The fractured relationships within the Chrisley Family are far from repaired, but podcast episodes released this week suggest that the family feud isn’t as fired up as it once was.
On Tuesday, Savannah Chrisley welcomed her parents, Todd and Julie, as guests on her ‘Unlocked’ podcast, where the three discussed the series of big announcements she’s made over the last week.
For those who missed the recent rollout of reveals, Savannah announced last week that she’s expecting her first baby with 56-year-old federal felon Jason Galanis, who she simultaneously revealed as her fiancé. Days later, the 29-year-old confirmed that she and Jason are actually already married and have been since July. On Monday, Savannah revealed that she and her fiancé husband are expecting a baby boy.
As The Ashley told you last week, Jason is just one year younger than his (newly confirmed) father-in-law. The two also happened to have served time together at FPC Pensacola (after being convicted for fraud), before President Donald Trump commuted their respective sentences.

As expected, Savannah’s big announcements have garnered mixed reactions online, with some criticizing Jason’s age and criminal past, and others (including Jason’s own brother) questioning the former felon’s motives. As it turns out, Savannah and Jason aren’t the only ones catching flak from the big news.
While Todd and Julie (as well as Todd’s mom, Nanny Faye) were included in Savannah and Jason’s gender reveal, fans were quick to note that this baby won’t be the couple’s first grandchild. As you may know, that title already belongs to Jackson, the 13-year-old son of Todd’s estranged daughter, Lindsie.
On Tuesday’s podcast episode, Todd and Julie acknowledged that they’ve had the “title of grandparents for a while now,” with Savannah also acknowledging Jackson as her nephew. The three went on to address the lack of relationship they now have with the teen, while reflecting on how their dynamic once was.
“We have not been afforded the luxury of having a relationship with [Jackson],” Savannah said. “ … And when we did have a relationship with him, it was all the gifts and all the things that grandparents would do.”
While Todd’s happy reaction to Savannah’s baby news has some online accusing him of acting as if he doesn’t already have a grandchild, Savannah reminded listeners this week, “that’s not true.” Todd agreed, and explained that he doesn’t talk about Jackson “out of respect for him,” adding, “I don’t owe the world an explanation.”
“I have not been afforded that luxury of having a relationship with Jackson that did not consist of huge boundaries and walls and whatever,” he continued.

As the episode continued, Savannah brought up a comment she allegedly saw from Jackson this week, in which the teen questioned if Todd and Julie were “gonna act like I’m not even their grandson.” The alleged remark prompted Todd to address his grandson directly.
“Well that’s not true, darling, because you are my grandson and I worship you,” Todd said. “And in time, as you get older, if it’s God’s will, I hope that you and I will at some point be able to have a relationship.”

“ … We love [Jackson], so I don’t want people to think just because I’m having a child, that’s the only grandchild,” Savannah said. “That’s not the case at all.”
“This is the hand that we’ve been dealt,” Todd added, to which Savannah agreed, “Yes, this is the hand that we’ve been dealt … .”
A day after Todd and Julie’s ‘Unlocked’ episode was released, Lindsie dropped the latest episode of her ‘The Southern Tea’ podcast, which she kicked off by not only congratulating Savannah, but also coming to her defense amid the backlash she’s been receiving.

“I want to congratulate my sister on her pregnancy, [and] congratulate her on her engagement or marriage, whichever that may be,” Lindsie said. “The things that I have seen posted all week long [are] truly heartbreaking to me. I don’t know why people relish in other people’s downfall, and it’s not a downfall, right?
“ … but to take such a bright and, like, happy moment and something that somebody has waited for for such a long period of time, and to turn that into a traumatic experience is awful,” she continued.
Lindsie went on to tell listeners that she doesn’t plan to make any additional comments about the latest developments in her sister’s life, but insisted again that she is “so happy for her.”

“ … [It] seems like it is absolutely the right fit and things have kind of fallen into place where they’re supposed to for her,” Lindsie said. “And for that, I’m happy for her. I’m proud. … there is no love like the love that you will ever have for your child, and I’m so excited for her to be able to walk that journey.
“I was much younger than what she is when I had Jackson, and I just feel like, what a blessing to be able to bring just like, an innocent little baby into the world,” she continued. “And other than that, that’s really all I have to say on that.”
