David Eason‘s girlfriend is defending her man, insisting that the infamously “employment-challenged” David now has a job— and is actually footing the bill for all their expenses. This comes as a surprise to most Teen Mom fans, who watched David become (voluntarily) unemployed and make excuses for years as to why he couldn’t get a job while he was with his estranged wife Jenelle Evans.
David— who, in the past, has claimed (in court) that he couldn’t work due to everything from his skin condition, vitiligo, preventing him from working outside; to him needing to randomly homeschool his eldest daughter Maryssa. (These excuses were both given to a judge in 2019 when David was being sued for the child support he owed to his second baby mama Olivia Leedham.)
Anyway, Kenleigh— who has been dating David since he split from Jenelle early last year— took to X over the weekend to inform nay-sayers that David is not freeloading at her house, like many people assume. In fact, Kenleigh insisted that, these days, David is covering all the household bills.
“People think that David lives at my house for freebies but he pays all the bills and plus some,” she wrote. “No wonder why I don’t talk about his job?”

This claim comes just days after Kenleigh got scorched on X for bragging that David left her a hundred bucks to go groomed.
“When your man leaves you $100 and says go get your nails done … nah baby we eating CRAB LEGS TONIGHT,” she wrote on May 22.
Several X users pointed out that Money Bags Eason likely only has disposable income because he’s not fulfilling his child support obligations. (Jenelle has stated in court this year that David has not paid anything to her for the care of their daughter, Ensley, whom David hasn’t seen in over a year. David is also the father of 17-year-old Maryssa, whom he has a relationship with, and 11-year-old Kaden, whom he shares with Olivia and has no relationship with.)
“He could’ve sent that 100 dollars to Ensley. I hate Juhhnelle so much but why lay with a man who doesn’t care for his child? And it’s gross that you tweet this like it’s a flex,” someone responded.
“This man has 3 kids, 2 of which he hasn’t seen for ages. You have a man who gives $100 to his girlfriend but does nothing for his children. Not a win,” another person wrote.
Over the weekend, Kenleigh spoke up in defense of David, claiming that he does, indeed, want a relationship with Ensley, and that he’s not just trying to get money and property in his divorce case with Jenelle.
“I don’t think that David (or Ken[leigh]) are the slightest bit interested in getting custody of Ensley,” someone wrote on X. “He wants the toys,1/2 the house & more money & to piss J[enelle] pff.. Jen probably dying to give E[nsley] to David. She’s so jealous of him being kidless & mad he’s not getting even trying.”
“Wrong,” Kenleigh responded. “Just cause we don’t talk about it doesn’t mean this doesn’t matter to us. I really don’t have a say in any of it. But we do have an opinion and a strong feeling about the things transpiring. And that’s really all that I can or should say.”
She also stated that David has tried to get in touch with Ensley.
“There were leaked texts of him trying to contact his daughter. He’s not picking and choosing [which of his kids to have a relationship with]. He is on the track to do so,” Kenleigh wrote. “And that’s about all I can say.”
As The Ashley previously reported, David responded to Jenelle’s divorce complaint in March, stating that he has not seen Ensley since he split with Jenelle in February 2024. He claimed that this is Jenelle’s fault, as she included Ensley on the Domestic Violence Protection Order she filed against him.
“[Jenelle] included the minor child, Ensley Eason; therefore, [David] is unable to contact the minor child…” he writes. “…[doing this] made it impossible for [David] to contact [Jenelle] or the minor child….”
In his response, David asked for full custody of Ensley, and that Jenelle pay him child support.
(In her court paperwork from February 2024, Jenelle asked for primary physical custody of Ensley and that David receive visitation that’s “predicated on a mental health assessment to ensure his fitness and ability to care for the minor child.”
Last week, Jenelle did an Instagram Q&A and stated that David was “told when he could call [Ensley] and hasn’t in almost a year. He cares more about who he’s dating.”
In August 2024, the judge ruled that David would not even be eligible to have supervised visitation with Ensley, until he consented to and took a psychological evaluation. (Based on court records obtained by The Ashley, it does not appear that David has done so yet.)
On X this weekend, Kenleigh explained why she doesn’t bring up the situation with David and his kids much on social media.

It’s unknown if Kenleigh’s statements regarding David’s finances will have any effect on his court cases.
As The Ashley told you, David filed an Affidavit of Indigency with the court last May, in which he stated that he was unable to afford an attorney to represent him in his criminal court case. (David currently has pending charges for “Assault by Strangulation” and “Child Abuse” stemming from a 2023 incident with Jenelle’s eldest son Jace.)
In the Affidavit, David declared that he makes $1200 a month from his “scuba diving” business and influencing endeavors; however he also reported that he was currently nearly $49,000 in debt. He claimed to be paying $1800 a month in “support payments,” which we can assume is child support. (However, Jenelle declared in court in August 2024 that David hadn’t paid her anything in child support for Ensley. David is currently behind in his support payments to his second baby mama Olivia.)
Anyway, this is not the first time Kenleigh has spoken out about the situation with David’s kids.
When asked back in March how she feels about the fact that David is currently only in communication with one of his three kids (Maryssa), she pointed to David’s lack of funds and lack of willing baby mamas as the reasons. (As fans know, David has had little to no relationship with his son, Kaden— whom he shares with Olivia— due to him being charged with domestic violence against Olivia while she was pregnant with Kaden.)
“It’s not that simple. You have to have money to obtain lawyers,” Kenleigh wrote in response to one X user who stated that David hasn’t made much of an attempt to contact Ensley or Kaden. “He’s working on building his life back and making money to do what he can for his kids. Starting from pretty much nothing is pretty difficult but he’s taking necessary steps to do that.
“…He has tried to reach out to his son in fact he has a daily reminder to call him and his mom doesn’t answer,” she replied to someone else regarding Kaden.
“I’m not saying he’s perfect or his past is spotless,” Kenleigh said.

Is this like when Jenelle swore he was working to save face? Even if it’s true, he should be paying back child support before paying for his girlfriend to get her nails done or paying all her bills. This dude is a loser. He’s a child abuser and an animal abuser. He doesn’t take care of his kids and lived off of his wife for the entirety of their marriage. I’m sure that’s why he’s dating someone as young as she is. A grown woman wouldn’t tolerate that mess.
An abuser never changes. Also don’t believe anything that comes out of his mouth or her’s either. And I better not see anyone defending him either. Don’t know why any woman would want to date him other than for fame but even that is bizarre.
I hope David does turn his life around. He’s done so really bad things and hurt innocent kids and made a mess of his life. Jesus is the only hope for that man but I wouldn’t sit here and wish him to the bottom the sea in chains just because I don’t like what he’s done in the past. How does that make anyone any better than the cruel man he was? Truly astounding the way some people think. I hope NOTHING but up for David. I would never want to see a man continue to hurt people or leave destruction behind him every way he turned.
I can’t imagine defending someone who strangled a child and, let’s not forget, he also shot a dog in front of his kids! That goon has no redeeming qualities whatsoever and this girl looks like an idiot for singing his praises the way she does. How embarrassing.

If you think harming a child, intentionally (in a way that can easily kill them, and left enough evidence for an actual charge just to throw that in there) or killing a beloved animal in front of your children for no reason to be “mistakes”…I think you need to do some serious life evaluation. Even Jesus isn’t going to call that kind of shit “mistakes” or brush it off. Also, mistake is the wrong word to use when someone does something with full intent, especially harmful intent. He intended to cause harm, and death in at least one of the many instances of him causing harm……that’s not a damn mistake!
Story time!!….
Here are some mistakes I made just within a single hour…so you’ll feel better and have something to judge for funsies. I allowed another human to put too many items in my very old washer, that caused it to go apeshit for about two minutes and then stop While it was going apeshit, it went off kilter and knocked an entire slightly open (because other humans didn’t close it properly) container of laundry soap onto the floor. I wasn’t concerned until I heard laughter that I damn well know meant someone was up to no good (but not in any actual danger) in another room. I was busy cleaning up a tiny tornado, that closely resembled a human being, who was covered head to toe in spaghetti. Tornado got cleaned up, and knowing full good and well I was headed into a disaster of some sort, I checked on the unmistakable laughter of other small human beings. The two of them were covered in not so cheap laundry soap and with all the preciousness they had in their hearts were putting on the most amazing disney on ice (the soap chapter) I have ever seen. Off to the showers (yes, separate bathrooms) for the both of them. Then I came back to tiny tornado and a painting of their own which necessitated more cleaning.
So, I made a few mistakes. I didn’t check the soap. I didn’t check the load in the washer. I trusted a not-so-tiny human to remember what I’ve said a million times about overloading it. I didn’t stop it when I heard the initial apeshit-because, as you know, it stopped on its own. I didn’t immediately clean the soap, because at that point, it was all wasted anyway. I sent the miscreants into the shower, clothes and all, because I failed to instruct them not to stay clothed. I didn’t actually fully clean off the tiny tornado, like I thought I had, or at least, hadn’t moved the spaghetti medium from within reach of the tiny fingers attached to it. I laughed at each and every mistake I made during the entire ordeal.
Yep, today was chock full of mistakes. But, my house smells amazing, if you like the smell of laundry soap, anyway. Also, no one was harmed in the committing of my mistakes, so, I’ve got that going for me.
Judge my mistakes, go ahead….I do too! But, I’ve never harmed a child or killed a beloved pet in front of my children for shits and giggles. I get my giggles without being a heinous human being.

You do also realize that Jesus, assuming you use the bible as your blueprint in life and it seems reasonable to suggest that you do, did not believe that others’ relationships with God, religion, faith, or anything else should apply to anyone but themselves….right?
Your faith, your religion, your relationship with Jesus, God, your church, whatever have you, is yours and yours alone. It is not he blueprint by which others live their lives, nor should it be the blueprint you use as some weird weapon, or shield against, or for, others. It applies to you and you alone, as it should. It’s fantastic that you have this for yourself, but I do not share the same beliefs as you do, and the great part about that is…Jesus is totally cool with that! Maybe you should be more like him.
Also, Jesus doesn’t like murderers, he never has, he never will, so your weirdly religious defense for David the bounty killer is a bit ridiculous, to put it mildly, and a lot bit fucked up to put it a bit more spicy.

Not defending David, please know that. But I can’t see any reason, under the circumstances, why David should owe a dollar of support to Jenelle. She kicked him and his daughter out, kept every last thing he ever called his for their entire marriage, he lived on a broke down boat begging for food, and Jenelle refused to let him even so much as see Ensley. All the while Jenelle has a STUPID amount of money to blow on lavish houses and vacations, trips and food and partying, boyfriends and friends, stripper parties across the dang country, etc. I am not team David in the slightest. But I am team “people who don’t need it shouldn’t get to steal money from people who don’t have it” and it would be no different than a woman stealing a baby daddies paychecks to get her nails and titties done. Just outrageous.
It is disgusting that David would be ordered to pay a single cent to Jenelle in his current circumstances. If he is literally just getting on his own two feet and she is trying to get a single dollar out of him, so that she has more money to abandon her kids and forget they exist, she is even more scummy than I thought her to be before I read this. I am pretty much the farthest thing from a DeluJanelle fan, but whatever money she has, she earned it without any help from Sasquatch. The items he wants from when they were married? SHE paid for all of them. She was nicer than I would have been by letting him stay on the boat! He’s been a leach since the day they got married. He saw her TV “fame” as his ticket to a life of leisure. And FYI, a mistake is basically an accident, something that happens without any intention. Choking Jase was done with intention to scare the kid into submission. Killing the dog – there’s no fooking way you can classify that as a mistake. So we know first of all that Jenelle never puts her kids first and she even publicly said what the actual reason was she finally kicked him out and that she used the Jace situation to cover it all up as a temporary boat stay. Also they that has nothing to do with the MASSIVE financial difference between these two. Jenelle doesn’t even deserve those poor kids, let alone money she doesn’t even need. A man should provide in some way shape or form for his kid. But before he’s even gotten up off the dang floor, and this nasty witch is trying to reach into his pockets? She’s pure evil. Every single way, all around. Evil.
Jenelle tried to get Jace placed somewhere else at that time. She asked MTV for money. She claimed she could not afford the $ to get her son placed in a inpatient program. So Jace had to go back to the swamp.
She even pawned him off on April David’s sister. She then had a birthday party for Ensley & April house and supposedly got permission for David to be there.
Also the night of her Policia Policia incident she brought David back to the swamp. She said the police gave her permission. NO WAY in Hell that happened.
So he doesn’t have to support his child because he refused to get a job for years and then strangled a minor. The child still exists regardless and he was one of 2 people who created her. He doesn’t get to shrug off responsibilities just because the mom is also useless. It’s about the kids not the mother
If Jenelle was poor and David was filthy rich, rolling in his money and blowing it left and right while not being a parent to the kids he had full time, you would so not say Jenelle owed him. David chose not to work for years. He chose to strangle a child who he was supposed to be caring for. It’s his own fault that he doesn’t have money. Also, Jenelle paid for everything for his and his daughter for years! Not to mention the lawyers for his custody cases for his other two children. Jenelle has publicly stated that she makes about 40 GRAND per month. That is an outrageous amount of money to make for doing literally nothing. Do any of you think before you speak? Do you know how many parents to “influencers” don’t work? It is not at all uncommon. With that amount of money, what would a low wage job even do? What person is like hey, we’re filthy rich but I’m going to go pull long shifts at a crappy low income job? Youre all just really nasty, hateful people. That is literally all it comes down to. I know David has done some really crappy things. But the people who hate him the way they do, are not any better of people. Do I think Ensley would be better off with David? Well, compared to being with Jenelle, yes.
