In a new interview with People, Kail Lowry revealed that her eldest child, Isaac Rivera, wants to get into acting after spending nearly his whole life on reality TV.
The former Teen Mom 2 star, who shares 15-year-old Isaac with ex Jo Rivera, told the outlet that Isaac recently appeared in his first school play and has since expressed an interest in pursuing acting as a career.
“He did opening night and then it was a full weekend of the play,” she said. “That was really, really cool to experience that for the first time. And I think that he’s really found his people and what he loves to do.
“He wants an agent now and wants to act,” she continued. “And so, I love that for him.”
While Isaac literally began appearing on TV at birth, Kail noted that the teen has only dipped his toe into a public-facing life at this point– first by appearing on 16 and Pregnant and ‘Teen Mom 2’ and more recently by entering the “young influencer space.” Kail said she and Isaac have conversations about the pros and cons of being a public figure, with the mom-of-seven claiming that she understands her son “not wanting to be recognized publicly, but also loving the community that he’s built online.”
“He has a very big social media presence and he loves theater and drama and that sort of thing,” she said. “I worry about the conflict that he will be presented with if he ever was to get an agent and be in movies because part of it is being publicly recognized, but then you want your privacy.”
Like other kids from the ‘Teen Mom’ franchise, Isaac is active on social media and currently boasts more than 400,000 followers on Instagram alone. (While Isaac’s profile is public, it is “supervised” by Kail, according to his bio.)
Kail said she believes it’s “been challenging” for Isaac to ignore the fact that people recognize him in public for being on reality TV, as he’d also like to be recognized publicly for his social media influencing or, eventually, his acting roles.
“ … I don’t know what that looks like for the future, but we’ll see,” Kail said.
As The Ashley told you earlier this week, Kail revealed to People that while the ‘Teen Mom’ franchise is where she got her start in the entertainment industry, she hopes to one day be known for her business endeavors. The podcast host also said she hopes to eventually be out of the spotlight all together, ideally within “the next 15 years.”
Although she’d like for people to forget that she made a name for herself by appearing on reality TV, Kail said she doesn’t regret signing on for ‘Teen Mom 2.’
“I’m thankful that I was on it,” she said. “I don’t have many regrets about it. To this day, I think it was the right decision.”

Omg Isaac is not doing this because of kail.. he’s into this because he is just this specific type of person.. it’s just a specific genre of people that like the theater in this specific area of being what they are.. its def not kails fault unless you think it’s all parents faults when their kids are this type of person, who also like this type of thing.

Fact of the matter is, her tv career ended, her haircare line ended, her podcasts will end soon and she cranks out babies like there’s no tomorrow which means that she’s gonna need money from somewhere and who better to give it to her than a kid that’s 100x more talented than her and 1000x the person she will ever be!!

Not one person said Kail was forcing or making this child choose to be an actor.
But he can’t sign with an agent without a parent or guardian bc he is a minor.

The kid’s had a camera on his face literally since birth. He doesn’t need Kail to force it on him, he’s used to it. Also he’s 16, he’s old enough to have his own interests and she’s supporting that.
There’s a lot of people here that takes any chance to criticize Kail, even when she’s not doing anything wrong. Get a life.
There are A LOT of child actors that would disagree with you…why don’t you ask some of them…oh wait, most are either addicts, in jail or dead…the few that aren’t don’t have relationships with their momager and/or dadager anymore…let’s hope he’s one of the latter because I’d hate to see him go down the dark road that most end up going down.

Also, he sees clean parents doing normal life. He is upper class and very much loved. So he is far less likely to end up as a druggie. Drug addictions stem from trauma and pain and suffering, childhood abuse, etc. Whole, healthy, properly functioning adults don’t generally run off and start drugs.
So were 3 Carter siblings (Leslie, Aaron and Bobbie) THAT DIED…as well as Nick who thankfully recovered from his addiction.
So were Brad Renfro, River Phoenix and Corey Haim…ALL DEAD of addiction!!!

She may not be the one who “made him wanna do this”, but she certainly is attempting to live vicariously through him. She makes it about her as often as she possibly can-and that’s a very slippery slope. She also has pushed him towards “the young influencer space”. She’s encouraged it since he was way younger, and that, too, is a slippery slope. Even if it’s something he wants to do-which I believe it is, she should be guiding him a hell of a lot more than she is. Her ability, or rather, her inability, to actually parent and given parental advice, especially in an area which she has experience is shining pretty brightly here. He needs someone in his life to help guide him better while he navigates these things he wants to do-she’s a terrible role model for that. He should pursue this if it’s something he wants (again, I believe it is), but he needs someone who isn’t Kail to help guide him better and make sure it is only *his* best interests that are managed. Parents have never made good “managers” (or any type of guiding role) in this regard, and people (like Kail) who like the attention while pretending they don’t are the worst at it.

I’ve watched some of his videos. He’s naturally funny and seems to be a pretty level headed, smart kid. I really don’t believe kail is “forcing” him to do it. He likes the camera! Good for him.

It’s possible that kail pushed him toward it so she could be known as “Isaac’s mom” instead of “teen mom kail” but it’s also very possible he just wants to be in a spotlight of his very own. We’ll never actually know the truth. These “public figures” do whatever it takes to stay relevant. There really is no trust.
