EXCLUSIVE! Michael Abraham Weighs In On Daughter Farrah’s Recent Arrest & Debra Danielsen’s Comments About Being Worried For Sophia

“And don’t you dare write a rap song about my arrest, Mom!”

Farrah Abraham‘s recent arrest has caused an even greater divide among her parents, who disagree about the former Teen Mom OG star’s parenting choices and lifestyle.

In an exclusive statement to The Ashley, Farrah’s father Michael Abraham weighed in on Farrah’s arrest, as well as the recent statements made by Farrah’s mother Debra Danielsen.

(Right after the arrest, “Debz OG” told The Ashley that she feels Farrah has “too much volatility and no kindness” and found her arrest “sad and hurtful.”)

In an interview with Radar Online, Debra expressed concern for Farrah’s nine-year-old daughter Sophia, and the around-the-world lifestyle Farrah is subjecting her to.

“She needs to be with her family, not about strangers and volatility and her mother being arrested,” Debz told the site, adding that she plans to try to get legal custody time with Sophia. “It’s very disgusting. [Sophia] needs to go to school… She needs to not be dragged on a party all over the world.”

In his statement, Michael said he felt that fans and Debra have no need to worry about Sophia.

“I’m not worried at all, I know the truth,” he told The Ashley. “Farrah has always been a wonderful mother/parent. She is a hard worker, manager, responsible and smart.

“Farrah has made positive changes in her life and she is thriving!” Michael continued. “She stepped away from MTV/ ‘Teen Mom OG’ (the lies and drama), her mother (who is selfish and self-serving), an old boyfriend (the relationship was toxic), and other people in her life who were users. Farrah is doing excellent!”

He also addressed Debra’s statement that she feels Sophia should be in school and not traveling around the world with her mother.

“The fact is Sophia is in school, a virtual school that permits her to do her lessons, homework and activities anywhere,” he said. “Farrah’s ‘all over the world’ travels are not partying, but 90% endorsement work. World travel is excellent education for a child’s future. Debra must have forgot that we did the same with both [Farrah’s sister] Ashley and Farrah when they were children – yes they traveled the world with us!”

Michael and Debra have been divorced for years and at odds in recent months. (They even appeared alongside Farrah on Marriage Boot Camp Reality Stars: Family Edition last year, but it doesn’t appear to have helped their relationship.)

Michael also commented on the statements Deb made about Farrah’s arrest and parenting.

“Debra Danielsen did an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com and once again went against both her daughter and granddaughter making statements that are false,” he said. “If Debra really cared, she would have listened to my request while we were finding out the details and facts.  It’s never about doing what a parent should be doing, which is supporting her daughter and not throwing her under a bus for money or to be relevant.

“If Debra takes that route [of seeking custody of Sophia] she will be only making the divide between her and Farrah only worse,” Michael added. “If Debra wants to be able to see the girls (Sophia), Debra needs to look at herself and change. Stop selling disgusting stories about Farrah which fraudulently diagnosis’s mental illness and poor parenting.  You gotta ask yourself….what kind of parent does that?”

(He is most likely referring to an interview Debra did a few months ago in which she stated that she believes Farrah suffers from mental illness.)

In regard to Farrah getting thrown in the slammer, Michael’s comments echoed what Farrah posted about the incident on her Instagram– it was all a “big misunderstanding!” (Don’t ya hate when that happens?!)

“We have seen this before,” Michael said. “The situation was blown out of proportion, a misunderstanding that occurred and there was no battery or trespassing charges. The police were doing their job even though they were misinformed and lied to by others at the hotel.”

“This is not the first time Farrah has been arrested. Back in March 2013, Farrah was picked up for DUI after celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in Nebraska.

  1. Michael, nothing you say is worth acknowledging considering you went with your daughter and sat by her side when she signed her Vivid Porn deal…absolutely disgusting and you have ZERO credibility since then. She pays you and you blindly co-sign everything she does/says. You’re not helping, you’re hurting. You’re not her parent, your part of her paid entourage!

  2. While Farrah is mentally ill, I think her dad is trying to stay on her side through all of this stuff Farrah did. I don’t blame him for doing so, he and his fiancee are the only family and support Farrah really has. Farrah’s mom is also mentally ill, so I don’t really listen to anything her mother or Farrah has to say. About Sophia on a constant party throughout the world, it would be great socially for Sophia to be around kids her age and actually have friends. I don’t know what her daughter does and does not do online, but traveling is also educational. Farrah should leave Sophia to attend regular school with a live in nanny and maybe take her on a trip here or there. While Farrah claims to have been in therapy for years now, I have to wonder if she still is or not.

  3. Aka “I’m still on the payroll so I will continue to enable my daughter’s shitty behavior until doing so no longer serves me financially.”

    Moving right along.

  4. Do y’all feel like Michael tries to kiss Farrah’s butt? It kind of seems he is scared of her and is doing everything possible to not get on her bad side.

  5. Exactly! a little gurl her age needs kids around her to help develop social skills and friendships.. I always put my kids needs and best interest in front of mine…
I hope someone will step up for this child and be an advocate for her because her inner circle isn’t.

  6. Of course the dad is going to say those things.. He doesn’t want the wrath of FARRAH or she is paying for his and new wife their traveling expenses … He is just as nuts as Farrar is and I’m not saying Debz isn’t either but the respect and horrible treatment FARRAH has given to them and along to others..u have to wonder who raised who… This whole issues with FARRAH I don’t believe its mental illness its learned behavior….

  7. What is this, am I taking crazy pills? With our current political climate and Deb OG making WAY too much sense, I’m all out of sorts. Michael sounds painfully delusional if he believes what he just said. It’s actually odd to me seeing Deb basically saying the things a lot of people have been saying for years around the Ashley. (Hi Deb!)
Anyway, this whole cut from the herd thing makes me think Farrah isn’t making nearly the same kind of money/fame or sharing either of those with Deb as before. So what is Michael getting out of this? Enabling isnt cute, Farrah is in her 20s and many are concerned about the path Sophia seems to be on. Kids need structure. And good parents, and if that isn’t gonna happen – sane good grandparents.

  8. If there is a virtual school, first of all, I have no doubt in my mind that Sophia doesn’t do everything she’s supposed to for it. There is no way that Farrah is on top of that. Second, she is never ever around other kids, how is she supposed to develop social skills and relationships?! Then we have Farrah bragging that Sophia is drinking water with gold flecks in it on some yacht – well yippee, but she has no friends, no sports or clubs or activities, no teachers or peers, no structure, and her development is extremely stunted. I don’t expect Farrah to wrap her stupid brain around any of this, but her father backing her up is disgusting. Poor Sophia is going to be beyond screwed up and all he cares about is being Farrah’s “Yes Man”. I’m over caring about Farrah straightening out her life but what she’s doing to Sophia is horrifying. She acts like she’s a little accessory. I feel just as bad for Sophia as I do for Jenelle’s kids. The whole situation is disgusting.

    1. And Michael, no one’s saying it’s bad for kids to travel. But she could do it all summer or on school breaks. Not year-round in place of a normal childhood. And let’s be real – Farrah’s not bringing her to learn about art at museums or about history at monuments. She brings her to fashion shows and old men’s yachts and high-end shops and plastic surgeon’s offices, and I don’t even want to know where else. She uses her as a prop in her Instagram photos and is so proud of her hustling. Stop hustling for one day Farrah, and be a MOTHER. All the money in the world you throw at that girl isn’t going to stop her from resenting you when she’s an adult and realizes what you did to her. You are RUINING her childhood.

    2. Michael says “Debra must have forgot that we did the same with both [Farrah’s sister] Ashley and Farrah when they were children – yes they traveled the world with us!”… or maybe she didn’t forget and she just realizes that Sophia is going to turn out exactly like Farrah has, or worse, because of it!

  9. Michael is a cuckhold for his daughter! Yuck!
My own 7 yr old is in a virtual school and is not subjected to a lot of the BS that is prevalent in schools today…we don’t have to worry about bullying, school shooters, guns, drugs, etc…but she does have playdates with peers. And though we can’t afford world travel, we do most traveling on school breaks. I don’t think virtual school is the problem in Sophia’s life…her problem is her unstable mother and grandparents, catering to her every whim, speaking baby talk to her and no real routine.

  10. Michael will never stop co-signing her bullshit. Everything is great!! That whole drunken arrest was just a misunderstanding. *eye roll* Him and the Edwards are reading from the same script.

  11. Clearly Michael is defending Farrah because he does not want to be thrown off the gravy train, but it’s obvious that in the end it’s not going to help Farrah with her narcissism and delusion and it’s going to be absolutely detrimental to poor Sophia. School is about more than doing “virtual lessons” and “activities”, it’s about learning socially acceptable interaction with one’s peers. I don’t recall having ever seen Sophia interact with children her own age (other than the time she had a slumber party), so I’m not sure how that would go, but seeing the way she behaves in general is concerning, it seems like the only stable/normal person in her life is Michael’s new fiancée. Farrah’s a disaster and she’s going to implode sooner or later, hopefully she doesn’t take Sophia off the deep end with her.

    1. After I witnessed Michael’s fiancé not saying anything when Farrah acted like a twat to that real estate agent and homeowner, I have no respect for her. She’s kissed Farr—ugh’s ass from day one, and she thinks Michael is a-ok. She’s a moron no doubt.

  12. Can someone clear something up for me? Debra said she wants to get “legal custody time” with Sophia. Is she talking about court ordered visitation or is she talking about legal physical custody? Michael will always defend Farrah no matter how wrong she is. He is not a “caring” parent. A caring parent will call out their child’s bad behaviour and not just be a yes parent .

    1. If she’s talking about keeping Sophia in school I think she wants legal physical custody. If Deb goes that route and loses I’m sure she will never see Sophia again and while I don’t think Farrah is making good parenting choices, I highly doubt there is enough to remove Sophia from her custody (see The Land for how hard it is to get children removed). Unless the people and Judge know about “yachting” and why it’s so bad for Sophia to be exposed to it.

      1. Thanks Mere! DebOG seems to also throw in some Farrahspeak in her interviews. That whole family makes my head hurt ? trying to figure out what they are saying.??

  13. According to Michael, 90% of Farrah’s traveling involves her “endorsements.”

So is that what she was doing when she recently flashed her fur piece on the catwalk at the Cannes Film Festival?

    Just asking.

  14. Funny…Michael says Debra needs to remember that as far as travel goes, they did the same with Farrah as Farrah is now doing with Sofia. That right there should tell any sane person that it’s the wrong thing to do. They did that with Farrah and look how she turned out. Obviously Deb and Michael screwed Farrah up so the argument that they did it so it ok for Farrah to do it just doesn’t hold up to me.

  15. Michael talks about how,”if Debra cared,” Michael, get your head out of Farrah’s ass. She’s a mess and poor Sophia is being subjected to it. He’s trying to make up for Farrah’s childhood by being a yes man. Michael is sick.

  16. I did not like watching farrah put down her mother on tv thats just sick how she talks to her mother and her poor daughter see that and act the same way farrah does to Deborah i am happy she is no longer on there give respect farrah and you get respect back don’t treat people like trashand expect people to treat you good because it don’t work that way that is life

  17. I’ll admit, I think Sophia is lucky to be able to travel. Most people don’t get that advantage as an adult let alone as a child. I watch some of Farrah’s snaps and think how cool that must be to go all around the world with your mom at Sophia’s age. Howeve, I’m not sure how I feel about online schooling. She isn’t completely out of school and she is getting an education but, how good is it? Will it hinder her in the future? Is Farrah really someone to help her child with school? What about socialization? All that jazz. It’s obviously an option because those types of schools are popping up for K-12.

And, I swear Farrah could murder someone and Michael would still defend her.

    1. While travelling is fine, Sophia could be doing it during summers. Right now, being out of a school setting, she will have no ability to build relationships with kids her own age which is important at that stage. Instead she is isolated to Farrah. Is she learning about different cultures and ways of life or just staying in hotels and going to the beach? This is not a emotionally healthy life for a young child IMHO

      1. And I agree. It’s great she gets to travel but, it doesn’t offer her any stability to be constantly on the move. Plus, I think online school is better suited for older kids like middle school and high school age. It just seems to take away from their social interaction.

    2. The thing is, Farrah doesn’t have Sophia’s best interests at heart. She doesn’t think she needs a proper education because well, she herself did quite well. (Yup, Farrah Speak shows us truly what a GREAT education she had! English is not my first language and even I know she makes grammar mistakes all the time, half of the time I can’t even understand what she meant)

  18. Michael is full of shit. He can’t even tell the truth when it comes to his own grandchild… and that is pathetic. Farrah has him by the pockets… literally! Debra may be far from a saint and yes, she helped create Farrah’s monsterous ass because she’s coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs herself. However, Farrah is damn near 30 years old. At least Deb has been calling her out lately and actually worried about her grandchild. How long are we going to hold her upbringing 100% responsible for how she turned out? At this age and stage in her life, THIS IS ON FARRAH and nobody else. She’s a terrible mother and Sophia is a pawn that can’t even act semi-normal. Poor Sophia doesn’t even seem like she can function highly or that great socially. I feel terrible for that child. Farrah is a nasty human being to everyone around her and a racist. She’s disgusting and selfish. My comment has probably been said 1,000 times, but oh well.

    1. I think Dr. David helped Deb see the light regarding Farrah’s narcissistic self entitled behavior. Before him, Deb was up Farrah’s a** the same way Michael is now. While I have no idea if David is in fact a real doctor I think he at least told Deb to wake up and see the monster she created and stop enabling Farrah’s delusions.

  19. Wait..What? Michael said she was a wonderful mother, smart, has made positive changes in her life and stepped away from MTV. Now who’s being delusional ?

  20. Most of Michael’s opinions are just enabling Farrah to continue the perpetual state of denial she seems to have adopted. That said, I must admit that I DO agree with Michael in one respect…Deb has NO business taking money for stories on her daughter. Whatever Farrah is, she is clearly mentally ill and that doesn’t just happen overnight. I do believe her childhood was filled with trauma. I do not, however, believe that excuses her behavior. But I think it is extremely sad that Deb seems to be aware of her daughter’s illness and isn’t bothered selling stories about it for cash. Very disgusting thing to do and does honestly make me wonder how much of Deb’s constant “love” and “concern” is real. I don’t care how awful my child is, if that’s my kid, I’m not taking money to exploit her.

  21. Farrah’s got the best from both parents: word salad from Debz OG and no accountability from Whatever Michael.
She’s got no chance & neither does Sophia.

  22. This dude is doing Farrah no favors. Always excusing Farrah’s a**hole behaviors, blaming everyone else when his daughter is called out and basically just agreeing with her regardless of what the facts show.
Sophia needs to be IN AN ACTUAL SCHOOL. With kids her own age. Playing and interacting and being a 9 year old. Not being Farrah’s best friend all over the world and a prop when Farrah wants to talk about what a great mom she is or for photo ops after Farrah gets arrested and needs to show “Sophia comes first” to make her image better. Sophia needs structure and stability. Michael, you’re a tool.

    1. I agree!

Michael is full of crap. He can’t even tell the truth when it comes to his own grandchild… and that is pathetic. Farrah has him by the pockets… literally! Debra may be far from a saint and yes, she helped create Farrah’s monsterous butt because she’s coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs herself. However, Farrah is damn near 30 years old. She’s disgusting and selfish. My comment has probably been said 1,000 times, but oh well.

  23. Oh look, Michael continues to defend Farrah against all logic. As crazy as Debz OG is, she is right that Sophia needs to be in school. Farrah is clearly not stable and she is not a good parent. I don’t know that giving custody to Deb is the right choice though. It’s obvious that Deb and Michael did a number on Farrah, and have only gotten crazier, so that poor little girl is screwed.
