Beaver Family Update: Mom of ‘Teen Mom: Young & Pregnant’ Star Rachel Beaver Hospitalized Following Serious Surgery; Rachel’s Sister Malorie Convicted of Second DUI

“The Beavers are goin’ through it, y’all.”

It’s been more than three years since Teen Mom: Young & Pregnant star Rachel Beaver appeared on MTV along with her family; however, it appears that the Beavers are currently going through a very trying time– both medically and legally.

Starcasm reports that Rachel’s mom, Stephanie Beaver, is currently recovering from “major surgery in her colon,” which is expected to take more than a month to heal. Stephanie’s health issues have caused her to temporarily close her restaurant, thus preventing her from bringing in any income at this time. As a result, Stephanie’s mother, Janice Bollen, has launched a GoFundMe in her daughter’s “time of need.”

“My daughter Stephanie has been in the hospital and very sick for the past 3 weeks with a really bad infection that required major surgery in her colon,” Janice wrote in the fundraiser description. “The surgery was only supposed to be 4 hours long, but when they went in, it was so much worse than they thought, so it ended up taking 8 hours. She now has five holes and a very large C-section-sized cut in the lower part of her belly.”

Janice went on to mention Stephanie’s financial situation due to her restaurant being closed “for now,” noting that her daughter has to cover her existing bills, as well as her “expensive hospital stay and surgery bills, along with any medication they want her to take.”

“Now would be the perfect time to fire up that MTV filmin’ show again…”

“The doctors told her it was going to take 4-6 weeks to heal enough to even get to where she needs to be,” Janice continued, adding that her daughter is “a well-known, respected member of her community and would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it.”

Following the launch of the GoFundMe, Stephanie explained to followers on Instagram that her mother started the fundraiser to help cover her bills as she recovers, revealing that she’s currently using a walker and “can’t stand for a long period of time.”

Rachel has also shared the link to her mom’s online fundraiser multiple times, while asking fans to “please pray” for Stephanie.

“She had a very serious surgery & is on bed rest for the next 2 weeks & cannot work or life or really move much,” she wrote in one of her Instagram Stories.

“Any donations help!” Rachel wrote in another Instagram Story. “It would be greatly appreciated. She’s the best Mimi & we just want to see her get better & not have to stress over how she’s going to pay her bills.”

While Rachel’s mom is recovering in the hospital, her sister, Malorie Beaver, has managed to rack up another driving under the influence (DUI) charge. According to Starcasm, Malorie– who also appeared on ‘Young & Pregnant’– was found guilty last week of DUI Second Offense.

Malorie, when asked if she got busted for another DUI…

In the state of Tennessee, those with a second DUI charge face 45 days to a year behind bars, as well as a mandatory fine of $600 to $3,500. Second-time offenders may also have their license revoked for 2 years (with restricted license available), may be subject to vehicle seizure/forfeiture and be ordered to attend an alcohol and drug treatment program. Offenders may also be ordered to pay restitution to any person suffering personal injury or loss.

Those who receive two DUI convictions within the span of five years are also required to have an Ignition Interlock Device installed in their vehicle for six months after their license has been reinstated, with the device being installed at the offender’s expense.

Starcasm reports that Malorie was also facing an implied consent charge for refusing to submit to a breath or blood test, as well as traffic citations for following too closely and not exercising due care, though the consent charge and both citations were dismissed.

Malorie received her first DUI charge in August 2020 at the age of 20, during which she was arrested for both DUI and underage drinking. Malorie went on to plead guilty to the DUI charge and was sentenced to one year of probation and ordered to pay a $250 fine, while her underage drinking charge was dismissed.

Malorie’s 2020 DUI marked the second time she landed behind bars that year, as she had been booked for domestic assault six months earlier following an altercation with her grandma Janice.

According to an update posted by Starcasm, Malorie was booked into county jail on Wednesday. It is unknown how long her sentence is.

  1. Why can’t the family step in and keep the restaurant operating with the staff? Surely Stephanie wasn’t the only one working in it?

  3. Stephanie, you should try applying for state Medicaid. With all those expenses and unable to work, you may get approved…God speed

  4. I actually like Stephanie, she had her demons but took accountability for her actions, got herself in a good place, and really tried to care for her children and grandchildren, I hope she has a full recovery and can get back into her restaurant
