Todd and Julie Chrisley are free from prison and preparing to share all the details of their time in the clink with the public in a new ABC News Studiosā IMPACT x Nightline episode titled, The Chrisleys: Life After Lockup, which will air Sunday.
The interviewā among the first for the former Chrisley Knows Best couple following their release from federal prisonā will focus on Todd and Julieās experience behind bars after being convicted of tax evasion and bank fraud crimes in June 2022.
As The Ashley previous told you, Todd was originally sentenced to 12 years in federal prison, while Julie received a seven-year sentence. Last month, however, the pair were released from prison after receiving a full pardon from President Donald Trump.

Joining Todd and Julie for āThe Chrisleys: Life After Lockupā interview is their daughter Savannah Chrisley, who began campaigning for her parentsā release soon after they reported to prison to serve their respective time behind bars. In the trailer for the upcoming special, Todd appears to maintain his (and presumably Julieās) innocence, telling reporter Juju Chang that heās not here to make amends for anything he has done.
āI donāt have an apology to give you or anyone else over the money that Iāve made,ā Todd says.

As The Ashley previously reported, Todd insisted during a press conference held after his release last month that he had been āconvicted of something that I did not do.ā At the time, he also seemingly confirmed that Julieās past apology for her role in the coupleās alleged crimes had been insincere.
āYouāre placed in a position as a defendant to either bow down and kiss the ass of the Department of Justice and accept responsibility for things that you did not do in order to avoid a stronger sentence,ā he said, referring to Julieās statements while in court last year to appeal her sentence.
While Todd continues to insist that he and Julie were wrongfully convicted of their crimes, he claims the lockup experience has given him a new appreciation for freedom and even insists that the time he spent behind bars has changed him.
āYou donāt realize how much freedom means to you until you donāt have it,ā Todd says, later adding, ā[Prison] has to change you. If it didnāt change you, then youāre not human.ā
In the trailer for the upcoming special, viewers also see Juju hitting Todd and Julie with specific questions regarding the charges that landed them in prison, while also noting the Chrisley family critics who believe the pair should have remained behind bars.

āIām not oblivious to the fact that some people donāt agree with it,ā Julie says of her and Todd receiving a full pardon.
This weekendās special wonāt be the only time the Chrisleys return to TV in 2025.
As you may remember, shortly before the news of Todd and Julieās pardon was announced last month, details about the Chrisley familyās new reality show were revealed. The Lifetime seriesā currently titled The Untiled Chrisley Projectā is slated to premiere later this year, presumably with Todd and Julie taking on a more active role in the series now that they are no longer incarcerated.

āWe are blessed to have our family back and weāre blessed to be coming back to television,ā Todd said in a press conference after his release. āBecause we do have a much bigger story to tell now.ā
āThe Chrisleys: Life After Lockupā begins streaming Sunday, June 29, on Hulu and Disney+. Watch the trailer below.

I just wanted to know why they did do the whole dateline story on regular ABC regular channel instead of Hulu and Disney channel. Why not talk about your story to the whole world? People get judged everyday but that shouldn’t keep you from telling you store on regular TV channels.
Go away crisleys- please just go away!
This family is so fake! They stole and were found guilty, their money through their daughter got them free period! They were tried and were found guilty!! Where is the remorse? Oh sorry, had to get that Botox and hair dye for the cameras! Now a new ārealityā show to show ALL their riches?? And Savannah running for office?? Wow! They need to just slink away somewhere and be thankful they āstillā are rich and sit down somewhere!
Congratulations and happy for them. Praying that they follow through with all there plans to make a difference in the prison system and beyond. Looking forward to seeing all that GOD has for them.
They are disgusting and the US is a joke today thanks to Trump and his supporters
What an asshat.
Those two better wake up every morning and call their daughter and tell her how much they appreciate her bc who knows what she had to do (besides the campaigning) to get them out. Yuck.
Why would you imply this? You can disagree or not like the family but why are you implying she had to “do” something?
The bruises on her knees will vanish long before the traumatic memory will šš
Fraud criminals pardoned by a fraud criminal. Of course they will play poor pitiful me to get as much money in their pockets as possible. You think any of it will pay back the 30 MILLION they fraudulently obtained? Iām going to take a wild guess and say no. Since they were pardoned by twice impeached Trump they pay nothing to no one.
I donāt believe they have a choice, they have to repay their debt.
They wasted no time on getting that bag.
