Kate Gosselin is answering the questions she’s most-frequently asked, while also revealing that she’s quietly been in a relationship for over a year.
TLC‘s most-famous divorcee took to TikTok on Monday to answer her fans’ questions, many of which seemed to be centered around the Kate Plus 8 star’s dating life— or lack thereof. Kate– who famously divorced her husband Jon Gosselin in 2009 at the height of their family’s reality TV fame– has previously stated that she has not had much luck finding love since her divorce, despite her going on her cringy dating show Kate Plus Date in 2019.
In her latest TikTok, Kate answered questions about her current relationship status, as well as inquiries about whether or not she has plans to return to her signature short ‘n’ spiky ‘do from the mid-2000s.
When asked if she is dating, Kate seemed very happy to report that she is, and has been for a while.
“The answer to that question is actually, finally, yes,” Kate said. “I’ve been dating somebody for the past year, little over a year, maybe like 14 or 15 months. I’m super, super happy.”
Although Kate didn’t reveal her beau’s name, she did give some hints as to who he is.
“It’s somebody I’ve known for a really long time,” she said. “I am really, really happy but he doesn’t really want to be on TikTok. I can’t blame him really, I guess. But you perhaps will catch a peep of him here and there once in a while [on my TikTok] going forward.”
In the comment section of her post, Kate told her followers that “I’m so so happy….. finally!”

As ‘Kate Plus 8’ fans are well aware, Kate had a very full house for a long time, due to her and Jon having eight kids. (They share 24-year-old twins Mady and Cara, and 21-year-old sextuplets Leah, Alexis, Joel, Aaden, Hannah and Collin.) While Collin and Hannah have lived with Jon for years, all of the kids who used to live with Kate are currently going to college and no longer living full-time with their mom.
“It’s so nice to be HAPPY and not lonely anymore,” Kate wrote in response to one of the comments left on her post.
“Are you ever going to go back to short hair? No!” she said. “I never plan on it probably until I’m an old lady in a nursing home or something. I plan on leaving my hair long even though it’s a lot to deal with.”

Whats really funny is that Kate goes on her lives…has fun, is working hard, and its all lighthearted and good. Jon is going on and his are complaning and bashing and nastyness. I never would have guessed that people would actually switch and KATE is the one people are liking more these days.
Does she ever smile? I just got married and we’ve been together for 5 years and I still smile when someone asks me about him. It just seems weird to have zero emotion about anything in her life: not her kids, her man…
I mean, unlike most of the breeders on the Ashley website, at least she kept her kids from having men in and out of her life constantly while they grew up. She’s back to working a regular job. Mild redemption arc for Kate. But WOOF that haircut will live in infamy.
Men in and out of their life would have been the least of their issues with the absolute batshit crazy they lived with on the daily. Maybe they’d introduce a tiny bit of stability now and then. At least Colin likely wouldn’t have been abused as much as he was if there was another adult in the home from time to time.
Definitely not a redemption arc, mild or otherwise, she’s still batshit crazy, still trying to stay relevant and it wouldn’t surprise me if her job wasn’t quite as secure as she makes it seem. If it was, she wouldn’t need to constantly still do interviews or try and make the whole social media thing pay her. Her half-assed side hustles make me think she’s still struggling financially, which makes almost zero sense because she has no children living in the home with her.
The boyfriend is Steve the bodyguard and it’s been way longer than a year. He’s just divorced now so they can admit it. 🤣
