Tony Raines‘ daughter Harper has finally moved in with him full-time, following a years-long custody battle between ‘The Challenge’ star and Harper’s maternal grandma Cally Shapshak.
On Friday, Tony and his wife Alyssa Giacone announced that Harper is now living with them full-time, allowing her to finally attend school alongside her sister, Isla, who is only nine months younger than Harper.
As fans of ‘The Challenge’ know, Tony shares 10-year-old Harper with Madison Channing-Walls, his former co-star on ‘The Real World: Skeletons.’ In recent years, Madison— who was a recovering heroin addict on the show— has been arrested numerous times for drug-related offenses (with the most-recent arrest happening earlier this year). Madison’s mother, Cally Shapshak, had been raising Harper since at least 2018, when she and her (now late) husband filed for sole custody of the then-two-year-old Harper.
Tony fought the filing, stating on Instagram Live in 2018 that, “if a mother is not capable … or signs her rights over and is not going to raise her child, then the father deserves that opportunity. That’s an opportunity I would love to have and that’s why I’m fighting and going to court.”
Tony and Cally eventually agreed to a shared custody agreement that permitted Harper to visit Tony regularly in Louisiana while residing with her grandma in Texas.
That seemed to change in July, though, after Madison’s mother, Cally, was arrested for her own drug offense.
According to court records, Cally was arrested in Texas on July 9 and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1 or 1-B. (This category includes substances like fentanyl, heroin, meth and cocaine.) According to the charge, she allegedly had between 4-200 grams of the substance.
This is classified as a second-degree felony and can carry up to 20 years in prison. (That case is pending.)
While it is not known whether or not Cally’s arrest was the reason Harper went to live with Tony full-time, The Ashley can confirm that a court hearing was held on August 5 in regard to the custody situation.
On Friday, Alyssa expressed her happiness about having Harper finally living with them full-time.
“Today is just one of those days that shows you that if you put your faith in the man upstairs, good things will come,” she said on Instagram Stories. “Our girls are finally getting to go to school together and be together full-time. If you could have all been in our house [and seen] how excited they were this morning…my heart is complete! Better late than never!”
Tony also expressed his happiness over finally having his girls together. (In addition to Isla and Harper, Tony and Alyssa recently welcomed daughter Ivy.)

Tony has seemingly turned over a new leaf following a 2025 arrest for drunk driving. In February, he announced that he was celebrating a year of sobriety.
“I wasn’t the type of guy that was drinking every day, but when I drank, I drank, and when I wanted to have a good time, I drank and had a good time– sometimes too good of a time,” Tony said on social media in February. “But just the consistency now that I have knowing, ‘Hey, what I feel like right now is how I’m gonna feel tomorrow; the person I am right now is exactly who I’m gonna be tomorrow; what I say now is still gonna hold the same weight tomorrow.’”

I pray Tony stays sober for the sake of the children. Madison and now THE GRANDMA?! obviously have some issues to work through. Heroin is no joke. Stay off dugs folks!
The GRANDMOTHER too?! I don’t remember her ever having a (public) issue with drugs at all. That’s wild it took so long for Tony to have full custody of his own child when Madison and her entire family are such a mess.
Hopefully he stays sober and keeps his dick in his pants this time. He’s still cheated on Alyssa a few times still even while they were engaged and married.
I hope I am not saying this too soon but he truly seems to have turned a new leaf. He was such a prick on his Real World season, I never understood why so many women wanted him but it looks like it’s possible.
But man, mom and grandma BOTH arrested for drugs (Madison also looks rough, gosh, that’s what years of abusing drugs will do to you), I am sure Harper won’t go near them.
This is Amazing! Those of us who have been following along have hoped and waited a decade for Tony to finally get full custody like he deserves! Madison now has 3 daughters- none in her custody and 2 born addicted to drugs and is in active addiction. And now her mom, the grandma, who was supposed to be the stable one? WILD. Harper is where she belongs, finally.
Madison had two more kids?!!
Was the grandma always on drugs too?
I really feel for Harper. For her mom, grandma, AND Dad to all have substance abuse issues, I pray that girl gets some therapy.
Oof, I pray he stays sober. Those girls need some stability.
