Bickering, Bad Haircuts & Another Bathtub Baby: TLC Releases Preview for Upcoming Season of ‘Sister Wives’

“Yep, we’re just as unhappy as the last time you saw us.”

TLC just released the trailer for Season 14 of Sister Wives. Can you believe we’ve been watching the trainwreck for more than a decade? Neither can we.

As you may recall, Season 13 ended with the Brown Family riding off into the sunset to Flagstaff, Arizona, where patriarch Kody Brown thought all of the family problems would be solved.

Spoiler: Much like his decision to continue to rocking that ponytail of his, Kody thought wrong.

A visual representation of every single one of Kody’s ideas.

In the two-minute trailer for the new season, we find the Brown Family suffering from financial and personal issues, along with a plethora of other problems that arise when involved in a plural marriage that has been documented on TV for far too long. Among said issues is Kody’s second wife, Janelle, returning to Las Vegas every weekend to try to sell the four homes the wives lived in previously. Unfortunately for the Browns— who are paying five mortgages at the moment— no one seems to want to live on the Cul de Sac of Broken Dreams.

“There has been no interest in the homes,” Janelle tells us.

“Maybe I should’ve made a bigger sign… “

The entire family is worried. Kody’s third wife Christine says, “Financially, we are DROWNING.”

Kody (and his permed ponytail, now featuring some unfortunate shaved sides) hold a family meeting to let the wives know they’re in danger.

“This could ruin us,” he says.

How are these houses not flying off the market? Haven’t they seen Meri’s wet bar?!

Speaking of Kody’s first wife, things are tense with Meri and the rest of the family, as per usual. Meri tells her trusty therapist that she and Kody are together for the family but that he doesn’t treat her like a wife. Kody argues that he can’t have a relationship with Meri because she always plays the victim, although on this show, we think it’s safe to say everyone is a victim.

Also a victim? Us after having to see this….

At one point, Kody’s fourth wife, Robyn tries to defend Meri but Kody is not having it. He tells Robyn that she is the one always getting table scraps of his attention and that she needs to stop defending Meri at every turn.

Oh, and we also get another memorable water birth in a bathtub courtesy of Maddie this season, so there’s that.

The encore nobody asked for.

On the bright side, at least there was no mention of the catfish this time.

‘Sister Wives’ returns Sunday, January 5 at 10/9c on TLC. Check out the season’s trailer below!

  1. When Kody started whining about how broke they were because they are paying for the 4 houses in Las Vegas, the land in Flagstaff and the 4 houses they are renting in Flagstaff (assuming Meri finds a house) I wanted to scream at the TV Kody it was YOUR idea to hurry up and move before you had sold your houses. They wives I’m sure are thinking the same thing. Most families couldn’t afford those expenses but since this family gets paid big bucks to be on TV they will manage.

  2. I actually noticed in one interview,I can’t remember if it was with Cody or one of the wives, they were sitting in a recliner and behind them there was a huge gouge Mark in the wall, the carpets always looked stained and there was just “stuff ” everywhere. Baskets of clothes, wardrobes a mess, bathrooms were just trashed. VERY UNTIDY. It dosen’t surprise me what you saw at open houses.

  3. More drama=more $$. I might actually watch this season. Remember how “private” and limited with what they allowed to say on camera. Portraying this perfect ideal plural family and it DOES work, if you’re “good people” like them. So looks like they aren’t holding back on some stuff that used to be a huuuuge no no in the earlier seasons. I guess Meri’s “situation” really opened the Brown’s eyes that “so what if this is humiliating on its own, much less in a plural family, and on national television to boot. So they’ve finally given in and maybe got with the program a little and some of the REAL family dynamics come out.

Kody’s hair looks like he is one of these “housewives” who hire hair and makeup to attempt and make him look the least Neanderthal-ish they can. His very own glam squad. And I bet he doesn’t share Him/her/them with his wives.

He’s so clearly over Meri, he doesn’t even try to pretend anymore. It would looks worse for him to dump her than her to dump him so IMO he’s trying to simply force her hand. Idk whether it was bc of catfish or the divorce, but clearly you can see from just the preview of how he’s quit catering to her on camera and holding his tongue and frankly doesn’t bother to make any effort to give her the time of day unless his other wives force him.

Yep. I might actually watch this season.

  4. I live in Las Vegas. The houses are all now sold (surprisingly) but I went to look at 3 during an open house after Robyn’s had sold. Honestly, they were asking too much for houses that were clearly beat up by having a million children running around. Meri’s was the least worn down, the wet bar was… a wet bar. Christine’s house was honestly the worst, I was shocked at how bad 7 year old houses could be so beat up. The carpeting in the stairs was worn down to the liner, holes in doors and walls, very cheap material, no customizations, and clearly not taken care of. Kody clearly got into these houses as cheap as possible.
If anyone remembers watching the one episode when their old realtor told Christine to fix up all the issues in her house before selling it… she obviously didn’t.

    1. I’m just now getting caught up in this show.
And right from the first season these women were struggling, Meri and Christine especially.
Christine didn’t want another wife brought in , BUT Meri “CLICKED ” with Robyn instantly , commenting on how cute she was and he should get her to dance and it was ALSO Meri who wanted Robyn to become a wife….. I just don’t think Meri wanted Cody involved, ..Thats why Meri is finding it so hard. I think you’re right with your theory !
Meri is in love with Robyn !
And if that’s not the case she’s definitely got those tendencies.

  5. So I don’t really want to watch the trailer, so can someone clarify for me – did Kody say that ROBYN was the one getting the table scraps of his attention? If so, does he seriously want us to believe that after we’ve seen it all? What a douche.

  6. I would give my right arm to be two minutes younger. I can never unsee repulsive, narcissistic Kody in his undies🤮. How can he get more vile every single year?
