Kody Brown’s ex-wives may have been surprised by his and wife Robyn’s decision to walk away from ‘Sister Wives’ after 20 seasons, but Christine’s husband David Woolley wasn’t shocked in the slightest.
In a TikTok posted by Christine on Wednesday, David shared his take on the Season 21 shakeup, while throwing some shade at the father of 18 in the process.
“My reaction [to Kody no longer filming] was, like I said, I can understand why he quit, cause he quit on you guys and he also quit on the kids,” David told his wife of nearly three years.
As longtime fans of ‘Sister Wives’ know, in addition to Kody’s first three wives leaving him between 2021 and 2023, Kody is– and has been– estranged from many of his children.
While David has previously spoken out about Kody’s shortcomings as a father and husband, he reiterated this week that Kody failed to “fulfill his obligations as a father and a husband.” Because of this, David explained, it didn’t surprise him very much that Kody also chose to walk away from his family’s TLC series.
“ … [Kody] had an obligation and he didn’t fulfill it,” David said. “So therefore, I didn’t expect anything different.”
After confirming to Christine that he wasn’t “shocked” by Kody and Robyn’s exit, David acknowledged that the actual reason behind the couple’s decision to leave the show remains unknown.
“ … people talk about money wise … there’s 10 million reasons why [they decided to leave the show] and we still don’t know,” he said. “But hey, [in] my opinion, they didn’t want to handle it anymore.
“They’re just done, they didn’t want to deal with [the ex-wives],” he added, before going on to joke that Kody’s former spouses are “a lot.”
As the video continued, Christine interjected to add her own perspective, while suggesting that the couple’s exit was ultimately a decision made by Kody– a theory with which David seemed to agree.
“I felt like after he couldn’t control us anymore, that’s when he was like, [done],” she said, to which David added, “Once he was done, you know, milking the cows as they would call it … and he could no longer control the cow and what they can say and what they can do … it’s a done deal. They moved on.”
As The Ashley told you last month, it was revealed in the ‘Sister Wives’ Season 21 trailer that after 16 years of filming, Kody and his only remaining wife Robyn would not be returning to the show. Moments before the news was revealed to fans, each of Kody’s ex-wives teased the big announcement, with Christine claiming she didn’t “know how to process it all.”
As the trailer continued, Janelle told fans in a confessional that she was “flabbergasted” by the allegedly happy couple’s exit, with Meri echoing a similar sentiment.
“I was actually surprised when I was told that Kody and Robyn weren’t coming back to the show,” she claimed.
As of now, Kody and Robyn have not revealed the reason behind their ‘Sister Wives’ exit, nor has the couple shared whether or not they plan to return to the TLC series in the future.

I really liked David at first and I am happy for Christine and David. They seem to be in love. I can read what David wrote and agree with everything he said. But why does his voice irritate the shit out of me?! I think it’s because when he speaks it sounds very “know it all”.
