Last week, The Ashley asked you to vote for your favorite (and least favorite) reality TV stars, shows and moments of 2024. The Ashley gathered up the most-loved, most-hated and most-jaw-dropping, and you voted for your favorites! 

And now…the results are in!

Biggest Reality TV Trainwreck of 2024:

Kody Brown (‘Sister Wives’) 

Kody has taken this “honor” for the third year in a row! Thanks to his disrespect of his exes, as well as his disregard for his kids and his willingness to wear an actual hairnet on TV, Kody was named reality TV’s biggest trainwreck for 2024. Kody’s life (and hair) is in shambles, but the Brown Family patriarch can’t seem to see that he is the root of his own problems.

Honorable Mention: Amber Portwood (‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’) 

 

Most Shocking Reality TV Split of 2024:

Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon & Josh Efird (‘Mama June: Family Crisis’) 

‘Mama June’ fans were shocked in August when Pumpkin filed for divorce from Josh after six years of marriage, seemingly out of nowhere. The couple was raising four young kids together (in addition to parenting Pumpkin’s sister Alana) and appeared to be on good terms, so fans were not expecting Pumpkin to leave Josh. Even more shocking is the trashbaggery that came next: Pumpkin immediately began dating Josh’s cousin, Darrin Kitchens, while Josh moved on with a woman named Keelie…who just happened to be pregnant…with a baby who might be Darrin’s! AS.YOU.DO.

Honorable Mention: Jenelle Evans & David Eason (‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’) 

 

Biggest Reality TV Villain of 2024:

Kody Brown (‘Sister Wives’) 

This marks the fourth year that Kody has been named the biggest reality TV villain! Kody has made himself hard to like and few people— including his own kids and the shows’ fans— remain on “Team Kody.” For the last few years, Kody has come across as aggressive, egotistical and just plain mean on the show, so it’s no surprise that he was once again voted “Biggest Villian.” 

Honorable Mention: David Eason (‘Teen Mom 2’) 

 

Most-Shocking Reality TV-Related Scandal of 2024:

Amber Portwood’s Fiancé Gary Wayt Goes “Missing”…But Really Just Ghosts Her 

During a whirlwind week in June, Amber went from happily engaged to sobbing on the Internet over her fiancé, Gary 2.0, who had suddenly gone “missing” during a vacation with Amber. The ‘Teen Mom’ star cried on social media, begging for Gary’s safe return and even got law enforcement involved…only for Gary to turn up safe a few days later after going on the run from Amber! Cops dropped the missing persons case after Gary reported that he was “missing” voluntarily, and Amber’s engagement ended soon after.

Best Reality TV Comeback/Change of 2024:

Janelle Brown (‘Sister Wives’) 

Last year, Janelle’s former sister wife, Christine, took this honor, but 2024 was the year of Janelle! The former second wife of Kody Brown used 2024 to put plenty of distance between her and her ex– moving across the country to be closer to some of her kids. Janelle also started a farm business and began to enjoy living her Kody-free life! 

Honorable Mention: Ryan Edwards (‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’)

 

Most Jaw-Dropping Moment of Reality TV in 2024:

Amber Portwood Calls Her Teen Daughter Leah a “Dick” at Her Birthday Dinner (‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’)

Amber goes out to dinner with her daughter Leah, as well as Leah’s dad Gary Shirley and his family and…it does not go well. Not only does Amber arrive late, but she monopolizes the conversation with talk about her new boyfriend–instead of giving attention to her daughter, who was turning 15. The dinner goes from bad to worse when Amber yells at Leah and calls her a dick, leaving the teen in tears at her own birthday dinner. The shocking scene was voted the most jaw-dropping reality TV moment of 2024!

Honorable Mention: Kody Brown Says His Exes Were Good for “Orgasms” But Not Intimacy; Blames His Kids for their Estrangement (‘Sister Wives’) 

 

Favorite New Reality TV Show of 2024:

‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’

Reality TV fans couldn’t get enough of the MomTok gals from Utah— and the drama, fights and scandals that came with them! ‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ had a great freshman season for Hulu and has already been renewed for a second season, which is coming soon.

Reality TV Show That Should Retire After 2024:

‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’

For the last few years, Roundup readers have made it clear that they feel that the ‘Teen Mom’ franchise is a bit long-in-the-tooth and needs to end, but MTV has not received the message. For over 16 years, we’ve been watching the girls and guys of ‘Teen Mom’ pick fights, parent and avoid getting real jobs, and there seems to be no end in sight for their franchise, as a brand-new season of ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ is right around the corner! 

Honorable Mention: ‘Mama June: Family Crisis’

 

Overall Favorite Reality TV Show of 2024:

“90 Day Fiance”

For the first time in several years, “90 Day Fiance” has snagged this honor back. With its endless supply of spin-offs, there’s no lack of “90 Day” drama on TV, and fans can’t seem to get enough. However, “90 Day Fiance” barely captured this win, with only three votes separating it from the show with the next-highest votes, ‘Sister Wives!’
