How To Rent Roloff Farms: ‘Little People Big World’ Farmhouse Is Now Open For Short-Term Rentals; Matt Roloff Says Renters May Get to Work On the Farm

“Come stay a while…and don’t forget to bring your work boots.”

Little People Big World fans can now live like the Roloffs, as the former family home is now open for short-term rental stays!

According to the rental website, fans can stay at the Hillsboro, Oregon, farm starting this week, but it won’t be cheap. A stay at Roloff Farms will run you anywhere from $566 to $2906 a night (three nights minimum). The six-bedroom farmhouse can sleep up to 16, and includes amenities such as a hot tub, game room, screening room, six-car garage and an in-ground pool.

“All of the families that looked at the farm but couldn’t get their heads around the long-term commitment of purchasing it are now gonna be able to stay here as a short-term rental, so I think Airbnb,” Matt told Entertainment Tonight this week. “We’re gonna set the farm up for more people to share it, for a week or less than a week. So we’re very excited about that.”

Those hoping to enjoy some of the most-recognizable parts of the farm that have been seen on ‘LPBW’ may be a bit disappointed though. According to the rental website, “some of the more unique farm features can be viewed from a distance, [but] they are not accessible or included in the rental. This includes but is not entirely limited to the Western Town, Castle, Barns, Pond, etc.”

There are touches included, though, that fans of ‘Little People Big World’ will be excited about. According to the rental website photos, a large photo of the original Roloff Family hangs in the front entryway of the home, while Amy’s cookbook is displayed in the farmhouse kitchen. Posters from the show’s run are hung throughout the house, including a (somewhat creepy) life-size cutout of the entire clan.

Those interested in vacationing on Roloff Farms will not only get to sleep in the home formerly occupied by the Roloff family, but also get the full farming experience.

“More people could actually enjoy the farm and get a taste of it,” Matt told ET. “We might even let them use the mowers so they can get a real feel of what it’s like to do the work [on the farm].”

Allowing the temporary tenants to contribute to the workload will not only be a novelty to vacationers, but it will free up Matt from doing the bulk of the work himself, which is one of the main reasons he was interested in selling the property to begin with.

“ … The idea that we are gonna continue to own the farm and I will have to continue to maintain it and be responsible for the maintenance of it, which is the part I don’t like about it,” Matt said. “Because that’s the part I was trying to get rid of the most was the maintenance.”

(Matt also has youngest son Jacob Roloff helping out around the farm, as the 25-year-old has moved into a fifth-wheel camper with wife Isabel and son Mateo, located on a piece of property next to Roloff Farms.)

In addition to getting to contribute to the work on Roloff Farms, the rental experience may also include an appearance from Matt’s ex-wife Amy Roloff.

“I’m trying to talk to Amy and talk her into coming and doing cooking lessons in her house while people are staying,” he said, adding that the suggestion was actually made by Amy’s husband, Chris Marek.

“Don’t hold your breath.”

Turning the home into a vacation rental may also help to ease some tensions inside the Roloff family. (As The Ashley has previously reported, Matt and his son Zach have been at odds since they were unable to come to an agreement on Zach buying part of the farm. Matt went on to put the disputed acres on the market and later insinuated that Zach and his twin Jeremy were to blame for the sale, causing Zach to take to Instagram to call his father “manipulative” and other choice words.)

Matt said opening the home for short-term rentals will be “like having a family timeshare,” admitting that it “should maybe have been Plan A,” as it will allow all of the Roloff kids to use the farm when they want to. (In addition to Zach, Jeremy and Jacob, Matt and Amy also share daughter Molly.)

“The one thing I always wanted was for the kids to figure out a way to share the farm, all four kids,” Matt said. “And now with this new arrangement, it is shared because these kids can block out time, family members can block out weeks or days.”

  1. I really want to rent the Roluoff Farm how exciting it looks so beautiful I can’t wait but I have to save money.. hopefully for our 40th Anniversary wow 👌

  2. Frankly, I think that Chris’ idea that Amy give cooking lessons, at her house, to the Roloff Farm AirB&B renters is a bad one. Thats only gonna open up a can of worms with her, Matt, and Chris. And all though Zach says he no longer cares what his father Matt says and does with the farm. It will somehow, affect him too. DON’T DO IT, AMY!

  3. You and your whole family are a disgusting, filthy, uncouth, major hoarding etc. etc… cooking classes with filthy Amy who sticks her filthy fingers in pots while cooking, and serves that same food to people. Work on your ridiculous farm for free. No way is that happening. Bring in your own family to do your “fun experience” free labor. You obviously don’t know real-estate prices either. Only an idiot would pay those ridiculous prices. Go keep lying on your BORING non reality show.

  4. Looks to me like it is going to be more work and more expense. Here is a question, who is going to clean and do the laundry after the guest leave the premises. For sanitary purposes the hot tub will also need to be cleaned after each rental. Better think it over again Matt. Should have sold it to the children and been done with it. So so sad. GRD

  5. I hope he proposes. Caryn is more legitimate than that phoney tori who I think is behind the conflict between Matt and Zach. Tori is the goldfigger, not Caryn.

  6. What a wonderful idea! I think it’s a perfect solution. I think Zach and Tori are having such a hard time keeping up their home and frustrated with the kids although loving them in abundance, they won’t have been able to keep the farm going.

  7. It would have been nice if Matt had asked the kids interested in buying the house to submit a closed bid. The highest bidder would have gotten the property. What a joy to have your kids and grandkids to live so close, and the grandkids able to bond with grandpa in a way some pray for. For some, it is a blessing for parents to have kids who want to return home and be near the parents. You should rethink this Matt.

  8. It doesn’t hurt to try out new ideas. It’s far better than Zach and Tori’s incessant whining, and Amy constantly and gleefully fanning the flames. At least Chris is willing to pitch in and lend a hand during pumpkin season. That shows class…something the others are sorely lacking.

  9. LOL. And if had just sold it to his sons, he could have been done with this.

Just what everyone wants to do on vacation, is pay a fortune to work on a farm.

  10. This is a beautiful piece of property. I visited the farm a few years back while on vacation visiting my own children in Scappoose Or. Don’t think of mowing think of picking or planting pumpkins, setting up the gift shop tending to the chickens while visiting. Btw the dtg name is Molly and the ex wife is Amy.

    1. I find the statement,”I’m trying to talk to Amy and talk her into coming and doing cooking lessons in her house” absolutely ludicrous! Matt low balled the price he paid her to get out and now he says HER house? I don’t believe for 1 second her wonderful now hubby, Chris, suggested that either! That HAD to be a typo.
Just like the typo of their 4th child, Amy. Molly is the correct name.
Maybe the price to stay and work are also typos. If not, good luck Matt! You’re going to need it!

  11. I’m not sure how many people would want to rent an expensive Air BNB and mow Matt’s yard while on vacation. They could mow their own much smaller yards for free back at their own house.

    1. I honestly think this is the biggest mistake of Matt’s life. He was crazy not to sell the farm to the boys. Now he has alot more work for himself. I think Caren had the biggest influence on not selling it to the boys. If I were to stay there I am NOT going to work there. Maybe Caren can mow the grass. Matt you are in over your head now and you destroyed the family traditions. GREED is the word for you. Amy sold you her part of the farm cheap to keep it in the family. You double the price and put so much money for an airbnb. When all you had to do is not listen to Caren. No wonder she isn’t on the show anymore she has got to feel awful to have talked Matt into a disastrous mess. Good luck renting it out. I sure wouldn’t stay there after what you did. Remember to thank Caren for ruining your family.
