Kate Gosselin‘s kids aren’t publicly sticking up for her amid the backlash she’s been receiving since the release of Collin Gosselin‘s book, and now the disgraced reality TV mom is explaining their silence.
As The Ashley has previously reported, Kate has yet to release a formal statement regarding her estranged son Collin‘s tell-all book. However, the ‘Kate Plus 8’ star has been fighting for her life (and reputation) in the comment section of her recent TikTok posts. She recently ramped up her posting, accusing Collin of purposely omitting his bad childhood behavior in his book— including, she says, the times he allegedly killed animals and was violent toward her and his seven siblings. (Collin denied these claims in a recent statement.)
Now, Kate is revealing why only one of her other seven kids has spoken out publicly regarding Collin’s book.

(Hannah remains the only Gosselin kid who has released a statement as of press time. The other siblings— Mady, Cara, Alexis, Leah, Joel and Aaden have stated silent.)
Kate— who has denied that she abused Collin when he was a child, and maintained that he was violent toward their family members— stated that her other kids don’t want to be dragged into this situation.
“They do not want to be involved and I support them on that,” Kate said of her kids. “They are busy in college or living productive lives in their careers. They don’t have interest in reliving the trauma [from Collin] and they certainly don’t need to ‘help’ their mom!”

In another comment, Kate told her followers that the seven other Gosselin kids are used to Collin accusing her of abuse.
“Sadly, I have been dealing with this with him and his outlandish lies accusations for so many years that me and my other kids are used to it and have built a sort of tolerance to it,” she wrote.
In other comments on the same TikTok post, Kate implied that Collin “killed animals” and “tried to assault multiple people with weapons.”
“Did your baby ever assault (with a weapon) you or his sibling or anyone else before, during and after his release?” Kate asked someone who claimed her child was in a similar situation as Collin was. “Did he kill animals for fun? No? Okay fair enough. Maybe then you don’t understand.”
While Kate didn’t go into detail about Collin allegedly chasing her or a sibling with a weapon, she did “heart” a comment that reminded people that one of Collin’s sisters claimed that “he chased her around with a knife.”
The Ashley believes she is talking about Mady here. In 2023, Mady released a long statement in which she made similar accusations against Collin. In the statement, Mady wrote that Collin “has physically threatened me and every member of my immediate family (some incidents as recent as last year).” She also accused her brother of exhibiting “hateful and even violent behavior towards others based [on] their racial identity, gender identity, or religious beliefs to be in my life.”
Anyway, Kate continued to scold her followers who minimized her claims that Collin got violent with his siblings.
“I’m completely horrified seeing so many ppl on here normalizing kids chasing each other with knives,” she wrote. “You’re going to these GREAT LENGTHS to excuse his VIOLENT behavior?! Wow.”

Kate also defended herself for speaking up against Collin.
“I was ‘guilty’ when I was silent and now that I’m responding, I guess I’m saying too much that is true and that makes sense so now they say I’m ‘guilty’ for answering,” she wrote. “What a bunch of bitter haters! I AM happy and nothing they can say can change that!”
“[His claims make] me look like I was mistreating him when I was actually trying to keep him, his brothers and sisters, myself and our pets SAFE,” she wrote in response to someone else who criticized her actions.
One person wrote that “a child should never have to heal from their own mother, to which someone else replied that, “children shouldn’t have to heal because of their own sibling,” a comment that Kate “hearted.”

Kate also responded to several comments that stated that Collin was only 11 when he was institutionalized, making them doubt that Kate’s claims of violent behavior are true.
“I’m stating undeniable fact in response to his continuous claims of child abuse,” Kate wrote. “I’m explaining to you some of what happened because some people can’t comprehend ‘just how bad/dangerous’ an 11-year old’s behavior can be. You shouldn’t ask questions you don’t want the answer to.”

Collin, Jon and several others have denied Kate’s claims that Collin has mental health issues, (with Jon even implying recently that she may get sued if she doesn’t shut her trap about Collin being mentally ill.) However, Kate continues to insist that Collin has “multiple psych diagnoses” and those “don’t magically disappear one day.”
“I don’t know who assessed him [as an adult] or what their credentials are, or if it’s even real or accurate,” she wrote. “All I can say is that he had multiple psych diagnoses, made by a pediatric psychiatrist and had an extensive evaluation over multiple days done by an independent psychologist and was also seen by multiple therapists. His violent behavior led to him being committed to a psychiatric facility for his safety and the safety of those around him.”
“The right time and place, I’ll state facts and clear all of this up,” Kate told someone else who asked her to tell her side of the story.

After Kate made the claims about Collin killing animals and using weapons on people, his rep released a statement denying that there is any truth to what Kate said.
“Let us be absolutely clear: Collin has never used a weapon to harm a family member, nor has he ever harmed or killed an animal in his lifetime,” Collin’s rep, Adriane Schwartz, told Page Six. “These allegations are categorically false… To publicly accuse your innocent child of such heinous acts to protect your reputation is beyond reprehensible.”

Why in the hell would they comment? The whole thing is a cesspool. They are smart as hell not to comment. Keep their private lives private. They comment that all goes away.
