Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon has aired her thoughts on the news that her sister Jessica has split with her wife Shyann McCant, just weeks after Pumpkin exposed that Shyann (and Jessica) had a threesome with her ex-husband Josh Efird.
In a video posted to social media on Wednesday, Pumpkin shared a screenshot of the statement Jessica posted Tuesday announcing that she and Shyann were no longer.
“Let’s talk about it!” Pumpkin said. “Actually, I don’t really have anything to talk about because I don’t really know anything. I found out [about their split] a day before y’all did!”

As “Mama June: Family Crisis” fans are aware, Pumpkin exposed Jessica and Shyann’s hump-fest with Josh during the season finale, which also served as Shyann and Jessica’s wedding episode. The episode— which aired in May— sparked plenty of online brawls within the family, with Pumpkin revealing that she now only has a relationship with Jessica and Shyann because of her kids.
“I’m adult enough to still allow my kids to have a relationship with them, even though I don’t f**k with them,” she said during that video.
During the video she posted on Wednesday, Pumpkin somehow managed to refrain from screaming “I told you so” or “That’s what you get” into the camera for Jessica and Shyann to hear. (She did, however, make it very clear— non-verbally— that she was implying those things.)

As The Ashley reported on Tuesday, Jessica’s statement indicated that she and Shyann plan to stay friends despite their divorce.
“As most of y’all can tell, me and Shyann are no longer together,” Jessica wrote. “We mutually decided that it was the best decision for both of us. Yes, we are still friends, and yes, we are both cordial with each other, but we are no longer in a relationship. We kindly ask that everyone be respectful during this time. Please don’t send hate or negativity to either of us. This is already a difficult situation, and mean comments or unnecessary drama won’t make it any easier.”

While Live on TikTok on Tuesday night, Jessica— who is now staying at her mom June Shannon‘s home— gave more details about why she and Shyann are splitting up.
“Stuff just doesn’t work out. Stuff happens,” Jessica said. “There was a lot of stuff with me that I could’ve fixed. And I take 110 percent accountability. I know what I did was wrong. And that’s why it happened. There was hurt. We both cried. It was best just to talk through it… anger is part of getting over it. We both probably went through anger. We both were sad.”
Jessica asked fans not to attack Shyann, promising that she would never say anything bad about her soon-to-be-ex-wife.
“Shyann was nothing but good to me,” Jessica said. “I have nothing bad to say about her. I never have, and I told her I will never have anything bad to say about her… we do talk. It just didn’t work about it…we talk and we’re fine. I still talk to her. I still talk to [her niece] Harper.”
The Ashley can confirm that Jessica and Shyann were legally married. A search for their marriage license revealed that the couple married in Georgia on February 21, 2025 in Gray, Georgia. According to Jessica, the beach wedding shown during this season of ‘Mama June’ was filmed in October 2025.
The Ashley can find no record of either Jessica or Shyann filing for divorce yet. However, a source for TMZ reported on Wednesday that the ladies plan to start divorce proceedings soon.

“The former couple split within the last few days after realizing their relationship had run its course,” the source stated. “We’re told the breakup was mutual and not the result of any one incident … rather, it was a split both sides saw coming.”
In the comment section of a post Shyann made after Jessica announced their split, a fan asked Shyann if her rendezvous with Josh (which all three insisted was only so Shyann could get pregnant) caused her to realize she liked Josh more than Jessica.
“Nope still gay,” Shyann responded.
