Police Body Cam Footage Released from Thais Ramone’s Arrest; “90 Day Fiancé” Star’s Legal Team Responds to Patrick Mendes’ Default Filing (Recap of Events)

The Thais vs. Patrick feud continues…

New footage from the day Thais Ramone was arrested last month has been released and it’s…surprisingly calm.

According to the police report first obtained by TMZ, Thais’ soon-to-be ex-husband Patrick Mendes called the police, who responded to a domestic violence incident at her Nevada home after she slapped him. Thais was subsequently arrested, but all charges have been dropped, must to the dismay of her ex and some of her 90 Day Fiancé costars. (Click here to catch up on all of the Instagram gossip.)

On Wednesday, TMZ shared two videos from the police officers’ body-worn cameras recorded May 22– the day Thais was arrested. The police report stated that the incident occurred after Patrick brought the couple’s three-year-old daughter Aleesi to say goodbye to Thais before she left to visit family in Brazil, ultimately sparking a heated argument between the two. However, Thais told a different story. In her statement to police, Thais claimed that Aleesi was supposed to go with her to Brazil, but that Patrick had other plans.

“I paid for the whole trip for me and [Aleesi] to go visit my family,” she explained while holding her daughter. “Everything was right, he said he was going to let her go, but then yesterday, I went out for my birthday and he went down and he was crazy. We [haven’t been] together for so long, but he doesn’t accept [it’s] the end.”

Thais went on to explain that while Patrick filed for divorce, she was the one who broke off their marriage five months earlier– less than six months after the pair filmed Season 3 of 90 Day: The Last Resort.

“I [broke up with him] because I was tired of living like [this]; I couldn’t do anything,” she claimed. “I was just tired of being abused, but we never had any aggressive type of fights or anything.”

When officers questioned her about the domestic violence incident, Thais explained that before Patrick came to her house, he sent her an email at “like 2 a.m.” telling her that Aleesi would not be going on the trip to Brazil, which they were supposed to leave for that same day.

“He tried to control me through her,” Thais told officers. “We do [custody] like, she stays with him four days, then four days with me, but he doesn’t let [me], like, he takes her. He said he’s not going to bring her to Brazil, so I said OK, and he said, ‘You can say goodbye,’ and when he [shows] up, I was like, ‘Can I have a moment with her?’

“He was like, at the door saying he was going to stay there because she doesn’t want to stay with me and things like that,” she continued. “I said, ‘Can you leave the house because I feel like I’m stuck.’ I can’t do anything. I can’t even have my car.” (Thais owns a Tesla, but the app for the car is allegedly connected to Patrick’s phone. She explained to officers that Patrick can lock/disable the car whenever he pleases to keep her from leaving.)

In a longer video posted by Sgt. Pepperspray on YouTube, Thais describes more of her side of the incident: “He [shows] up and then he starts attacking me cause I’m not from here. That’s how he can control me.”

“I am so patient, I am very polite with him always, but he … follows me everywhere, I don’t have my car, I can’t do anything,” she said. “People can’t visit my house, I can’t live my life … He follows me, he chases me everywhere. He sends messages to my friends. He’s crazy.”

Thais alleged that Patrick has physically harmed her before (after she broke up with him) and even accused him of putting up cameras in her home. She claimed that only Patrick had access to the cameras, so she took them down.

In the video, the police sent Aleesi over to Patrick before cuffing Thais, despite Patrick telling officers he didn’t want to press charges. While she was being arrested, Thais insisted to officers that she “didn’t do anything,” but the officers claimed that Patrick had “scratches on his face” that were consistent with his story, as well as the video he showed them of the incident. (While the YouTube video shows Patrick showing officers the video, the content is blurred out.)

Officers explained to Thais that the charge was “only a misdemeanor,” but she would still have to go to jail. In response, Thais stated, “This man did so much [to] me, I never did anything to [him].” The officers went on to tell Thais that in order to be released from jail, she’d have to post a 10 percent bond of her total bail of $3,000, which she did the following day.

When officers spoke to Patrick, he claimed that after serving Thais with divorce papers, he informed her that she couldn’t take Aleesi with her to Brazil, so he brought their daughter over to “say goodbye.” From there, he claimed, Thais “attacked [him], slapped [him] in the face, and that’s pretty much it.”

“I went into the apartment, [but] my daughter didn’t want to be here,” he explained. “[Thais] was telling me to leave to give them space and I said OK. Then, she came up to me, hit me [on] my back, pushed me on my back, I walked out the door, then I walked back in cause I was worried about my daughter … [Thais] is a mess right now, man.”

Thais maintains her claim that she was acting in self defense, though Patrick told officers he “never hit a woman in [his] life.”

Earlier this week, Patrick filed for a default ruling in the couple’s divorce after Thais failed to respond in the allotted 21-day time frame. Thais has since hired a “powerhouse” legal team to fight against Patrick for custody of Aleesi. In a press release on Wednesday, Thais’ legal team assured the public that their client “has rights and those rights will be protected.”

“No one should ever be made to feel powerless because of their immigration status, and no one should be bullied into silence,” Kathleen Martinez, Thais’ immigration lawyer, stated. “My team and I will vigorously defend Thais’ interests and ensure she is treated fairly every step of the way.”

In addition to an immigration lawyer, Thais has hired family attorney Carmen Marisol, who says she is “confident that the evidence will demonstrate that Thais is a loving, capable, and devoted mother.”

Patrick requested in his initial filing that he have full legal and primary physical custody of Aleesi; on Thursday, Thais filed her response, in which she requested that she and Patrick have joint legal and physical custody of Aleesi. According to Starcasm, Thais is also asking that the court calculate child support (based on Nevada statute) and claims that “there are child support arrears owned by [Patrick].” Thais goes on in her filing to claim that Patrick should be responsible for health insurance premiums for Aleesi, and that both she and Patrick be equally responsible for medical costs not covered by health insurance.

Thais is also requesting spousal support and is planning to drop Patrick’s last name and restore her maiden name.

Thais and Patrick are currently appearing on Season 3 of “90 Day: The Last Resort.” New episodes of the TLC series air Mondays on TLC.
