Whitney Purvis of 16 and Pregnant Season 1 has been arrested for felony involuntary manslaughter involving a fatal overdose, TMZ reports.
According to the outlet, Whitney was arrested by sheriff’s deputies on Monday in Floyd County, Georgia, and is currently in police custody. Online records state that the former MTV star received the involuntary manslaughter charge for intentionally distributing the drug “Tranq”– a combination of Fentanyl and Xylazine– which allegedly caused the victim, a man named John Mark Harris, to suffer a toxic overdose.
Whitney was also hit with two additional charges involving controlled substances, including possession with intent to distribute.
The news of Whitney’s arrest comes more than a month after her son Weston Gosa Jr.– the first child to be born on “16 and Pregnant”– passed away at the age of 16.
Whitney had welcomed Weston Jr. with ex Weston Gosa Sr. on Season 1 of the MTV series, though at the time of his death, Weston Jr. was living with his dad and stepmom, Amy, who had raised both Weston Jr. and his brother River. Whitney did not have custody of the boys at the time of Weston Jr.’s death.
As The Ashley previously told you, Whitney was arrested almost exactly one year ago for failing to pay Weston nearly $20,000 in child support. She was also arrested in 2022 and charged with making felony terroristic threats and acts against Weston– four years after being questioned by police for allegedly threatening Weston via text message.
Whitney was also arrested back in 2015 for criminal trespassing and aggravated assault after breaking into Weston’s home and allegedly beating him with a broom.

This b**** really can’t get any lower, can she? Abandoned her kids, one who was chronically ill, showed up late to her own son’s funeral (anbd tried to make herself the victim) and now she killed someone. THROW AWAY THE KEY! She’s a s***bag of epic proportions and she needs to stay in jail.

She is a POS. From what it sounds like this man was her boyfriend. She had the audacity to go on his funeral page discussing her shock and disbelief that he was gone. She wished his family peace during this “difficult time”. She talked about how she would miss his cuddles so I’m assuming they were together. Who does that?! She handed him the drugs that killed him!
I thought she was a low life when she owed $20,000 in child support. Or when she broke into Weston Sr house and beat him with a broom. When Weston Jr died I felt bad for her as well until she started making her media rounds.
She lied and said she wasn’t allowed at his funeral. She lied when she said that Weston Sr didn’t provide health insurance for Weston Jr. She lied when she said she was involved in his life. Weston’s stepmother said that Whitney had not even seen Weston Jr in SIX years! She said that she was ordered to set up visitation at a center so her visits could be supervised by the court. She never did. The visitation center made multiple calls to her which she ignored. His stepmom also said that Whitney showed up to the funeral hours late. The doors were locked because they didn’t want a media circus surrounding his funeral and wanted to mourn him privately.
The fact that she takes no accountability for anything is infuriating. She must have went to the Jenelle and Amber school for pathological liars and earned a master’s degree because she certainly spins her bullshit.
So her crying about how she’d cleaned up her act and was being unfairly kept from her kids was total bs? Sounds about right. These deadbeats are always the same.
I just feel really bad for Weston and Amy for having to deal with her toxic attention-seeking nonsense while they are grieving their son.

Agreed. She clearly doesn’t have her life together like she claimed. Doesn’t she have at least one other kid that’s not Weston’s? Does the father have custody or was that child not as fortunate as the first two to have one decent parent?
Yes. His name is Collin. From what I recall Whitney’s MeeMaw had custody of Collin. When she died the custody was then given to Whitney. I don’t know why or how but she should never have gotten custody of any child.
