Tuesday’s episode of The Valley featured many dark moments involving cast member Jax Taylor, including a scene in which the former Vanderpump Rules star was called out for allegedly body shaming wife Brittany Cartwright throughout the couple’s relationship– a claim that has since been backed by not only Brittany, but most of ‘The Valley’ cast.
During this week’s episode, Kristen Doute called out Jax for calling Brittany “ugly” and “fat” (among other things) during their relationship, insisting that she had witnessed this behavior herself. Jax denied it, but his co-stars quickly chimed in during ‘The Valley’ After Show to discuss the times they’ve also witnessed Jax being cruel to Brittany about her looks.

“I never called her fat,” Jax replied. “ … I love women that look like [Brittany].”
Jax maintained that he’s never body-shamed his soon-to-be ex-wife, even telling producers that he would “never, ever” do something like that. However, Kristen, Brittany and others argued otherwise.
Kristen, who called Jax a “complete liar” for denying the body-shaming claims, said that Jax had been making comments to Brittany about her weight “for years,” including right after Brittany gave birth to the couple’s son Cruz in April 2021.
When asked on the ‘After Show’ about Jax’s alleged body-shaming, Brittany revealed that Jax– from whom she filed for divorce in August– would talk negatively about her body “all the time.”
“I’ve got stretch marks from having his son and he would say that I looked like a tree trunk,” she said.

As the ‘After Show’ went on, Lala Kent confirmed that she had witnessed Jax make these comments to Brittany in the past, as did Jasmine Goode and Zack Wickham, with the latter claiming that he had been there “a thousand times” when Jax told Brittany to “get on a treadmill” or questioned why she wasn’t working out because she’s “so fat.”
According to both Kristen and Nia Sanchez, Jax even made these horrible comments about Brittany’s appearance in front of Brittany’s own family.
Despite multiple people backing the body shaming claims, Jax continued to deny ever making negative comments to Brittany about her weight and/or appearance.
“Have I said mean things? Of course. What relationship have you ever been in that people don’t get in arguments and fights? That’s gonna happen in any relationship,” Jax said on the After Show. “But as far as attacking her body? No, I love the way she looks. That’s the one thing that I love about her. I love her body, I love everything about it.”
Instead of copping to his behavior, Jax went on to blame the allegations on things he’s said being “misconstrued,” while also claiming that Brittany has “a big team” of friends behind her who like to twist things in order to fit a certain narrative.
On the contrary, Brittany revealed on the ‘After Show’ that Jax would frequently tell her that she had no friends in an effort to keep her from venting to people about what was really going on in their marriage.
“He liked our marriage and stuff to look so happy and so good … ,” she said. “So that’s like, what he wanted everybody to think. But he, to me, was horrible.”
Brittany claimed that Jax would go out and tell people how amazing she was, only to come home and “tear me to pieces.” At some point, Brittany said it became easier for her to hold in what was going on in her marriage; however, doing so ultimately began to affect her health. While speaking to Lala on the ‘After Show,’ Brittany recalled a time when she broke out in hives for a year straight, in addition to “throwing up all the time.” The two also spoke about a mystery illness Brittany experienced in early 2023 that caused half of her body to become numb.
“[The doctors] said they couldn’t figure out anything that was wrong other than stress,” Brittany said, noting that she no longer experiences any of these health issues because she no longer lives with Jax.

As for Jax continuing to deny the body shaming claims, Brittany insisted that when Jax has a camera in his face, “he knows how to charm people” and “say all the right things.”
“But if we’re just hanging out at my house and I’m having a party, he doesn’t care to say [these] things in front of everybody,” she said.

Brittany admitted that, while Jax showed signs of this cruel behavior early on in their relationship, it “definitely got worse” around the time that she and Jax exited ‘Vanderpump Rules’ in late 2020.
“I guess he wasn’t attracted to me anymore or something and he let me know it,” she said.

Brittany has changed, she is not the young woman Jax met. She is a sh** disturber, she has put on weight, changed her face, she needs to stop it all, she looks terrible, I really wonder what her family thinks.
He is such an asshole that he really thought that “[her body] is the one thing I love about her” would show everyone he’s a good guy
He is such a dick. And a liar. I told someone when she announced her pregnancy that he was going to be cruel about her appearance. Immediately I thought of Adam from Teen Mom calling Chelsea a fat stretch marked bitch. I’m not a Brittany fan but I hoped she would come to her senses and leave him especially because of Cruz. Brittany may or may not have a problem with alcohol. But if I was married to Jax I would stay shit faced from sun up to sun down.
It was funny when she said Cruz can’t grow up to be like him. It wasn’t like she was trying to insult him, she was just pointing out a fact. LOL!
He’s another one like Kody that tries to do damage control but you can tell that he couldn’t care less.
