I can’t imagine what it’s like for my kids to not have a great relationship with their dad. It’s heartbreaking for me.”
Christine also revealed to the outlet that she was shocked to see clips during the Season 19 One-on-One of Kody expressing regret over comments he made about his trio of former spouses that season– namely him claiming that he never loved them– insisting that Kody’s attempt to make amends “was all for him.”
“It was his apology, he needed to hear it more than anybody,” she said. “He had his agenda that he needed to do.”
Season 20 of ‘Sister Wives’ premieres Sunday, September 28 on TLC.

Completely unrelated but I honestly think Kody could ALMOST be attractive if he let go of his attachment to his ramen noodles and creepy faces.
Have you not watched the first seasons? He didn’t always have that hairstyle and he was never attractive
You know, in all fairness, he’s a d!ck but she’s not blameless in her children’s dysfunctional upbringing. She was the child of plural marriage and wanted the same for her own children. She needs to own her own crap.
I agree, I think she loved being the youngest and newest wife and Robyn coming along made her old news and she couldn’t handle it. She overlooked a lot of mistreatment of the children trying to keep Kody happy.
I think you have to give her some grace though, she was brought up in it and only ever witnessed women being second class citizens and treating their husbands like gods! She was brainwashed!
Oh definitely. Then she left and got so caught up in the attention of being the victim that it went to her head and now she’s insufferable. It’s now very clear where Mykelti got her attention seeking ways and it wasn’t just from Kody. Her kids were mistreated and went without because of her too. She’s not the saint so many people are treating her like. Every single adult in that family failed those children.
