Just a week after Teen Mom grandma Barbara Evans was hospitalized after suffering a stroke, Barb’s daughter Ashleigh is providing fans with an update on how Babs is doing…and alleging that her estranged sister Jenelle Evans had been starting some drama within the Evans family that left her 72-year-old mother “shaken and upset.”
As The Ashley told you last week, Barbara’s medical emergency happened around Wednesday in North Carolina, after which, Barb was hospitalized and eventually sent home after showing some improvement. While in the hospital, Ashleigh was by her side, as was Jenelle’s teenage son, Jace, who went back to North Carolina in August to live with Barbara. While Jenelle happened to be traveling from Las Vegas to North Carolina last week, her trip was reportedly planned prior to Barb’s medical scare.
In the comment section of YouTuber’s Elle Bee‘s video about Barbara’s stroke, Ashleigh told worried fans that Barb is improving.
“My mother’s OK she needs lots of healing,” Ashleigh— who hasn’t gotten along with Jenelle for years— wrote. “… I also used to be a certified nursing assistant med tech, I used to work in long-term care so she’s in very good hands. She’s walking. She’s alert, she’s talking. She just needs lots of rest. She will be OK and make a full recovery thank you for the prayers [and] kind words. She’s loved by all her family and close friends. She’s got a great support system here.”
Ashleigh also used the comment section to expose some hijinks that Jenelle had allegedly been pulling during her trip to North Carolina.
“[Our mom] doesn’t need any more stress,” Ashleigh wrote on Tuesday. “Unfortunately, my sister started some drama today…”
“She has called me repeatedly and harassed me all weekend along with other family members,” Ashleigh claimed. “[Jenelle] did not fly out here to be with my mom. She’s very jealous of me and [is] not looking [at] what’s in the best interest of Jace or my mother…
“My mother has a great support system in North Carolina: friends, family, extended family that are not on the show, by the way, and I will be taking care of her with other family every week. She’s talking, she’s awake and she’s very shaken and upset after what happen[ed] today. I will address that situation at a later time… [Jenelle] keeps calling me from [a number with] no caller ID, threatening to press charges on me just for going to my mother’s house and helping her, absolutely uncalled for.”
As ‘Teen Mom’ fans know, Jenelle and Barbara have been at odds for months. (In fact, the mother/daughter duo have been at odds for years, off and on.) In September, Jenelle claimed on TikTok Live that her mother’s attitude is one of the reasons they don’t have a good relationship, before going on to accuse Barb of being jealous of her.
The Ashley’s source tells her that, although Barbara and Jace had not wanted Jenelle to come to North Carolina and see them, the ‘Teen Mom’ star did spend some time with both her mom and son this week and it was “without incident,” the source stated.
As The Ashley previously stated, Jace’s living situation will remain the same— despite Barbara’s stroke— and he will continue to live with Barbara for the foreseeable future.
“Jace is thriving in North Carolina right now,” the source added.

Something aways seems off in this family. Jenelle has her issues, Barb, sister starts feeling like she’s just dragging things out as well. Barb gave Jace up, Jace has his issues, he was raised by Barb, Jenelle was raised by Barb. Whole thing is just a chaotic mess and Jenelle doesn’t even live in town and had issues with Jace and the police in the past under her care. I don’t think it’s all rosey like the sister is trying to play it out as. Otherwise Jace would have never been given up in the first place. Why after all these years do it then take him back in.

Ashleigh is definitely telling the truth about Jenelle. She’s jealous of everyone that has anything that she doesn’t. She hates that Ashleigh and Jace have close and loving relationships with Barbara and inserted herself just to be an asshole.
Time to get out the re-cryner and record yourself crying again, Ms. Jenelle.
If she was able to see her mom and there was no drama, then that’s as good as it can be. Still sending positive vibes to Babs and those taking care of her while she heals. She is one tough mehmay!
I feel like Jenelles mental abuse towards Jace and Barbara is way overlooked. Jenelle abandoned Jace with Barbara and then claimed Barbara stole him. Jace probably believed it for a time as well, most kids would. Imagine that from Jaces perspective and how confusing and upsetting that probably was.
Now Barbara had a stroke and Jenelle comes back into town and upsets Barbara. Smh
another thing that gets heavily undercooked is jenelle’s drug problem. she may be clean from heroin and overly relies on weed too much but there’s a reason why she keeps going to the doctors/ hospital claiming anything’s wrong with her. and if anyone thinks i’m exaggerating clearly has never paid attention to her kitchen counters

I believe Ashley for saying Jenelle is jealous and not looking out for Jace’s interest or her mother’s.
She’s very self-centered, and can’t just be happy for him bc Babs is raising him. All she did was use this kid as a babysitter while she’s running the streets. And setting an awful example with her OF lifestyle Something bad is going to happen to her. would think the stroke would have brought her closer to her mother. It’s scary and life-threatening. You only get one mother, shame on her and she’s done so much for her and still is! Shes a Trashy looser and will mess up Kiefer with his sobriety watch
I agree with you on everything but I do wish people would stop using the “you only get one mother” bullshit. There are plenty of shit moms out there and I wouldn’t want Jenelle’s kids to feel like they’re supposed to maintain some semblance of a relationship with her when they’re old enough to choose – just because she gave birth to them? She’s never been their mother, mama, mommy or any other endearing thing.
Shitty mothers only get ONE of that kid. THEY, as the parent, should take care not to fuck it up so no one has to try and guilt the kids into keeping in contact with someone who only brings trauma and pain. The only one mother/father/whatever bullshit has to GO. Not everyone has the parent you may have and I’m glad you don’t know this type of feeling. (I’m assuming bc I’ve yet to meet anyone who has a terrible relationship with a parent spout the “only one” thing)
I promise I’m not coming for you in particular, Chrissie! This is a perfect example tho of why we shouldn’t say that to people – Jace, Kaiser & Ensley should never be told to ignore the harms their lived experience gave them just bc JE contributed DNA.
I love how Jenelle dreams up these scenarios where people are jealous of her. Girl, look at you. Look at your LIFE. WHAT do we have to be jealous of? If we’re being real, you’re more of a cautionary tale 😂 If babs actually was jealous, it would probably be over the fact that she is still stuck taking care of Jace at her age while her daughter is gallavanting around in Vegas in search of the nearest dick to park her tooter on. Someone being jealous of you requires that you actually have something to be jealous OVER.

Agreed. I just don’t understand why Ashleigh is going online everywhere telling people how she’s got it handled. Girl, just go handle it. You don’t need a certification to help your mother who was well enough to be discharged to home from the hospital. Also, I love how she didn’t bring up the social work thing in that particular cited comment.
