Josh Hall Defends Receiving Money in Divorce Settlement with Christina Haack; Accuses HGTV Star of “Behaving Like a Pissed Off Teenager” Amid Split

Let the games begin continue…

Christina Haack and Josh Hall’s marriage may be over, but their public feuding continues.

As The Ashley previously told you, Christina and Josh both filed to end their marriage in July 2024, less than three years after secretly tying the knot. Shortly after calling it quits, the two began engaging in a messy divorce, with both parties throwing allegations and insults at one another throughout the ordeal.

Recently, the pair confirmed that they had officially ended their union and reached a divorce settlement, in which Josh was awarded a one-time $300,000 payment from Christina, among other things. In a new interview, Josh defended taking the $300,000 from his ex-wife…while also slamming Christina’s behavior post-split.

As The Ashley previously reported, Josh was awarded a home and condo in Tennessee, land in California, furniture, four vehicles, a motorcycle, in addition to the $300,000 payment from Christina. (Per the agreement, Christina kept her business, her Newport Beach home, multiple homes in Tennessee, two vehicles, a side-by-side and four quads.)

In a new interview with the Daily Mail, Christina’s third ex-husband defended the $300,000 he received from the HGTV star in their settlement, after claiming during a mediation hearing in May that the funds came from “the sale of one of our investment projects.” (According to court documents, the $300,000 was part of the equal division of the pair’s Nashville property and was made to “resolve all other issues between the parties.”)

“She definitely made more money than me,” the Nashville-based realtor told the outlet. “I contributed what I had. I added wherever I could and I paid whatever share I was able to throughout the relationship.”

“Not to mention, I also contributed insults!”

While Christina reportedly forked over $40,000 to cover her ex’s attorneys’ fees and mediation fees– as well as an unallocated sum of $100,000 in 2024– Josh insisted this week that he spent “close to a quarter of a million dollars” throughout the divorce proceedings.

Despite this, he stands by his decision to decline receiving spousal support from Christina.

“The reality was, as long as we split things fairly and evenly as we should, there was never going to be a need for it,” he said. “So, when I voluntarily waived spousal support, it was kind of always my plan as long as things were done fairly.”

Josh also defended not fighting Christina on their $4.5 million Franklin, Tennessee home– which was awarded to Christina as part of their divorce settlement– claiming he’s “not a confrontational person.” Still, Josh insisted that he “voluntarily gave up more” to end the divorce proceedings without needing to go to trial, for which he claimed Christina “should be thankful.”

“Sure, Josh…your ‘thank you’ card is in the mail.”

Josh went on to explain that while he “kept [himself] quiet” amid his and Christina’s divorce, he believes it’s time for him to say something “now that the divorce is over and everything’s clear.”

“Everything previously reported was only [Christina’s] side and just because she says it doesn’t make it true,” he claimed. “I didn’t want to have a public feud and have a back and forth publicly. Now I need to have something to say because, unfortunately, people have only read what she says.”

Josh went on to state that Christina’s decision to speak publicly about their private matters “lacked class,” noting that, “divorce isn’t something for public consumption,” even if it does involve two public figures.

“ … Obviously don’t drag a divorce out there,” he said. “It’s immature. Let’s share some stuff, but the behaving like a pissed-off teenager on social media is just not something I’m going to do.”

Josh’s first social media post after finalizing his divorce…

As you may recall, before marrying Josh in 2021, Christina was married from 2009 to 2018 to her Flip or Flop co-host Tarek El Moussa, with whom she shares two children. Shortly after the couple’s divorce was finalized, Christina married British TV host Ant Anstead; they welcomed a son together before going on to part ways in September 2020. Christina and Ant’s divorce was finalized in June 2021 and two months later, Christina announced that she was engaged to Josh.

As The Ashley previously told you, Josh is now in a relationship with Nashville-based model Stephanie Gabrys, while Christina became Instagram official with boyfriend Christopher LaRocca in February.

When asked his thoughts on Christina potentially walking down the aisle a fourth time, Josh told the Daily Mail he wasn’t going to “throw shade”… before going on to do exactly that.

“I am not going to throw shade if she wants to get married 10 times until she gets it right,” Josh said. “If that’s what she has to do, then she has my blessing.”

Despite giving his ex-wife his blessing, Josh confirmed that he has no desire for the two of them to remain in contact with each other now that they’re divorced.

“I guess I’ll go ahead and delete the ‘WORLD’S WORST EX-HUSBAND’ contact from my phone…”

“Let’s be honest here – the amount of stuff that she’s attempted to put me through, well, it was a lot,” he said. “I can forgive her for that, but I’m not going to forget it. And I have enough good people in my life, I don’t have any reason to stay connected to her. So there’s no reason for us to communicate.

“If we see each other, there’s no reason for us to say, ‘Hi, hello,’” he continued. “The reality is she was set out to try to destroy me.”

Christina has yet to respond to Josh’s latest comments.

  1. Notice Josh isnt denying he stole money from Christina. If someone stole money from me, I’d be p*ssed off too. Especially if that person was close to me and I trusted them.

  2. We can only laugh when he says he didn’t want to make it public, when he clearly acted like an ass in the car with her filming. He is nothing short of a loser than gained a lot from his ex.

  3. “she has my blessing” What are you, her father? He hasn’t shut up about her, so I’m guessing he is projecting his own feelings about the constant need for validation he keeps talking about. Dude, like the Confederacy, you lost. Move on.
