Maci Bookout’s Mother Posts Rare Photo of ‘Teen Mom OG’ Star’s Son Maverick

“Y’all aren’t allowed to see him yet!”

Maci Bookout welcomed her third child, son Maverick, nearly two months ago, but the Teen Mom OG star has yet to show off any photos of her new baby, except for one taken while Maci was holding him after his birth. Since his birth, Maci and her fiance, Taylor McKinney, have kept Maverick out of the public eye, but Maci’s mom, Sharon Bookout, finally gave us a glimpse of the tot via her Instagram!

In a photo posted on Thursday, Sharon is seen holding Maverick, while Maci’s father, Gene holds Maci and Taylor’s one-year-old daughter, Jayde.

“Hands and hearts are full! #grandbabies,” Sharon captioned the photo, which appears to have been taken at oldest grandson Bentley’s baseball game.

There are several explanations for as to why Maci and Taylor have not shared any photos of their new baby boy. They may just want privacy, but it’s most likely due to Maci’s ‘Teen Mom OG’ contract. Many of the girls have been restricted by their contracts with MTV to post photos of major events in their lives, until it is done in conjunction with MTV. (This can come via an MTV-generated magazine spread, or an appearance on the actual show, etc.)

Several girls have gotten into trouble with the network for posting photos of an event in advance. (Back in 2011, Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer had to frantically beg her family and fans to delete the photos she posted of her wedding to Corey Simms, as posting the photos was against her MTV contract.) A similar thing happened last year when Maci posted the first public photos of her daughter Jayde, but soon deleted them off of her social media pages.

There have been rumors floating around the ‘Teen Mom’ fan world that Maverick is suffering from medical issues, due to Maci drinking frequently while pregnant. However, there is absolutely no proof that these rumors are true, and The Ashley is certainly not confirming them.

The new season of ‘Teen Mom OG’ premieres August 22 (check out the trailer here!), so it’s likely we’ll get to see more of Maverick soon enough!

  1. Lots of jealous girls commenting on Maci’s life. No one is perfect. The funny thing is most of the girls commenting are probably not even mothers or are to young to even understand how hard life can be, especially with cameras following you. Once they live a little longer then maybe they won’t have this “I’m so perfect” attitude.I use to think the same way, when I was younger. I’m not old, but I’m old enough to know that I’m not perfect and have no room to criticize anyone.

    1. Ah yes, the standard ad hominem “you’re jealous and young” argument in defense of these girls. Why be jealous of the terrible situation she’s in, very likely worrying that her son will have health problems from her excessive drinking? Maci seems smart enough to know the risks, and loves her kids enough not to be indifferent about it like JE. I actually feel sorry for her, if he does have FAS or other medical issues, she’s got to feel extremely guilty. Not a position I’d want to find myself in.

      1. Yes, my criticism of Maci’s drinking throughout her pregnancy stems from deep-seated jealousy of some family friends with custody of their granddaughter with FASD.
I love that girl to death, but she’s eleven and has difficulty working through the fact that knocking on the screen part of a door won’t be loud enough for the occupants to hear. (We went trick-or-treating last year. I’m not exaggerating.)
Every month or so they have to drive four hours (one-way) for an evaluation at the nearest childrens’ hospital so their pediatric neurology department can try to keep a step ahead of her seizures as she starts puberty (her epilepsy is most likely related).
No, once I have my own child I’ll *totally* get how absolutely ridiculous it is to expect someone to not binge-drink for a few months while forming a nervous system that will ideally be in use for the better part of a century.

Don’t like Maci never did. She thinks her shit don’t stink. But she has never really had a job and is she even close to finishing college? This happens a lot girls have kids super young they think that they are mother of the year and then as soon as they hit 21 they think that they can still have fun. I get some parents have a drink here and there but her house always has beer cans within arms reach and she always has a drink in her hands. Even to the point where your 6 year old says “I need a beer” and it doesn’t phase you.

Maverick was no accident at least not for Maci. She had already had two kids so she knows well no BC=baby. So she needed to trap him even more. Pushing guys to propose always ends badly. I wonder if something is wrong with him. Have they ever shown his face? Casue that pic his eyes look a little sunkin in and a little too far to the outside of his head. It could just be the pic though. I hope that’s the case poor baby I hope he wasn’t effected by his mothers excessive drinking.

  3. I just can’t believe her stupidity. When the show first started I thought she would be one of the smarter ones. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I remember years ago they had some “catching up with Maci” special. She lived in a total party house with Bently. Beer bottles everywhere. Ryan’s girlfriend at the time pointed out that it wasn’t an appropriate environment for a child. Ryan being Ryan blew it off. I genuinely hope for the sake of her three kids she drastically curbs back on her drinking.

  4. I honestly think maverick has FAS!!! And Maci just doesn’t want anyone to see him or he has some other health issue due to Maci drinking

    1. Dude, I just read in South Africa where FAS is super common, mothers who drink heavily during pregnancy give their kid like a 50% chance of having FAS. That’s scary.

  6. I don’t know how they have a good relationship. The only thing they have in common is drinking. I hope she didn’t drink excessively while pregnant for the babys sake. Even though her partnership with taylor doesn’t look very strong I hope it will last because of the kids. TV couples normally don’t though. I hope her ex fiance Ryan is happy dodging maci though. Does anyone think they hooked up after splitting like when she was kind of seeing taylor?

    1. Aww, c’mon. I’m no Maci fan, but you can’t knowingly say they have nothing in common except drinking. I saw it mentioned in the comments last week that they’ve been together for over three years, and kids or no kids, if all you have in common is a love of partying, relationships based on that usually fizzle out fast.

Taylor’s screen time has been fairly limited and depthless in a way I can’t even get a gauge on his personality. We really don’t know much about their relationship or even his personality. It does seem like they drink a bizarre amount and at very odd hours for parents of 3, but it’s just not possible to know much about their relationship when it’s overshadowed with the same ‘ole scripted “Here’s how Ryan failed as a father today” segments that take up half of her screen time in every ding dang episode!

As for her and Ryan hooking up, I think deep down Maci may still have some sort of feelings for him (she’s constantly got the smirk + bedroom eyes when she is around him), but he seems REALLY put off and annoyed by her. I just can’t see *him* hooking up with her.
