Kail Lowry Says Her Goal Is to Have People Forget She Came From ‘Teen Mom’; Claims She Was “Pigeonholed” By Show’s Editing

“I’ve come a long way from being the girl who demanded that Jo hold her foot, OK?”

Kail Lowry got her start in the entertainment industry by appearing on the Teen Mom franchise, but in a new interview, she says she hopes everyone will eventually forget she was once a knocked-up kid on an MTV reality show.

In a new interview with People, Kail stated that she wants to be known for her business endeavors, rather than her reality TV past.

“I hope to potentially keep building the brands to the point where people don’t necessarily remember me as someone on ‘Teen Mom,'” she told the magazine.

Surprisingly, Kail said she also hopes to eventually be able to remove her mug from the spotlight.

“Because clearly I just hate the attention…”

“I hope to build successful brands to the point where I’m able to take a step back from [them], because I think a part that gets overlooked a lot is that everything that I do rides on my name,” she said. “With that comes the fact that I was on ‘Teen Mom,’ because that’s where my following came from… It’s building something to a place where I can take a step back and not be the face of everything. I think that would be the goal for the next 15 years.”

While Kail hopes people forget that they met her on reality TV, she stated she doesn’t regret signing on for ‘Teen Mom 2.’

“I’m thankful that I was on it,” she said. “I don’t have many regrets about it. To this day, I think it was the right decision.”

“But if we could forget that whole “Wawa” fiasco, though, that would be great.”

Kail quit ‘Teen Mom 2’ in May 2022, and later revealed on a podcast that her decision to leave the show was based heavily on the fact that she had become unexpectedly pregnant (again!), this time by her now-fiancée Elijah Scott.

“Yeah, I left in 2022 when I got pregnant with my fifth son [Rio] because I was like, ‘I can’t, we’re not doing this,’” she said on the Just Trish podcast in 2024. (Kail did not actually confirm that she had given birth to Baby No. 5 until nearly a year after her son Rio was born.)

During that same 2024 interview, Kail confirmed that she was tired of being made to talk about her baby daddy drama on ‘Teen Mom 2,’ which also played a part in her quitting the show.

Kail during most of her final season of ‘Teen Mom 2’…

In her new interview with People, the mom of seven said that she often felt “pigeonholed” by how she was portrayed on ‘Teen Mom 2,’ and that she started being very selective about what she would film about, due to how the editing on the show would make her look and fans would react.

“I think closer to the time that I decided to leave the franchise, it was more of [me feeling] like, ‘I am making very calculated decisions and sharing only certain things or making myself available at certain times for certain reasons,'” Kail said. “It made it very difficult for production to create a full picture and full story for me on the show.

“At that point it was like, ‘I have to think about how it’s going to play out for the viewers and that is how people will perceive whatever it is that I’m going through or doing.'”

“We miss the good ol’ days. That Kail vs. Briana was reality TV GOLD!”

“And that was really, really hard for me because I wasn’t the same person that I was when I started,” she added. “…We would not be able to tell the full story the way that we wanted to and the way that it really happened. You’re edited down to four minutes a cast member, and I didn’t want certain things to not be shown. I wanted more of a full picture.”

  1. She wasn’t pigeonholed. She chose to have countless babies and sign up for countless seasons. She knew what she was doing. Getting paid. Everything she has is thanks to her exposure from Teen Mom. The sooner Kail and the other moms on that show realize that, the better off they’ll be. Chelsea is the only one who has ventured far enough from the show to accomplish that. She also left before she became a Teen Mom lifer like Kail, Maci, Amber and the other talentless lottery winners.

  2. I’ll always remember when Kail was graduating college and fretting about having to start at the “bottom” again if she were to get a job outside of Teen Mom

  3. I think Kailyn hasn’t shown herself to be a good person and she had a terrible personality. With that being said, she had the best work ethic of any of the Teen Mom women. She worked a regular job up until she had Lincoln, has a bachelor degree and has had several business ventures to varying degrees of success. She has worked way more than any of the other women.

  4. I just watched her 16 and pregnant episode, and man, I forgot how whiny she is. She was completely ungrateful for Jo’s parents’ help and they had to put up with her nonstop bitching! Felt (and seemingly still feels) that everyone owes her and needs to coddle her ass.

    1. Yes, Jo’s parents too k her in AND d rode Jo pretty damned hard to step up as a father to be. They were far, far better to her than her blood family. not that that is saying much..and all they got in return was whining and cheating.

  5. She was pigeonholed as what? The woman who had multiple children with multiple men? The woman who was petty and started unnecessary drama with pretty much every single person in her life?

All of that is true, so it seems like TM portrayed her pretty accurately.

    1. Wow. She can be a bitch and it’s not cool to have so many babies with different daddies. However, she’s not the worst by far. JE, AP, immediately come to mind.
About her being mean to Jo and his parents, yep, she was ungrateful and disrespectful, but because of her age, family background, pregnancy hormones, immaturity, that shouldn’t be held against her all these years later.

  6. Kail- You would have NEVER had ANY of these opportunities if it WAS NOT for Teen mom, so none of us really get what you are trying to convey… LOL. You started there and then I suppose you could say you are well known for having a million children with just as many baby daddies… So if it were me, based on that, I’d rather be known for Teen mom LOL. Let’s stop acting like you are a “celebrity” or even relevant. SMH. You aren’t liable and regardless of how you “think” the show “made” you look- you are KAIL. And Kail, is trash IMO

  7. Everyone here bashing Kail when she’s the one with millions. No one here knows what’s going on in her home. You all just love to hate.

    1. I’d rather have privacy for myself and my family along with a non-messy life vs Kail’s money. No hate here, just snark on her messy life and inflated ego. She puts herself out there to make a buck so she sets herself up for criticism.

      1. Criticism and hate are 2 different things. Just because you would rather something doesn’t mean she would. She also doesn’t parade her kids or how she parents them around so everyone bashing her parenting are making assumptions. She hasn’t had that part of her life public for many years. The hate is unnecessary. It blows my mind how so many people can hate on someone who has no affect on their lives or even know her real life. It’s pathetic.

        1. You act like YOU know what’s going on in her home. 🤔 Well. It blows my mind people will go to bat obsessively for someone they’ve never met and who has shown her true colors many times very publicly. So, we’re even. Go touch some grass.

          1. Because standing up for people is the right thing to do. Regardless of what her life is like NOBODY here knows so making assumptions and being a horrible human by judging someone based on those assumptions is wrong. People jusge to feel superior no other reason.

    2. I will “bash” any and all parents that fail to take proper care of their children’s medical needs. This goes double for parents who can easily afford it. I don’t gaf what else she does right in life, or how much money she has (all that proves is money can’t buy her good sense). If you don’t take care of your children, you are a POS, and deserve the criticism.

Why would anyone “love to hate”, wtf does that even mean? Yes, most people care about the health and wellbeing of children that are not their own children. Newsflash….that’s normal, human behavior. What’s not normal, is not caring at all about others-that’s dysfunctional, at best.

Ftr, she does not vaccinate, she does not get her children regular well checkups, she does not follow orders when told to isolate due to exposure to serious diseases and illnesses, like the measles, while having immuno-compromised kids in her home. She prefers to be as hands off as possible (that’s not me knocking her, it’s HER truth, SHE has said it, countless times). She is definitely not the worst “mom” in the franchise, not by a long shot, but she sure as hell is a terrible one. She does, absolutely, parade her kids on social media. She uses them, their lives, what they’re going through, etc.. as fodder for her podcast(s). She’s always done this, it isn’t new, if it weren’t for her kids, she’d have no drama, let alone baby daddy drama, therefore, no podcast. She’s no better than the rest of them, willing to sell whatever is currently going on in her kids’ life to whatever rag wants to buy it.

Money doesn’t make someone a good parent, and the fact that one of the “nice” things people have to say about her is that she knows how to make money is used as some kind of measure for her parenting capabilities…..is really sad, lol.

    3. Amber, millions she wouldn’t have if she didn’t ho around.

I just recently saw a video on YouTube where Isaac told her “if you would make you men where condoms you wouldn’t have us”…its bad when your 15 (or maybe he’s 16) year old puts you in your place!!!!

  8. Kail thinks because she is financially successful that she is automatically a good mom. She is just like her mother Smirnof Suzi but without the alcohol. The prioritizing men and thinking you are “all that” is very similar. Kail is a good example of how “money can’t buy you happiness”.

    1. Thank you! I hate when people say “Well, she can afford her kids, so she’s a good mom”- Like, no. That doesn’t make you a good mom. You still need to spend quality time with each child and frankly. four kids under the age of 5 is a LOT on it’s own and she has others in addition… Just because she has money, doesn’t mean anything really

      1. Janelle can afford her kids too and nobody has ever accused her of being a good mom.

In Kail’s case, money doesn’t buy happiness or class.

    2. YESSSS!!! She is not present with those children. Idk what you buy them they will still say their mom wasn’t there, her money was.

    1. They all seem to believe they are rich becuase they have “talent.” Kail’s is spreading her legs for every man she encounters.

  9. No Kail. You are who you are.
You are the same girl who was screaming at Joe, sneaking around with co workers, smacking around Javi and cheating on him.
    Same girl.
Your address changed. That’s about it.

  10. She’s mostly known for not being capable of successfully using contraception. Unless she intended to get pregnant by every man that blows his beans up her.

  11. yall can say whatever yall want about kail but she has interviewed so many famous people like trisha paytas, gypsy rose, amanda knox and colleen hoover to do an interview and colleen refuses to do interviews too, i feel like that goal isn’t even far fetched to begin with especially when she’s proven to be successful even without teen mom

      1. YouTube personalities, a convicted murderer and someone’s whose murder conviction was overturned are not famous.

      2. Amanda Knox is pretty well known to a lot of people. She was in Italy and accused of murdering her roommate. Which she absolutely did not do not do .It was a whole ugly situation.

    1. Yes. Proximity to Z list celebs and tabloid stars is a real claim to fame.
      She’s a regular Geraldo Rivera.

    2. Literally not a single one of those “opportunities” (if you’d like to call them that) would have happened without her first being on TM. She wasn’t, and isn’t, successful without TM. Anything she has built is because the TM franchise put her out there. I won’t denigrate any success she has had at certain things, because it’s there. But NONE, and I do mean absolutely NONE of that was derived by her own hard work. Many of the people in the franchise have had various different opportunities handed to them (whether or not they were successful or took advantage of those opportunities). All of that is because they were first part of the franchise, it just is.

Those “interviews” aren’t the flex you, or she, think/s they are, lol. I used to work for a radio station, I can’t even tell you how many artists, bands, record labels and producers I interviewed and chatted with over the years. That alone, or even largely, isn’t a measure of my own success in life, or some weird flex. It’s just part of my chosen job-one which I liked immensely, but still part of my job, lol. Do you think I’d ever get the opportunity to speak to those same people without that job? If so, I have an ocean front property in Idaho you might be interested in.

      1. I think she might, at best, have completed that dental assistant program…maybe. But if she had it woudl ALSO have been due to the help she got from both Jo and Javi, AND their families, who took on all the child care she’d never have been able to afford to pay for.

    3. You just compared her to Gypsy Rose. A woman who convinced a mentally disturbed man to murder her mother. Are you okay? 😂 Almost all the people you listed are INFAMOUS, not famous.

  12. I’m always blown away by these articles. What does Kail bring to the table beyond teen mom? What does she think will set her apart? Though Chelsea stepped out of the TM realm, she will always be TM famous.

She’s been off the show for years making similar choices in her life. Whether she chose to disclose it right away or later- it doesn’t change the fact that she’s still a grown woman making teenage decisions. It’s insane to me that they think we want to watch kids pick out tile or buy a cell phone. We watched this show for the insane choices and drama

I am not a Kail hater- I just can’t fathom these inflated egos. GIRL- what else are you “creating”? So stupid.
