HGTV Releases First Trailer For ‘Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge’: Watch the Network’s Superstars Bring the Dreamhouse to Life

Calling all Barbie fans…

Barbie’s world-famous Dreamhouse is being supersized, courtesy of some of HGTV’s biggest superstars.

As The Ashley previously reported, Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge will premiere on HGTV this summer and will bring together eight teams of home design and renovation experts from the network who will face off to bring one of the world’s most iconic toys to life. In the just-released trailer for the show, we see a plethora of HGTV stars working to transform a standard California home into an actual Barbie Dreamhouse.

Hosted by supermodel Ashley Graham, the four-episode series promises plenty of Barbie nostalgia, pop culture history, celebrity guests, surprises and, presumably, a whole lot of pink.

“As a millennial, I was literally born to host this show.”

“Get ready for the renovation event you never knew you needed!” the trailer exclaims.

The 15 HGTV stars (and one Food Network chef) contributing to the creation of Barbie’s Dreamhouse, include husband and wife duo Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson of Married to Real Estate; Jasmine Roth of Help! I Wrecked My House and Antonia Lofaso of Beachside Brawl; HGTV OG/star of Rock the Block, Ty Pennington, and Alison Victoria of Windy City Rehab; and Jonathan Knight and Kristina Crestin of Farmhouse Fixer.

Also teaming up for the competition series are Christina on the Coast stars Christina Hall and James Bender; Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas of Bargain Block; Brian and Mike Kleinschmidt of 100 Day Dream Home; and Luxe for Less stars Michael Smith Boyd and Anthony Elle Williams.

Christina Hall, here to renovate/raid Barbie’s life-sized closet.

Throughout the series, teams will renovate different areas of the home into Barbie’s real-life Dreamhouse, complete with era-specific styles.

Viewers can expect to see an early 1960s atomic age kitchen in the Dreamhouse, along with a ’70s disco theme Den for Ken and a master bedroom decked in ’80s glam, according to a press release for the upcoming series.

Once the home has been completely overhauled, one of Barbie’s biggest fans will even have the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime stay at the Dreamhouse…just make sure to pack your own hairbrush.

Human-sized accessories in said-Dreamhouse are apparently sold separately.

‘Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge’ is set to premiere on HGTV and stream on MAX this summer. Watch the first trailer below!

  1. That they didn’t have Trixie Mattel host this is criminal. I like Ashley Graham a lot, but what a wasted opportunity.

    1. OMG she would’ve been perfect! You’re 100% right. What a wasted opportunity! I have nothing against Ashley but she doesn’t strike me as the Barbie type of girl. I’ll probably get raked over the coals for that comment- I guess I just mean she’s not exactly on the list of 50 people that would pop in my head as perfect for this opportunity.
