Shekinah Garner is defending her actions during an on-air fight with co-star Thais Ramon featured on Monday’s episode of “90 Day Fiance: The Last Resort.”
As viewers saw, Shekinah got into yet another nasty fight with Thais that nearly escalated into a physical brawl. During the Jerry Springer-esque scene, Shekinah screamed to Thais to “go back to your country,” a comment that did not sit well with her co-stars…or the show’s fans, prompting Shekinah to hit social media on Tuesday to explain that her comment did not mean what people assume it meant.
Viewers have watched as Shekinah and Thais have feuded throughout the season. (Interestingly, the women never even met in person before appearing on ‘Last Resort.’ However, they had followed each other on social media…until Shekinah discovered that Thais had unfollowed her and removed her as a follower on Instagram before going to film the season. Shekinah confronted Thais on Night 1 at the resort about the unfollow, but Thais claimed she had no idea that happened. This caused Shekinah to storm off, angry that Thais wasn’t “here to be honest with each other.”)
The feuds between cast members have continued over the past few episodes, with Thais’ (soon-to-be-ex) husband Patrick Mendes making enemies with the ladies of the cast by making some insensitive comments about money. Patrick called out Guillermo Rojer for not making enough money to keep his wife Kara Bass off of OnlyFans, (even telling Guillermo at one point that, should he and Kara divorce, Guillermo could go after half of Kara’s OF cash). Shekinah also accused Patrick of making several comments about women being gold-diggers.
This did not go down well with Shekinah, who slammed Patrick in a confessional interview for his gold-digger comments, as well as for bringing up rude statements her husband Sarper Guven previously made about Rebecca Parrot.
“I’m really getting sick of Patrick,” Shekinah said. “He’s trying to start s**t again about [Sarper’s comments] when everyone is just trying to move on. Plus, at the banquet and then again at breakfast this morning, he was making blanket statements about the whole female race being gold-diggers, as if we are all the same way.
“He’s the most superficial person I’ve ever met. Like, dig deeper, dude,” she concluded.

Shekinah later told Patrick that he has a “poor man mentality.”
“You’re trying to paint women to be gold-diggers,” she said. “You’re acting like you know us all on a deeper level than you actually do.”
Thais jumped in to defend Patrick, but Shekinah yelled back, telling her to “get [her] husband” because he’s “talking to [Sarper] about money and telling [Kara’s] husband to f**king take her for a ride.”
Shekinah waved Kara over to tell her what Patrick was advising Guillermo to do earlier in the day, but Thais kept interjecting to try to explain what he meant. Shekinah waved her hand in Thais’ face and told her to “shut [her] mouth,” which caused Thais to explode at her, putting her hands in Shekinah’s face and threatening to “beat [her] ass.”

After Shekinah pushed all the glasseware on the table toward Thais, it caused Thais to immediately lunge at her.
“The b*tch almost hit me,” Shekinah screamed. “You’re a f**king c*nt… Go back to your country! You suck!”
After that comment aired in the trailer– and the news of Thais’s domestic violence arrest broke– Shekinah came to her own defense on social media for her comments. Now that the episode is out, Shekinah is back on Instagram to address the fight.
“I really appreciate all the people in my DMs and comments who see things for what they really are,” she wrote. “Your support and understanding means a lot because as you can see, I was surrounded [by] very ignorant characters. What I experienced was a PHYSICAL ATTACK.”

“‘Go back to your country’ means go back to where you doing this is allowed,” she continued. “Cause where I’m from, it’s not. Her husband recently called the police on her with fresh scratches on his face because where we are from, you get ARRESTED for behaving that way.”
(If you want more details on that arrest, you read a recap of the police bodycam footage here.)
Shekinah also posted a screenshot of a comment supporting her.
“The cast just ignored the fact that Shekinah almost got attacked physically?” the comment reads. “It is wild how people completely flip the timeline of this fight just to make Shekinah the villain… Since when are harsh words worse than actual physical violence?”

She also addressed the allegations that she’s not a “girl’s girl” by bringing up that she tried to protect Kara (and her OnlyFans earnings) from Patrick’s comments, while Thais “sat by and did nothing.”
“But I’m the villain and the mean girl, right?” she wrote.
Shekinah then posted three videos to further explain her comment.
“I’m seeing all these comments of people saying, ‘How could you say go back to your country when you have an immigrant husband?’ So that should explain right there that I probably didn’t mean what you think I meant by that statement. It had nothing to do with her country, it had to do with her as a person, and I was literally saying [to] go back to where doing what you’re doing is okay.”

“I actually didn’t know where she was from,” she continued. “But going back to my husband being an immigrant, he would always throw back in my face that he was going to go back to his country. Do I get offended at that? No. I’m not like, ‘Oh my God, what’s wrong with my country? You don’t like my country. You want to leave? (boo-hoo sounds).’ I’m like, ‘Fine, go then.’”
“I haven’t personally ever been physically attacked like that by a woman before in my life,” she said in the next video. “I have been a victim of domestic violence before, I got a restraining order on an ex who was violent and aggressive to me, but this was a new level, especially since the conversation I was having was centered around defending women. So I was defending the very women in that group who have obviously turned against me.”
Shekinah also insisted that her ‘Last Resort’ castmates came on the show disliking her before they even met her.

“That’s fine, but at least give me a chance to change your mind,” she said. “I actually came to the show with thousands of dollars of gifts for these women, but production wouldn’t let me give them to the women… I said, ‘I don’t need it filmed, let me just give the gifts on night one,’ and they wouldn’t, and eventually I ended up giving all those gifts to crew members… I’m not everyone’s cup of tea, I understand I’m very direct and I read people. I see right through people and it bothers people. I’m also a very nice, kind, loving, generous person to those who don’t come at me sideways.”
Her final story read, “Someone just told me it was really nice of me to say go back to your country because I could’ve said go back to your village. Could’ve been meaner.” (Thais is from a small, relatively poor village in Brazil.)
Yikes.
“90 Day Fiance: The Last Resort” is currently airing on TLC.

Shekinah is absolute trash. Especially considering the current political climate, it was a cheap, gross comment and her intention was not to criticize Thais’ shitty behavior but to classify Thais as a “them.” It’s a classic move for slow-witted racists. Shekinah said nothing of pertinence about Thais, simply revealed her own true colors.
