Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino Speaks Out After Footage of Ronnie Ortiz-Magro Nodding Out During Recent Interview Circulates

“I said, ‘Stap it Rahn.’ What else do you want me to do?”

Ronnie Ortiz-Magro had a hard time staying awake during a recent live interview with his Jersey Shore Family Vacation cast mates, and now the footage of him seemingly nodding off has caused some fans to worry and criticize Ronnie’s roomies— particularly Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, who owns a rehab center— for not helping Ron.

Now, Mike has taken to the Instagram comment section to give his thoughts on the situation.

In a clip filmed last week but only recently posted (and then deleted) by Stars on Sirius— the cast talks about possibly bringing the show to a streaming service. As Mike and Deena Cortese talk, Ronnie can be seen in the background closing his eyes and seemingly nodding off while slightly leaning forward. The camera cuts away so Ronnie is no longer in view, but a second shot reveals him obviously struggling to stay awake.

After the video was posted to Instagram, fans quickly noticed Ronnie struggling and many were vocal in the comment section that his roommates should be getting him help.

As The Ashley has previously reported, Ronnie left ‘JSFV’ in May 2021 to go to treatment for his “psychological issues but announced later that year that he had gotten sober and later rejoined the cast. However, during a red carpet event last week for the final season’s premiere, Ronnie was reportedly so “messed up” that he was not allowed to do press interviews and was quickly taken away after posing for photos with the cast.)

In the comment section of the video, fans were alarmed.

“Bro take this down, Ronnie literally nodding out,” one person wrote.

Another person called out Mike for owning a rehab center yet seemingly not helping Ronnie. (As The Ashley told you, Mike opened his own rehab center in 2025 called The Archangel Centers.)

“Something about Mike just rubs me the wrong way and watching Ron zone out next to him makes me question his whole identity or what he presents to the world,” one person wrote.

That comment did not sit well with Mike, who jumped into the comment section to respond.

“Shut your mouth you dirty little hamster,” he wrote. “I want to be clear that I am not responsible for the actions of any other cast member. At the same time, my heart is heavy seeing what Rahn, a grown adult, chose to present during press. This situation is still developing as we speak, and I don’t yet know the full extent of what he may be going through– but I do know that it is separate from my path, and I will help where I can, including through my organization, The Archangel Centers.”

Mike clarified that he has spoken to Ron about the situation.

“Is it even ‘Jersey Shore’ if I’m not there making a fool of myself?”

“I reached out to him afterward to check in and offer my support, and I’m still waiting to hear back,” Mike wrote. “If he’s willing, I will do everything I can to be there for him. My heart is with anyone who is struggling. I’ve worked hard to build and protect my sobriety— nearly 11 years now— and it’s something I honor every single day. That commitment includes showing up with compassion and supporting others however I can.

“As more becomes clear, I hope we can all respond with empathy,” Mike added. “Please be kind to someone who may be suffering.”

As of press time, Ronnie has not responded to the comments or addressed the situation.

  1. Mike definitely isn’t responsible for Ronnie’s sobriety. The last season i watched of jsfv (6b? I havent watched in a minute) Mike was in touch with Ronnie regarding his sobriety. Ronnie had a whole speech he gave to the group to try to repair relationships. Sobriety clearly has ups and downs and Ronnie has clearly relapsed.

I think maybe they shouldn’t have had Ronnie do press at all right now messed up. Maybe there was a contract involved, I’m assuming. Wasn’t there another occurrence recently where the cast didnt allow Ronnie to participate because he wasnt sober?

  2. He is a 40 year old father and repeated domestic violence abuser. Maybe it’s time for him to reach out and help himself. He needs to grow up.
