‘Vanderpump Rules’ Star Ariana Madix Named New Host of ‘Love Island’: “I Can’t Wait to Stir Up Some Trouble in Paradise”

Someone better check on Scheana Shay to see how she’s handling this news…

The opportunities just keep on coming for Ariana Madix.

The Vanderpump Rules star announced Friday that she has been named the new host of Love Island.

“Talk about a bombshell,” Ariana said Friday on Instagram. “This summer, I’m trading rhinestone buckles for bikinis–- I’m hosting the next season of ‘Love Island USA,’ streaming this summer on Peacock. I can’t wait to stir up some trouble in paradise.”

Ariana recorded her video from New York City’s Ambassador Theater, where she’s currently starring as Roxy Hart in “Chicago” on Broadway through April 7.

According to Us Weekly, the ‘Vanderpump Rules’ star’s new gig will take her to Fiji, where ‘Love Island’ Seasons 6 and 7 are set to film. (The show was renewed for two more seasons back in November.)

‘Love Island’ has aired on Peacock for the past three seasons, hosted by actress Sarah Hyland, who took over hosting duties from original host Arielle Vandenberg. Sarah announced earlier this week that her time as host of ‘Love Island’ was coming to an end, though she didn’t reveal who would be taking over the role in her absence.

“Well, just got a text,” she posted to her Instagram Story. “I’m disappointed the news had to break this way but it is, in fact, true that I will not be returning to the island this summer. I have committed to an exciting project that will be announced soon that conflicts directly with the shooting dates for ‘Love Island USA.’

“While I’m sad I can’t return, I hope to see lots of love this summer on Peacock this upcoming season!” Sarah added.

Although the upcoming season will be Ariana’s first as the official host of ‘Love Island USA,’ she has previously appeared as a special guest and guest host on both ‘Love Island’ and Love Island Games

In addition to her hosting gig on ‘Love Island’ and her role in Chicago, Ariana has had a multitude of brand deals, TV gigs and other opportunities thrown her way since last year, when she discovered that her longtime boyfriend, Tom Sandoval, had been having an affair with their ‘Vanderpump Rules’ co-star and friend Rachel Leviss. Since the affair— dubbed “Scandoval”—Ariana has banked over $1 million in brand deals, etc.

Fresh from her appearance on Dancing With The Stars, Ariana recently purchased a new home in Los Angeles.

Ariana scoring the gig on ‘Love Island’ helped her accomplish the three goals she set for her future during an October 2023 interview with Us Weekly.  Ariana told the magazine that, in the future, she hoped to own her own home (since she and Sandoval purchased their home in Valley Village, California, together). Her other two goals included appearing on Broadway and hosting a dating show, both of which she has now accomplished.

And nothing for Tom Sandoval!

  1. I can’t stand this woman. The way people are falling over themselves to have her do things and “influence” is ridiculous. You’d think she’s the first woman to ever have been cheated on in history. Not to mention she started on this show as a cheater herself. It’s enough now.

  2. So I finally caved and started watching this new season of VPR and omg Ariana is just mean. People cheat everyday, is it okay? No. But holy crap she milked that and made people miserable and made them choose sides. She didn’t outwardly say it but she did insinuate it and worded it to make it clear what she would do had someone even forgiven Tom. She really got on my nerves. And let me tell you, my ex husband cheated on me our entire marriage. Never acted like this about it.
