A new report by TMZ claims that Jenelle Evans‘ teen son Jace “pulled a gun” on his grandma Barbara Evans last month, prompting him to be sent to a mental health facility. However, according to The Ashley‘s sources— as well as statements made publicly by Jenelle’s own sister Ashleigh— that is not exactlywhat happened.
TMZ posted two stories on Tuesday about the situation (sold to them by someone). In the first story, the site claimed that Jace “pulled out a firearm, put it to his head and threatened to kill himself and Barbara.” The site also claimed that “Jace had been drinking and using drugs in the lead-up to the incident,” which occurred in late February. In a follow-up story, TMZ claimed Barbara was the one begging to get Jace committed to a mental facility.
The Ashley’s sources tell us there is little truth in these claims and Jenelle’s sister Ashleigh also publicly disputed the stories on X.
(As The Ashley reported yesterday, Jace was taken to a local hospital— then the mental health facility he remains at as of press time— after cops were called to Barbara’s. According to The Ashley’s sources, Jace had become infuriated when he found out Jenelle is back with her ex-husband David Eason— who currently has pending criminal charges against him for allegedly assaulting and strangling Jace in 2023— and Barb called Jenelle. Cops arrived soon after.)
Ashleigh— who is estranged from Jenelle but close to Barbara— denied that Jace threatened Barb with a gun.
“My nephew did not pull a firearm out on [his] grandmother or himself. That is a lie,” Ashleigh wrote on X on Tuesday. “None of that [is] true… who[ever] keeps fabricating these lies is a sick person.”
“The police also never found a gun in my mother’s house. That is a straight up lie,” Ashleigh added, writing later, “[It’s] most likely my sister selling the story because she’s angry. She’s losing control.”
The Ashley’s sources tell her that Jace did not threaten Barb with a gun.
“He was really angry and damaged something in the house,” the source said. “The cops actually searched Barbara’s house and found no gun.”
The source stated that there is some truth to the substance abuse use claims; however, the source said it was “being handled” and was unrelated to the incident.
Finally, The Ashley’s source states that Barbara was certainly not “desperate” to get Jace committed, as the story claims.
“Quite the opposite actually,” the source said.
“Jenelle still has custody of Jace and continues to try to manipulate the situation, despite being in Vegas,” the source told The Ashley. “She’s trying everything she can to get her way.”

It’s time for jail. He needs a wake-up call, not coddling. What he went through growing up is not an exucse for his behavior any more. I grew up in an abusive and traumatic environment. It led to some brushes with the law in my adulthood. I didn’t get mental health centers or whatever – I got jail – I got held accountable for my actions. It is what Jace needs or he WILL spend the rest of his life in prison.
are you not realizing most of what said by Janelle is not true. she sold the story an put in her own fabrication persay for clout. shes trying get David out of trouble an throwing her son under bus to do it
None of this information about a minor should be public. Shame on Jenelle for selling the story to TMZ at the expense of her own child. She did the same to Kaiser when he was allegedly beat up by other kids.

That poor child should have been placed for adoption.
Same with Kaiser. Those boys would’ve had a chance at a decent life if they were raised in a stable and loving environment. They might have still had issues, but caring parents would have made decisions in their best interest. Babs tried with Jace, but she has her issues and Janelle kept interfering and causing more damage.

..but the boys have been treated horribly. Barbtried, but honestly she screamed as much as Jenelle(seen on many episodes when Jace was young). Very toxic environment for all the children. Obviously Jace needs help, but he really needs to be completely separated from Jenelle. Permanently. If any healing takes place, it can only happen with his very toxic parents completely out of the picture. I wish Jace lots of luck, I HOPE he knows hecanask the courts for an advocate and fight for himself and his own mental health and get ancipatedcompletely so he never has to deal with Jenelle ever again

I remember around the time Nugget’s dog died, Jenelle took Ensley away from Barbara to hug her in front of the paparazzi, and Barbara looked at one of them and said, “She does this for the cameras. Hurry up, Jenelle, I need to feed her!”
Jenelle only filed for divorce from David because of those damn cameras, which in this case were the tabloids of 2023. Recording that ridiculous TikTok video signing custody papers.
But Jace is no longer a cute baby; she sees who she really is. So, she regretted it, called David back, and got rid of Jace.
I hope Jace gets out of the hospital and files a lawsuit against Jenelle and David. I’m sure that would help him and many other reality show kids out there. I hope it becomes a Netflix series.
And we believe Ashleigh because why…? She’s not a good reliable source. And of course she’d deny this ever happening along with others. The entire family is kinda toxic, we all know that. We also know Jace has been struggling mentally as well along with anger issues. He does need help and treatment. I’m sad for him. And disturbed that people think the kids would be better off if Jenelle died. So Ensley would be better off with David? Seriously? That’s messed up.
I know many people are gonna not like this but from my experience with a very toxic, and verbally abusive mother who was a little older than Barbara. In the days when my mother grew up corporal punishment was accepted. Yelling and screaming were normal. Back then you were told to shut up and suck it up or you got it. No questioning adults etc. There was no going to a therapist. That even wasn’t a thing back then except for movie stars. Lol. You had to figure out how to deal with things. My mother learned from her parents and did the same things to me. She was always the victim and she was always right. If you dared to cross her watch out. I do not condone Barbara’s behavior but I am betting it was learned and being utterly exhausted. Not excusing her but I can understand that her generation accepted this and tolerated it. We know better now. Also mental health problems flourish through that family from the brother and Jace at least. I couldn’t imagine raising 3 kids on your own, one child who we now know has pretty bad psychology problems(brother). Then you have Jenelle acting out from a very young age and I am not sure why she would have the attitude she did and does. Maybe because she could get away with it. I do feel sorry for Barbara because learned behaviors are hard to break. Working and raising her kids on her own was hard. Maybe she lacked the capacity to recognize these things aren’t normal. Which in turn added to to toxicity. Jenelle and her sister have no excuses. They grew up in a different generation. At some point they both knew right from wrong and that the things they did were wrong. I grew up in an extremely verbal and physically abusive house. My mom sent me to school after she beat the tar out of me and keyed my face. She didn’t see anything wrong with it. But I had to grow up and say no more. My mistakes are mine and accept accountability for them. I had to lean to change behaviors instead of blaming others. I finally put my big girl pants on and stopped blaming my mom for everything that went wrong in my life. I can say Barbara did step up and raise Jace. She really did try to help him mentally with doctors and medication. I M not Sure if any of them will ever want better. I feel horrible for Jace. Everyone knows that help is available if you want it, but poor Jace is too young to advocate for himself. I truly hope he gets the help he needs desperately so he can grow to be an amazing young man that we all know that he is capable of. One day he will say no more. I choose and want to live a quote un quote normal happy loving life and I choose to shed the toxicity and negativity and I will overcome everything I need to because I am worth it. I’m not defending Janelle here but just bc no gun was found doesn’t necessarily mean there wasn’t one. They could have hidden it somewhere off the property. Idk so many scenarios. They not have even ‘looked’. I’m not sure what their version of looking for one would look like. They could have just asked them and they said no we don’t have one and maybe searched his or Barbs room or they could have just taken everyone’s word for it. It could be a loose interpretation of “looked”. Again,not defending Janelle but it’s possible that it was put away or overlooked . Janelle tells too much to the point it’s unbelievable but Ashleigh does the opposite she doesn’t speak up on certain things that are usually actually true.

jenelle’s already gaining that weight back anyway, her podcast is already off to a horrible start after a month of announcing it and still no first episode has dropped, she’s gonna be wasting even more money she doesn’t have on david’s lawyer fees and she’s still not close to being likeable… there’s nothing else i can say that hasn’t been said before so all i can do is sit back and watch how karma drags her through the mud 😌
She never lost the weight. It seems to me she barely rested after the surgery; maybe she’s swollen, but she’s already gaining weight and has a lot of cellulite. David wouldn’t let her take care of herself, and now he’s back.
Everybody please remember, it was Jenelle, herself, HIS mother, that introduced Jace to weed to begin with. When she finally got custody back in 2023, she legit took him off all his medication that Babs had him on since adolescence. Babs had him in therapy, had him his doctors, and Jenelle introduced him to weed to cope. Good Job Mom!😡😡
Sorry, unpopular opinion. I do think Jace is unfortunately ill enough to do this. He is deeply affected by the things around him. Which is no fault of his own. I’m certain he struggles with anxiety and depression. So, he very much could possibly be suicidal. Jace has shown to have issues since a very young age.I think everyone would understand that. Walk a day in his shoes as they say. It absolutely should have been kept private though.
i have to agree with this as well unfortunately, david and jenelle refused to lock up their firearms and they did teach the kids how to shoot as well and whether or not there’s truth to this story, i wouldn’t be surprised if jenelle gave him one just like she gave him weed and tried giving it to kaiser…
I dislike Jenelle as much as the next person. But, people are only ignoring these things because they hate her. They are completely overlooking the red flags. I feel for Jace and absolutely hope for the best for him, but he is extremely traumatized.
Jenelle has shown time and time again that she is a pathological liar who will publicly throw Jace under the bus over and over. She is a pathetic piss poor excuse for a “mother”. I don’t doubt for a second that she put this story out about Jace.
I’m not making excuses for potential substance abuse, especially at his age, but I cannot even imagine how he must feel having her as a mother. Many people use substances as a vice to cope with difficult emotions. I imagine that’s why he’s using whatever he is. He has an uphill battle with a narcissistic mother.
I’m sending him love, support, and healing. He has every right to be upset she let that abuser back into their lives. Such an unfortunate betrayal on so many levels.

My heart breaks for Jace. He has been a bargaining chip his entire life, by BOTH women in his life. The worst thing that ever happened to him was Jenelle regaining custody. Where the hell is CPS to come in and finally protect him, and advocate for him?!
He has never had an adult actually give a shit about his well-being, you could argue Barb did, but at the end of the day she allowed Jenelle access and chances more times than she ever deserved. Barb had full legal and physical custody of him for 14 years, she absolutely had the power to block Jenelles access, but she used it as an opportunity to taunt Jenelle.
Jace needs someone to finally be an adult and take him away from all the adults (I use the term loosely) that have destroyed his childhood.

Barb was the only slightly better choice for Jace given she didn’t have an onslaught of men running through her life. If memory serves she was a heavy drinker, and it’s well known she’s got anger issues. The screaming matches alone are proof of that.
Jace deserves better than Barb and Jenelle. And I hope with everything that someone finally steps up and gets him away from the chaos of those women who have spent nearly 17 years fighting over him like a toy.
On this site you will get down votes for any thing negative against Barbara, but you are 1000% correct. Barbara, while technically much better than Janelle, was not a great option. The abuse Jace has suffered by the women in his family is streaming for anyone to see. It’s heartbreaking!

CPS shouldn’t even exist IMO. They are so backwards and honestly I believe hurt more than help. I cannot tell you how many times they straight up fail children but also make situations worse. For example there are plenty of kids with parents that say, smoke weed. Prior to it being more legally accepted, many parents that smoked had CPS get involved. But… these parents take care of them. NO neglect. NO abuse. These kids often get taken out of homes that may not be 100% perfect, and put into foster homes where they are found to be abused, and end up with issues from being separated from their parents and end up with more problems than they would have had. You will hear many stories in the news about kids passing away due to negligence on CPS part but there are SO many that don’t make it to the news… It’s astonishing in the absolute most horrific way.
I know this sounds horrible but I just wish Jenelle would just overdose as this seems the only way these kids can actually escape her and have a decent life
