Jenelle Evans recently posted photos from her recent visit with her son Jace, whom she sent to a facility in March. In the photos posted by Jenelle to social media this week, she can be seen kayaking with Jace and doing other outdoor activities during a “Parents’ Weekend” event. In the caption of the photos, Jenelle called the 16-year-old her “best friend” and assured everyone that she and Jace are “both working on ourselves at the same time.”
However, Jace’s dad Andrew Lewis was not happy to see photos of his son splashed across the Internet for strangers to see, particularly when he and Jace’s grandma, Barbara Evans, have been barred by Jenelle from talking to Jace— or even knowing his location– for over a month.
In an exclusive comment to The Ashley, Andrew spoke out about Jenelle’s decision to post photos and info about their son on the Internet.
“Jenelle is using him and his healing for attention and clout,” Andrew told The Ashley.
Andrew stated that he would have attended the “Parents’ Weekend” event but Jenelle did not tell him about it, or inform him where their son currently is.
“I respect my son’s privacy during his time of healing,” Andrew told The Ashley. “I don’t need to prove to the world like Jenelle is doing that him and I have a wonderful relationship together. Even though I get a lot of negativity, [Jace] knows the person I truly am and our relationship was, still is and always will be healthy and positive and that’s all that matters.
“We will be together again,” he added.
As The Ashley previously reported, Andrew and Barbara have teamed up to fight Jenelle in court for custody of Jace. (Andrew has requested secondary custody, with Barb getting primary.) The trio is set to meet up in court at the end of the month.
That court hearing will also address the motion filed against Jenelle last month that requests that Jenelle be held in contempt of court for her actions regarding Jace particularly over the last few months. As The Ashley told you, Jenelle— who has custody of Jace— had kept the teen in a mental health facility for about a month in February, despite Andrew and Barbara wanting Jace to be released into their care. In late March, Jenelle pulled Jace out of that facility and took him to an unknown facility. According to Andrew, he and Barb have not been permitted to see or talk to Jace since.
After Andrew told The Ashley in late March that he had already incurred massive medical debt due to Jace being held at the first mental health facility for several weeks (at the behest of Jenelle), Jenelle gave an interview to TMZ bragging that she is paying for Jace’s medical expenses.
“At this time, my son is FULLY covered by health insurance, and I AM currently handling and paying for all of his medical care,” Jenelle told TMZ.
Andrew disputed that Jenelle is paying for Jace’s care, stating last month that new insurance claims continue to roll in, despite Jenelle saying she is paying for everything.
“She claimed she had a ‘sponsor’ for Jace to go there and pay for it,” Andrew told The Ashley in April. “She lied. She is not paying for Jace’s medical care. There is no sponsor, because [the new place] is now billing my insurance. The medical bills are now well over $102,000, and she is not paying it, even though that’s what she claimed.”
On Saturday, Jenelle posted to social media to let everyone know that spending more time parenting has made her realize things about her own childhood.
“Side Note: Putting so much effort into my family makes me realize how much effort WAS NOT put into my family growing up,” Jenelle wrote. “I was given up on a long time ago, but I AM breaking the cycle.”

I thought they reportedly had ring footage of David choking Jace thst the neighbors house he ran to have call police for him relinquished to the state as evidence

If she went to visit Jace, who stayed with her other two kids? I’m guessing she allowed David who she claimed is dangerous and who she claimed had sexually abused their daughter, and who beat the hell out of Kaiser until he became a stutterer, oh and who killed countless animals in front of her kids! That’s who I bet she left her kids with. Because this photo op was just too good to miss. She’ll probably try and make money off of it somehow. Plus, she needed time alone with him so she could manipulate him into maybe changing his story about David before the court date???? I’m sure she offered many bribes for that.

It restores my faith in humanity a little bit when people call bullshit on her. Everyone knows she didnt want anything to do with him during the most important developmental years. She shouldn’t have even 1% custody of any of her kids. Im anticipating Marissa’s tell all on what really went on in that house and how bad David’s abuse really was behind closed doors. I’m in no way Team Jenelle but for Andrew to be a completely absent father all of Jace’s life and then just pop in all of a sudden and act like he cares about his son’s well being is ridiculous.

He wasn’t. Didn’t you watch Teen Mom 2? He moved to Florida right after Jace was born.
I’m not one to defend deadbeats myself, and I strongly believe Andrew has a lot to make up for. That said, if someone isn’t fit to be a parent, even trying can be a complete disaster that only serves to create more problems for the kid(s).
Andrew was absent for most of his life, but he also wasn’t fit to parent, was intentionally kept away once he was more fit….and still paid child support almost the entire time. That does count for something, and it’s far more than his actual mother has ever done, which is really sad.
Andrew isn’t winning any parenting awards, but he’s still a better parent than Jenelle. He was smart enough, when he has the opportunity to parent, to realize he want going to be enough and Jace needed more. Jenelle has never done that, even when she gave him to Barb she still pretended to be a good person/parent. She refuses to acknowledge her shortcomings.
He has tried with Jace. When Jace went to live with him recently he had a few rules, Jace didn’t like it so he bolted. Now, what is going on with Jenelle now is good ole’David (not) the only reason he went back to Jenelle is because #1her custody hearing for their daughter was coming up, David knew he would lose and have to pay child support #2 he needed a place to live RENT FREE. Now for the most important part, Jace’s case against David would most likely send him to prison and so he needs to fake love Jenelle and get her to get Jace to drop all this or get Jace to change his story about David to the courts. And why did she need Andrews insurance info so bad, simple she never had her own insurance on Jace, it was all a lie.
Yeah, this is where I am with this. Jenelle is the worst, so I’d be thrilled if she finally got what’s coming to here. But Andrew has just showed up to the party, so him talking about how wonderful his relationship with Jace is feels kinda like Jenelle claiming Jace is her best friend. Both of them have failed Jace. Neither of them has ever been the stable parent Jace deserved. This poor kid has been screwed over.

She’s gonna be like I was the only one visiting Jace and when barb and Andrew say she hid Jace from them, she’s gonna be “no I didn’t has a good parent I would never do that” hoping she can manipulate the court like always.
It’s obvious she put Jace in a mental health facility not for Jace health, but to protect monster in his up coming court case for strangling and putting his hands on Jace.
The courts seriously need to look at all her criminal records, the ones she’s been charged of and all the ones she’s charged others for.
Isn’t a court date for David’s charges regarding Jace set on May? This is why she’s doing all of this, to get Jace recant his testimony against David so the charges are dropped
Wouldn’t matter if he did recant at this point, which is something she doesn’t realize. The info is out there, the state can press charges, Jace doesn’t even have to say a word.
I’m not saying the judge will rule the way we all know they should, it really could go either way (look at how many shitty judges have let her and him off with less than a warning). But Jace recanting, if he did/does through coercion, won’t make a difference when they already have evidence and the state has decided to proceed.

I experienced it firsthand as both a child and adult (recanted through coercion) and in both cases, it didn’t matter, the state pressed on.

That is exactly what she is doing. She is more than likely promising him the moon, if he will say he exaggerated his story about David, then if David gets off the hook 100% LOOK OUT JACE.

That’s exactly what is happening, and exactly what people have been saying would happen once David’s trial for his charges were coming up. Now that he is back with her, and not her enemy since he was with kenleigh, she will do anything she can to get him out of trouble. If he had stayed with K you can bet this would be the totally opposite and J would be helping Jace recite his testimony to put David behind bars.
I feel sorry for Jace; all the other Teen Mom kids are getting their driver’s licenses, choosing colleges, and dating. Meanwhile, he’s stuck where Jenelle should be!
Ok I have a question on the medical Bill’s that Andrew said are being billed on his insurance. If Andrew’s health insurance is paying for this ( and I hope that’s correct) he is getting DOB (date of billing) from the insurance company wouldn’t the name of the hospital be on that to show payment. How could the insurance Bill’s be paid by his insurance and not be able to know who the payments are going too. Believe me I DON’T think Janelle is a good parent she should of never had kids, shes a train wreck. For Jace I truly hope he gets to have a normal life without the drama, he definitely deserves it.
Andrew now knows where Jace is. The Ashley reported that in an earlier article. However, because Jenelle still has total legal custody, she has the right to ban anyone from having contact with Jace and that’s what she did. She did it just to spite Jace, Andrew and Barbara. It had nothing to do with looking out for Jace’s best interest. It’s all about control. I can’t wait until Jace turns 18 so he can kick that narcissistic bitch out of his life for good.
Jace is a photo op to her. Nothing more. 18 can’t come soon enough for this poor kid.
Barb has custody rights per their agreement though, which is why they are trying to have her found in contempt since she is violating a previous court order by denying Barb access to him.
I would love to believe that the Judge would see through Jenelle’s blatant lies, taking Jace off of his mental health meds cold turkey when he first went to live with her like a dumbass, Jenelle’s repeated abandonment and the fact that Jenelle watched him be beaten and strangled and didn’t do shit. Not only did she not do shit but she double downed and got on social media singing her sick and abusive husband’s praises and once again calling Jace a liar. She has gaslit Jace since he was a small child. Everything is his fault or Barb’s fault and not hers. This is memorialized all over TV and social media thanks to Jenelle. I hope that it can be submitted as evidence in court. But even if it is I have little hope that Jace will be protected from Jenelle and David. I hope I’m wrong. Jace deserves a healthy, stable and loving environment to be raised in. He deserves to feel secure, happy and wanted.
