Collin Gosselin Sends Message to Estranged Mom Kate After She Gives More Alleged Details About Him Killing Birds As a Kid

“Nice try, Mommy Dearest.”

Collin Gosselin says he’s not letting his estranged mom Kate‘s recent claims bother him.

In an Instagram post on Saturday, Collin accused the former ‘Kate Plus 8’ star of lying to her fans following the release of his best-selling book, In The Shadow of Eight. (As fans know, Collin’s book exposed the alleged child abuse he claims to have endured at Kate’s hand. Kate continues to deny she abused Collin, claiming instead he was violent and dangerous as a kid.)

After Kate began making more claims about Collin’s alleged violent behavior— even accusing him of murdering nine birds at the age of 11 “for fun”— Collin sent a message to Kate.

“To my mother, who continues to spread lies in an attempt to conceal her abuse and break my spirit, it’s not working,” he wrote.

“My determination to speak out for survivors will always be stronger than your attempts to silence me. You will never stop my mission to protect and advocate for other victims of abuse,” he added.

Collin also thanked his supporters for making his book Number 1 on the New York Times Bestseller List for two weeks in a row.

“To everyone who has shown me love, believed in me, and supported my journey, thank you. You remind me every day that there is so much more love in this world than cruelty,” he wrote. “… [Having my book be Number 1 is] something I never could have imagined in my lifetime and something I could never have achieved without the incredible support of all of you. I am beyond grateful.”

While Kate hasn’t directly addressed Collin’s most-recent post, she did continue to fight in the comment section of her TikTok posts. As The Ashley previously reported, Kate recently made specific claims about Collin’s violent behavior as a child. In a series of comments, Kate claimed that Collin killed nine birds on January 28, 2015 “for fun.” She also insisted that she has a voice recording of 11-year-old Collin admitting to killing them.

In addition, Kate claimed that Collin also” assaulted family members and his teacher with multiple weapons, on multiple different occasions.”

“He attacked his teacher on May 5, 2016, after hiding in the dark and jumping out with a weapon, lunging for her neck,” Kate said, adding that it was this alleged incident that caused Collin to be admitted to a psych hospital for the first time.”

Over the past few days, Kate has been questioned about the bird story, in particular, causing her to respond with more alleged details of how Collin killed them.

“The birds! THE BIRDS!”

She explained that the birds that were allegedly killed were “trapped in our chicken coop. They flew in and couldn’t get out. He caught them and killed them.”

Kate clarified that the birds in question were not chickens, but sparrow-like birds. She stated that Collin was the only kid home at the time and was staying with a babysitter. She claimed that Collin was feeding the chickens, as always, when the incident allegedly happened.

“Babysitter found feathers in the bathroom and the birds stacked neatly on our patio,” Kate wrote. “Eventually he admitted doing it (I have voice recording saved that I sent to his therapist), as he was the only child home. (The others were visiting their ‘father’ and my older girls were at a friends’ for the weekend. [Collin] didn’t visit [Jon] anymore, by choice, and would be home those weekends alone).

“I see what you did there by putting ‘father’ in quote marks, Kate and…I don’t like it.”

Kate claimed that, after discovering the dead birds, she asked Collin if the birds may have frozen to death, but says he admitted to killing them.

“I asked him that. Instead of letting them fly away, he opted to kill them. That’s the short answer,” she wrote.

Kate claimed that this was the first time Collin had allegedly caused an animal to die, but insisted he “was actually cruel to our family pet. Multiple times.”

“He had never killed animals until this point,” she wrote. “After that, he never went down to our barn again and I also moved our bird Zorro so he’d be safe from him.”

Many fans questioned the logistics of Kate’s story, with several pointing out that the date in question was actually a Wednesday and not a weekend day as Kate stated. Someone else pointed out that January 28, 2015 was the day a blizzard had caused the Pennsylvania governor to declare a state of emergency for their area, due to Winter Storm Juno.

Others doubted that a pre-teen kid would be able to catch nine wild birds in a chicken coop on his own.

“So wait…let me get this straight: he was outside in the cold, allegedly inside of the chicken coop, killed 9 birds all in a span of what? Minutes? Hours? Who doesn’t pay attention to the whereabouts of their kids if this did happen? Something smells fishy,” someone wrote to Kate.

“Can’t argue with that, bro.”

“NINE birds randomly got trapped in your chicken coop?” someone else commented. “And an 11-year-old managed to catch all of them with his bare hands without letting any of them go? Riiiiight.”

“Because he told me,” Kate explained. “I couldn’t figure out how he could catch so many birds. He explains what happened on the voice memo very clearly without interruption or prompting.”

Although numerous people in the comment section encouraged Kate to release the voice memo she allegedly has of Collin confessing, she has yet to do so as of press time.

As someone who lived through Juno… learn about migration, Kate. There wouldn’t have been any birds around to kill. And you couldn’t see more than a foot in front of you in that storm. If she both let him out in that storm unsupervised and did not move their chickens somewhere safer she’s still both neglectful and an animal abuser too. She ain’t gonna release shit because she doesn’t have shit to release.
