‘Teen Mom’ News Pile: Catelynn Lowell’s Little Brother Is Going to Be Teen Dad, Whitney Purvis Avoids Another Arrest & More

“He’s joining the family business: teen parenthood!”

From having babies to having barely escaped arrest, it’s been a busy week for the stars/former stars of the “Teen Mom” franchise! In an effort to bring you up-to-date on the latest “Teen Mom” news, The Ashley brings you the Teen Mom News Pile.

Here are some of the major (and minor but interesting) ‘Teen Mom’-related things that happened over the last week or so…

Catelynn Lowell’s Little Brother Nick Radtke Announces He’s Going to Be a Teen Dad

“Hey MTV, you got any ‘Teen Dad’ spin-offs in the works?”

You know we’re getting old when the much-younger siblings of the ‘Teen Mom’ stars are now having their own babies!

Nick Radtke— who is the little brother of Catelynn Lowell— announced on Christmas Eve that he’s going to be a father. In a post to Instagram, Nick— who is 19 years old— revealed that his girlfriend Emma Smith are expecting their first child in June.

“Welp, Santa has brought me the greatest gift I’ve ever received. I’m having a baby y’all,” Nick captioned the announcement photos. “May 2026!”

‘Teen Mom’ fans will remember Nick appearing on ‘Teen Mom’ starting around the age of three. He is the youngest child of Cate’s mom April. (Despite what many fans assumed, April’s ex-husband Butch Baltierra is not Nick’s father.) Nick and Catelynn were once very close, as Catelynn helped raise her little brother. (Sadly, in 2023 they had a big falling out and it doesn’t appear that their relationship has fully recovered since then.)

I don’t care how old he is, Nick will always be the five-year-old sobbing in a Michael Myers mask to me…

After Nick became a teenager, he was featured in a memorable scene in which Catelynn talked to him about safe sex. (Nick later blasted MTV for “pressuring” him into doing the scene.)

“Here I am, a little 14-year-old who just got a girlfriend. We had been dating for around three months,” Nick says in the 2023 video. “My mom gets a text message from our producer. He saying, ‘Nick has a girlfriend? Well, we would love for him to talk about his sex life’… It was something I did not want to do. And she was telling me like, ‘Hey, your story will be able to help other teens out there and make them think to maybe not have children’ and all that.”

Clearly the “safe sex” talk he received from Catelynn didn’t resonate, as Nick is set to become a teen dad in June.

On TikTok, Nick responded to backlash about the pregnancy, stating that he is employed. In the comments section of his Instagram post, Nick also stated that he and Emma are married.

Catelynn and Tyler have not addressed the situation publicly, nor has April.

Troubled “16 and Pregnant” Star Whitney Purvis Narrowly Escapes Yet Another Arrest

“Thank God I didn’t go to jail again! They don’t have photo filters for mugshots in there!”

Legally-challenged “16 and Pregnant” star Whitney almost spent her Christmas behind bars!

Earlier this week, Us Weekly reported that Whitney— who starred on the very first season of the show alongside Maci Bookout and Amber Portwood, etc.— received yet another order for her arrest recently, due to her owing more than $23,000 in child support to her ex-husband Weston Gosa. (Whitney had two children with Weston— Weston Jr.– who sadly passed away at the age of 16 earlier this year— and River. Both boys lived with their father for most of their lives.)

Whitney with her son Weston Jr…

Although the judge ordered Whitney to be arrested, she was able to avoid jail by paying a lump sum of $4,000. She is still required to pay Weston $353 in child support a month for River, as well as $20 a month toward the arears.

As The Ashley previously reported, Whitney spent some time behind bars in 2025, after she was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter in July. She received the charge after she allegedly supplied a friend with the street drug Tranq, which ended up killing him. She was also charged with drug possession and intent to distribute. (Those charges are still pending.)

Days after she was released on bond, the “16 and Pregnant” star was arrested again, this time in a new county in Georgia. She picked up a violation of probation charge, as well as two felony counts of Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance.

She also picked up a spiffy new mugshot for the occasion.

Whitney’s second muggie of the summer…

Whitney bonded out of jail in late August, after spending nearly two months in the clink. As of press time, she remains out on bond.

Cheyenne Floyd Responds to Fans Who Are Angry At Her for Not Showing Her Newborn’s Face Online

Cheyenne welcomed her third child earlier this month, but the ‘Teen Mom’ star’s decision to not publicly show the infant’s face has rubbed some fans the wrong way.

Although Cheyenne has blasted the faces of her eldest two children— daughter Ryder (whom she shares with Cory Wharton) and son Ace (whose dad is Chey’s husband Zach Davis— across The Interwebs, she has purposely covered the face of her new baby, Saint.

Cheyenne and Zach have received a lot of criticism for not showing Saint’s face online, with many stating that it’s odd that Chey still puts the baby in her public posts, but doesn’t show his face.

“If you want to be private then why be on Snapchat or ‘Teen Mom’?” one person wrote in a comment in which Chey later responded to. “…you have to understand how that comes off. Comes out very conceited, very, ‘Oh this sounds too good to be seen, but I can see your other kids. Weird weird.”

In a video posted to Snapchat, Cheyenne explained her reasons for not showing the baby’s face.

“I never showed my other kids [online] until [they were] maybe like a month or two months old after I had them,” she said. “Saint is 12 days old so we have some time to go.

“I think, Number 1, we can do what we want because we’re his parents,” she said, adding that she is fine with people unfollowing her. “…It’s so strange to me. I personally would not comment to anybody— influencer, creator, cousin, best friend, Beyonce, I don’t care who they are, and say, ‘I’m going to unfollow you because you’re not showing your child’s face.’

Cheyenne also defended those who previously had shared their children’s faces online but have since decided to stop doing so.

“If someone wakes up tomorrow and they have shown their kid for the past six years, and they decide ‘I don’t want to show my kid anymore’ that is a choice they can make!” she said. “…clearly there’s a reason you’re not showing it and I have to respect that reason because you are that child’s parent. I can not be upset with you for making that decision for your child.”

  1. Whoa Whitney’s filter deserves a raise for all the heavy lifting it has to do given what is has to work with to make attractive.

  2. I just can’t give a shit about Cheyenne since she made the comments about white babies. Wish her a happy life hope the baby is happy and safe but beyond that I don’t give a shit.

    1. You do know that she wasn’t actually the one who wrote that comment, right? Also, she was a teenager and she apologized years ago for retweeting it.

Would you like people to hold you responsible for things you said as a teenager 14 years later? My goodness, let people grow.

      1. Cheyenne made a huge deal about Taylor’s much milder tweets from years earlier. Taylor was fired from the show for a while and Cheyenne had a whole sit-down meeting with her about the tweets on camera. At the very least, it makes Cheyenne a massive hypocrite and crazily insufferable.

  3. For a married, employed, legal adult to be having a baby and receiving hatred for it all because of who his sister is, really shows how much of a plague social media is to society.

  4. I’m glad the arrest was “just” for owing 23.000 in child support.
She tried to explain a police officer there was absolutely nothing wrong when she threatened to kill her children’s father. She’s dangerously unstable and I fear she’s going to hurt someone or purposely kill someone some day.

  5. You know Chey just want to monetize her newborn somehow. She uses her kids all the time online but won’t show the baby’s face? There’s a monetary reason behind it.
But still, people complaining about it are ridiculous. Why do you care? It’s her baby and all babies look the same.

  6. i’ll never forget how dumb some of yall acted when weston jr died and yall were attacking his dad and stepmom and defending whitney not even knowing what the situation was just for it to be another amber and gary situation

      1. Except she is the only reason she missed the funeral. She was not excluded. She showed up late. To her own child’s funeral. She doesn’t get to bail on raising that child, fail to pay child support, blame his parents for his death, and then disrupt that poor boy’s funeral. This is not a party where you get to show up fashionably late.

  7. So help me understand…people are really upset with Chey for not showing her newborns face yet? Do people have so little going on in their life that this concerns them? Also, wonder where she got the name Saint 😂?

  8. Huge difference between a 15/16 yr old high school student getting pregnant by a fellow classmate..

And a 19 yr old employed adult getting a wife pregnant.

  9. The very least an uninvolved parent can do is to pay child support. Its a shame that there seems to be more deadbeats in the world. I know my kids father falls into the deadbeat category.

  10. It’s nice to see the court system going after deadbeat mothers who owe back child support. It seems to be happening more and more now days.
