Chuck Potthast— the father of 90 Day Fiance star Elizabeth Potthast— has died. Elizabeth announced on Sunday that her dad— who has been prominently featured on nearly all of the “90 Day” spinoffs Elizabeth and her husband Andrei Castravet have appeared on– passed away on November 9.

He was 64 years old.

Elizabeth took to Instagram to announce the sad news to the Chuck’s fans.

Elizabeth’s sister Becky Lichtwerch— who has also appeared on many of the “90 Day” shows with Chuck and Elizabeth— posted her own tribute to her father on Sunday.

“Two weeks ago on this day my world became distorted into a place I don’t understand,” she wrote on Instagram. “My father Chuck went home to be with The Lord. The pain is still more than I can bare so this is all I can write.”

Chuck had been suffering from a variety of health problems, some of which he shared publicly. In 2022, he revealed on 90 Day Diaries that he had battled cancer in 2016, but was officially cancer-free by 2017.

In July, he revealed that he had surgery to remove something that he had feared was a tumor. (It turned out to be a large kidney stone.) Chuck took to Instagram to share his good news, telling fans “I’m so excited that my cancer didn’t come back.”

  1. Elizabeth is losing her shit on her stories because media picked up on her post about this.if she didn’t want people to know yet then she shouldn’t post it publicly

  2. R.I.P Chuck you were a great father and grandfather the best one in the family.
The TV shone when you was on you brought entertainment to all who was watching.
A lot of hearts in the 90 day franchise would of broken when they heard one of the greats has gone up above but everyone knows you’ll always be looking down and protecting the ones you love

  3. I lost my dad almost five years ago… I miss him every single day and will until I am reunited with him again. Chuck really seemed like a wonderful man and I’m sure he will be very missed. I am not trying to be snarky, but I am genuinely curious how Elizabeth and Andrei will continue to fund their lifestyle… It will definitely be interesting to see. I hope the family can bind close to get through this time because I feel like Chuck really held them all together. I know I will miss seeing him on the show. RIP Chuck!

    1. I lost my dad almost 2 years ago…he went so suddenly, sometimes I still think he will just come back even tho I know he won’t. It’s such a terrible loss, it changed me a lot.

      1. I agree- even at almost five years I think sometimes “I gotta call dad and tell him about this…” and then I remember. Or I think Next time I see dad I’ll have to share this with him” and the it hits. I hate it so much. Just yesterday I saw someone that looked somewhat like him in a store from far away and my heart skipped a beat. I’m so sorry for your loss, A. It’s a painful one for sure. Sending you a big hug.

  4. Today is the anniversary of losing my dad. The pain never goes away. My heart goes out to their family in this heartbreaking time.

  5. I am so sorry for your loss. You can tell how very much he loved you all. RIP sweet one. Your soul will continue to shine down upon your loved ones to guide and
    And send ❤️

    1. Good question that is really aimed at Mr. Leech himself (Andrei).

But poor delivery. Chuck seemed like a wonderful human. He will absolutely be missed. He was only a meal-ticket in Andrei’s eyes. Terrible he went so soon. RIP.

  6. This one got me. As a long time viewer, he always seemed genuine, seemed to love his family, and worked his ass off. Even in the “made for tv drama” for viewers, he was never a prick and always pragmatic and rational. Just a good dude. Rest in peace, Chuck. My perspective was obviously limited, but you seemed like such a great man, a great dad, and a great grandpa.

  7. Losing a parent is such a life changing experience and the loss is unmeasurable. So sorry for her families loss. R.I.P. Chuck
