“90 Day Fiancé” Star Liz Woods Reveals Doctors Found Another Cancerous Mass on Her Ovaries: “It’s Heartbreaking”

Liz Woods of 90 Day Fiancé took to social media this week to share with fans a sad update on her cancer fight.

“ … it’s heart breaking to announce the [doctors] found another cancerous mass on my ovaries and I’m taking this time to be alone with the ones closest to me,” she posted to Instagram, alongside a throwback photo of her and her daughter. “The next step is hysterectomy.”

Liz— who will appear on the upcoming season of “90 Day: The Single Life” when it premieres later this month— made her announcement on February 4, which happens to be World Cancer Day.

As fans of “90 Day Fiancé” know, Liz made her TLC debut on Season 1 of 90 Day: The Single Life as Big Ed Brown’s love interest. The couple dated on and off for three years, during which they broke up more than 11 times, got engaged on two separate occasions and were featured on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? and 90 Day: The Last Resort, before ultimately breaking up for good in late 2023.

After rumors about her health began circulating online in 2024, Liz went on to confirm on social media in December of that year that she had been “going through treatment” after being diagnosed with cancer.

She later addressed the comments being made about her appearance– particularly her weight– implying that she had started a weight-loss journey before beginning her cancer treatment, which she claimed had caused her to lose an additional 17 lbs.

“I started my weight-loss journey over a year ago [on] Dec 10 of 2023,” she posted last year. “I went from 170 to 125 & then from 125 to 108 from being sick and going through chemo. Those last 17 lbs. were not a healthy time for me and not a part of any program.”

While responding to a comment from a viewer in late 2024 who accused her of being “too skinny,” Liz– who revealed that she had finished her last round of chemo in December 2024– insisted that her body was “actually perfect.”

“My body has been through depression, which made me gain an uncontrollable amount of weight, treated me well during my own weight loss journey and then endured 14 rounds of chemo,” she explained.

Back in September, Liz told fans she would be sharing her “ovarian cancer story” soon, while noting, “chemo can suck it.”

She went on to reveal last month that she would be opening up about her diagnosis on Season 5 of ‘The Single Life.’

“I’m Back & ‘I’M SINGLE’ … the first time I speak about my ovarian cancer and living my own journey,” she wrote. “Catch the season premiere of THE SINGLE LIFE on February 9th.”

In addition to sharing her cancer story on the upcoming season of ‘The Single Life,’ viewers will watch as Liz makes her return to the dating scene and takes a trip to the Dominican Republic with friends/co-stars Sophie Sierra and Julia Trubkina.

Season 5 of “90 Day: The Single Life” premieres Monday, February 9 on TLC.

  1. I love you Liz I think you’re a great human being and you’re beautiful but what I don’t understand is why it didn’t take out your ovaries and full hysterectomy and they were first diagnosed a while back because that’s usually standard procedure especially in such a young woman.

    1. Having had a full hysterectomy at 39, was not an easy decision. I went through numerous health issues which could have killed me. I made the choice to have the full hysterectomy and hard as it was, never regretted it. Liz is young and I understand what a hard choice she has had to make. God bless Liz!

    1. Only 1 country in the world where a go fund me is even needed. In civilised countries it’s not even a fleeting thought as to the cost of treatment. You must be so proud.
