Trigger Warning: This story contains mentions of domestic violence and assault.
Criminal charges have officially been filed against David Landsman— the ex-boyfriend of Lindsie Chrisley— for his alleged physical assault on her back in April.
David was indicted on Monday by the Superior Court of Cherokee County, Georgia. He received two felony counts of Aggravated Assault, a felony False Imprisonment charge and a misdemeanor charge of Battery. All of the charges stem from the night of April 10, when David was arrested for allegedly assaulting and strangling the former ‘Chrisley Knows Best’ star.
According to the General Bill of Indictment obtained by The Ashley, a Grand Jury found enough evidence to charge David with the crimes against Lindsie.

It appears that he received one of the counts of Aggravated Assault for allegedly strangling Lindsie.
“[David did] knowingly make an assault upon the person of Lindsie Brooke Chrisley with his hand, an object which, when used offensively against a person is likely to result in strangulation, and did result in strangulation by applying pressure to the throat and neck of said Lindsie Brooke Chrisley.”
David received the other count of Aggravated Assault for allegedly throwing Lindsie to the ground and causing injuries to her with his hand.
“[The alleged assault did] result in serious bodily injury, by forcibly throwing and slamming her to the ground, causing a laceration on her head,” the charging docs state.

The felony False Imprisonment charge was received because David allegedly detained Lindsie and wouldn’t allow her to leave.
“…in violation of the personal liberty of Lindsie Brooke Chrisley [David] did unlawfully confine and detain Lindsie Brooke Chrisley without legal authority,” the docs allege.
The Battery charge David received was because he allegedly “intentionally cause[d] substantial physical harm and visible bodily harm.” The docs state that David allegedly caused a laceration and bruising to Lindsie when he allegedly threw her to the ground.
Cherokee County Superior Court has already selected its Grand Jurors for the case, and provided a witness list. (The majority of the witnesses listed are police officers and emergency personnel. Lindsie is also listed as a witness.)
No date has been confirmed for the trial start date. However, David continues to maintain his innocence in the case.

“Mr. Landsman asserts his innocence regarding any charges on the indictment,” David’s attorney told Us in a statement. (Us Weekly was the first outlet to report the news of David’s Indictment.)
“Grand juries are one-sided presentments where only the Government presents any evidence. We will enter a plea of not guilty. While the process is not quick, we expect any charges will be resolved in his favor. ”
As The Ashley previously reported, David was the person who actually called the police on the night of the alleged assault, claiming that Lindsie broke into his home and attacked him in his sleep.
In audio of the 911 call made by David on April 10, the 52-year-old claimed that he needed cops to come to his house, alleging that Lindsie broke into his home and beat him up. (You can listen to that call below.)

“My girlfriend just broke into my house,” David claimed in the audio of his 911 call— which was obtained by The Ashley in April. “I was asleep and she started beating my f**king ass…She was beating my face. I mean, there’s blood but I’m OK.”
(David’s face was bloodied in his mugshot photo taken the night of the alleged assault.)

When police arrived, they allegedly found bruising on Lindsie, leading them to arrest David for assault and battery.
Lindsie soon filed for a temporary protective order against David, claiming David had gotten violent with her (and her son Jackson) before the events of April 10. She also claimed that this was not the first time David strangled her.
“[David] has also been physically violent with [Lindsie’s] minor son in a public setting,” Lindsie’s TPO request states. “This has caused [Lindsie] to be extremely concerned for her safety and the safety of her minor son.”
Not long after, David filed for a temporary protective order against Lindsie, in addition to asking for custody of their shared dog, Oliver.

In May, Lindsie was awarded custody of the dog. She and David also agreed to a mutual no contact order that stipulates they stay 500 yards away from each other, and don’t go near each other’s homes and workplaces. They also agreed not to contact each other in any way, even through a third party. (David is also banned from going near or contacting Lindsie’s son Jackson.)
Later that month, Lindsie used a bonus episode of her podcast The Southern Tea to explain why she dropped her request for a temporary protective order.
“ … I want to be very clear when I say things weren’t dropped because there wasn’t validity to claims. Things were dropped because I’m a decent person,” Lindsie said. “And people can have their opinions about whatever. There was a civil agreement that was entered into, and that civil agreement is no different than as if the state had issued that agreement.
“…who wants to be in court for 12 hours?” Lindsie continued. “We were gonna get to the same result, let’s just go ahead and agree, move on, and then I don’t have to look at you because I’m uncomfortable and I’m not gonna put you in the position to have to look at me…
This is just the latest (and hopefully last) chapter in Lindsie and David’s very toxic, on-and-off-again relationship. During the time they were together, Lindsie was constantly alternating between breaking up with David and teasing the public that they have gotten engaged/married, etc.
Lindsie raised eyebrows last summer when she changed her last name on social media from “Chrisley” to David’s last name, “Landsman,” despite her and David not being married or engaged.

Before claiming on her podcast that she dropped “Chrisley” because it was “problematic for business,” Lindsie posted a series of photos to social media that suggested she and David may have eloped during a trip to Florida.
While Lindsie and David didn’t tie the knot last summer, the two did go on to make up and break up in the coming months, with the couple eventually calling it quits after David allegedly cheated on Lindsie on Valentine’s Day, which Lindsie found out about after someone messaged her online about the infidelity.
Despite the public split, Lindsie was soon back to dropping hints on her podcasts and on social media that she and David had reunited, however neither had confirmed the status of their relationship. Not long after, David even made an [attention-seeking] post in which he asked Lindsie’s estranged dad Todd Chrisley (via Instagram Story) if he could marry Lindsie.
As you do…

Interestingly, just hours before David was arrested on April 10, he and Lindsie partook in some vague-posting on Instagram, with the two posing for a photo in which Lindsie was kissing David’s cheek. Adding to the confusion, David captioned the post, “
” and tagged the location in Baltimore, Maryland, for some reason. (As we now know— thanks to David’s arrest— he was not in Maryland at the time the photo was posted and was actually in Georgia, where he lives.)

In the comment section of the pre-arrest post, both David and Lindsie played coy, with David writing that they “just ran into each other” and both of them writing that “no one knows” what the meet-up means for their [toxic AF] relationship.

Lindsie has not yet commented on David being indicted.

One Response
She was worried about her son’s safety, but not enough to permanently move on from his abuser. She’s clearly a victim as well, being strangled multiple times is horrendous.
Staying with him after he abused your son is vile though.
