Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon is doing some damage control on social media after her mom, Mama June Shannon, alleged this week that Pumpkin’s boyfriend Darrin Kitchens may have a knocked up another woman– specifically, one of his sugar mamas– despite being in a relationship with Pumpkin since 2024.
June’s (latest) tea-spilling sesh went down on TikTok Live Tuesday, where she revealed to fans that Darrin “might have [gotten] a girl pregnant.” To the surprise of absolutely no one, June went on to advise those tuning in to keep the details of Darrin’s potentially knocked-up side piece on the down-low, as the alleged pregnancy has yet to be confirmed.
“ … he really might have a girl pregnant, but we’re kind of concerned about that, but that hasn’t came out yet, so don’t tell nobody,” June said

While June appeared wildly chill for someone who just learned that their daughter’s boyfriend may have impregnated another woman, she later explained to followers that she believes Pumpkin and Darrin are in an open relationship.
“ … I’m assuming [they’re in an open relationship], because Darrin does his thing, Pumpkin does her thing, so I guarantee that they’re probably in an open relationship,” she said. “But hey, if they’re okay with being in an open relationship and [Pumpkin is] going to different cities and meeting her sugar daddies, and [Darrin] meeting his sugar mamas here in Georgia, I mean, if they’re cool with that, I’m cool with that.”
June went on to state that Pumpkin and Darrin are presumably “cool” with having an open relationship that involves sugar daddies/mamas because they’re working towards a common goal: a swimming pool.
“They’re trying to get a pool … we need a new pool at Pumpkin’s house and it’s $90,000 for a pool,” she explained.
June proceeded to tell fans that she knows Darrin has sugar mamas (yes, plural), as these alleged woman are basically bankrolling his lifestyle (and presumably his future life as a pool-owning citizen?)
“How do y’all think he’s getting all these boats, the side-by-sides, stuff like that?” June asked. “He’s got three sugar mamas here in Jones County– one is a multi-millionaire and she works in the government here in Jones County, and the other one works at the sheriff’s office in Bibb County, and then the other one actually is somebody that Pumpkin knows, and that we’ve been knowing for quite a while.”
While June said that Pumpkin hasn’t left Darrin at this point, she claimed that her daughter is “making sure this girl is not pregnant first,” and if she is, Pumpkin “probably will leave.” She also claimed that Pumpkin was “heartbroken” over the news that Darrin– who is already a father to multiple children– may be expecting a child with someone else.
“I’m not gonna lie to you, Pumpkin was really heartbroken, so that’s why she went out of town and Darrin didn’t go out of town to Minnesota.”

According to June, Darrin didn’t have time to witness Pumpkin and Kail’s “fatherless behavior,” as he had to stay home and figure out if his sugar mama was knocked up or not.
“She just came forward and said that she might be pregnant. [Pumpkin’s] not really cool with a girl being pregnant,” June said.
After fans on social media began questioning if June’s TikTok Live claims were legit, Pumpkin took to the comment section on multiple platforms to refute her mom’s remarks.
“Is it true [Darrin] got girl pregnant or is that just a rumor,” someone asked on Facebook, to which Pumpkin replied, “lol just stirring s**t to get mfs talking.”
In another response, Pumpkin claimed that she told her mom to make false claims on social media just so they could get people talking.
“I texted her last night to start some tea just so y’all would yap it up,” Pumpkin claimed in an Instagram comment.
As you may know, this isn’t the first baby-related rumor Darrin has been hit with since he and Pumpkin began dating. Shortly after Pumpkin split from her husband (and Darrin’s cousin) Josh Efird in 2024, Josh began a relationship with a woman named Keely, who at the time, was allegedly pregnant with Darrin’s child. After Josh and Keely eventually called it quits, Josh began dating Breanna Godwin, who gave birth to Josh’s fifth child in May of 2025.
