Erin Bates Paine’s Husband Says ‘Bringing Up Bates’ Star Still Has No Function in Her Leg: Doctors “Don’t Have An Explanation”

More than three weeks after Erin Bates Paine suffered very serious health complications following the birth of her seventh child, the Bringing Up Bates star’s condition continues to baffle her doctors.

Erin’s husband Chad Paine gave fans an emotional update on Erin and their baby Henry in a video posted to YouTube on Monday. In the video, Chad gets choked up several times as he talks about how his wife still has no function in one leg.

“Erin still has complications,” Chad said. “She cannot use her right leg for some reason. The doctors don’t have an explanation. They don’t have an answer, and they are only hopeful on recovery. They’re positive towards it, but they still haven’t really identified the problems that have been frustrating, but we’ve been continuing to ask for prayer.”

As The Ashley previously reported, Erin first went into the ICU after developing a severe UTI and kidney infection after Henry’s birth. The infections put Erin into septic shock and caused her to suffer a lengthy and severe seizure. According to an update given by Erin’s pastor, the seizure she suffered was a 15-minute-long grand mal seizure. Last week, Erin and Henry were sent home, after both spending 18 days in the ICU and NICU, respectively. In photos from that day, Erin is seen in a wheelchair.

“The last three weeks have been a whirlwind of emotions, and an experience that we probably could have never dreamed or thought up,” Chad said in the video, which also showed some footage of him and Erin heading to the hospital before Henry’s August 25th birth, as well as some footage of Erin in labor, which is when Erin’s complications began.

“We figured something was up when it was just hours and hours and hours in labor,” Chad said. “She’s like, ‘This is not normal for me.'” (Erin and Chad are also the parents of six other kids— Charles, Brooklyn, Holland, Everly, Finley and William.)

“Never would we have dreamed three-and-a-half weeks ago, going into the hospital and expecting to deliver Henry and just things to be as it has been in Erin’s previous pregnancies, only to experience complication after complication after complication,” he said tearfully.

Chad didn’t reveal if Erin’s issue with her leg is the only complication from her health crisis that she’s still dealing with. He did, however, thank fans for their prayers, and encouraged them to keep praying— specifically that Erin’s leg starts working again.

“We’ve just been continuing to ask for prayer that He would lift up Erin, her leg specifically,” he said. “That the remainder of [her] issues that have been healing would continue to heal.”

“We don’t know the end yet, but we’re very hopeful,” Chad said of Erin’s health battle.

  1. It’s almost like they should have taken the doctors advise when they were told it was too dangerous for her to have more kids. At least he can still get her pregnant for the next one, maybe that time he’ll finally martyr her off.

  2. Hopefully this keeps her from having more babies. I’m shocked there’s not a gofundme. I guess Medicaid paid for all her medical bills.

  3. He thought this would just like her other pregnancies? You mean when she had numerous complications and was told not to get pregnant again?? This clown h takes absolutely no accountability for the condition his wife is in. And they very likely haven’t even learned a lesson from this. He’s a depraved monster.

    1. People this deep in the Christianity cult don’t understand personal accountability. They have convinced themselves that everything is predestined and forget about the whole free will part. They don’t get that chooses have consequences.

  4. Im a hemiplegic due to an ABI. I think thdy missed something o. The left side of the brain. Suggest MRzmRI and CT scan with contrast. Even a mini stroke cacause paralysis for a bit. there’s still a chance at recovery. I was given less than 1 %chance 8d ever move my left limbs.i still have paralysis but my the left side is somehow connecting to the right side of my brain and I am able to walk completely unassisted..I can’t run however… mostly because im scared my ankle will give out and I’ll fall and break my ankle, but honestly, i have no feeling in that are anyways so it would be interesting to see if it would actually hurt m… I also want to work on my left hook for the same reason.. if im going to break my hand punching someone in the face, im going to try it with my paralyzed hand🤣🤣🤣🤣

  5. How are the doctors “hopeful for recovery” if they have no clue what is causing one leg to no longer be functional?

Never would he dream that when his wife went into labor there would be complication after complications? Yes. They did. The doctors specifically told them that his wife could not safely deliver another baby. They posted to social media something along the lines of “After consulting with our doctor we realize no more children will be possible” then she had two more kids close together. Did they know she would have a seizure, go into septic shock and now not have use of one of her legs? No. But they damn sure knew that it was very risky to her health. She has had extensive health issues for a while. Multiple miscarriages, blood clots and I think something to do with her ovaries as well. Maybe instead of them praying and believing that God wanted them to have more kids regardless they should have been thinking that maybe God was trying to tell them to stop.

    1. They didn’t think it was possible because she had one ovary removed completely and like 2/3 of the other ovary. The doctor didn’t say it was unsafe they said they didn’t think it was possible she would get pregnant.

      1. Doctors 100% told them they should avoid future pregnancies due to Erin’s underlying health conditions … This was well before she had her ovaries partially removed. They willfully chose to ignore that advice and did it anyway, and now are facing the unfortunate consequences as a result of not listening. Here’s to hoping they choose to appreciate the children they have instead of pumping out as many babies as they can in the name of their cult.

  6. Possibly she had a stroke. Happens in childbirth sometimes.

Next one will probably kill her if this one doesn’t. She is still in danger.
